  1. Just fiilled her up to the top and the trip computer says I've got 575km, at 7.6km/L. Alot better than i was expecting
  2. Jeez, 9 degrees. Anyone got a paddy basher we can set fire to in the pits, to keep warm?
  3. Dude - you have outdone yourself with this one
  4. Damn, I can't wait for this. http://palgn.com.au/article.php?id=7872
  5. Interesting article about an ex ferrari employee, handing over secret files to a McLaren tech who has been temporarily suspended. Ferrari have lauched a case in a Modena court, so I'm sure the guys will get a fair hearing:-) http://edition.cnn.com/2007/SPORT/07/03/mo...reut/index.html cheers
  6. I'm actually trying another pad from Bendix, called the "Street, Road, Track" http://www.bendix.com.au/Text/117425913098...281613041-6043/ They have it for the 350Z non Brembo callipers, so I'm hoping it should fit onto my V35 non Brembo's. I'll find out Saturday morning when I try and fit it. Fingers Crossed
  7. I'm currently getting around the 13.5L/100km. It's a bit higher than others have posted, but I've only had the car a few weeks, so most of time, there's a bit of hard driving going on:-)
  8. I'm not in any kind of rush so that sounds great. Someone actually doing it is much better than taking a guess. :-) Any idea on what such a swap would do to the break balance of the car. In my case if all is good and I go ahead, would moving from 2 pistons up front to 4 pistons, mean I would need to correct soemthing in the rear?
  9. Hey guys, Does any one have any idea if the front callipers from a R33 GTS25t or R34 Gt-t will bolt onto the V35? Being a 2005 Coupe, I don't have the Brembo's, and I though if they can bolt on, the 4 piston callipers from the older Skylines might be a nice cheap upgrade for both performance and looks. Any thoughts?
  10. Add one very stock V35 to the list. :-) See you there. Bobby.
  11. Sorry to hijack, but that just sounds very wrong. I was in and out of complaince within about 10 business days only 2 weeks ago. I think the shops have access to where the government is up to, so they should be able to check this. For e.g if your paperwork was submitted on the 20/06, the shop can check what day the government body is up to, as in, today they may be working on all submissions which were put in on the 16/06, so you would have 4 days left till they get to yours. That's what happened in my case anyway, (or what the shop told me was happening) and at all times I knew pretty much exactly when the car would be ready. For around $30 I had the plate flown in overnight as well to reduce even more waiting, cause the weekend was coming up. I was also constantly ringing/emailing to see where things were up to, not being a pr!ck or anything, just simply asking for an update.
  12. Hey Guys, Has anyone looked into the below option? It's an SD card based Nav pc from VDO, and they seem to think that it should be able to be wired into the standard screen in the V35. http://www.siemensvdo.com.au/press/release..._navigation.htm I've done a bit of a search and it seems to come with a few screen options, but if this could be purchased seperately without the screen, would it be a massive task to wire it up to a OEM screen in the V35's? Cheers
  13. Nigel, Do you know if they are the same brake pad, parts #'s for non Brembo 2005 Coupe? Cheers Bobby
  14. I got stuck for around a week but that was because 2 brokers submitted clearance for my car and it took 3 days to reverse the one I had no contact with and still don't know how they got my details. From what I know though it's around a 3-4 business day process, as you can get charged storage after ariund that. About $25 per day.
  15. Also, don't put the handbrake on straght after a stint. You can warp the discs. It's something simple, but cause it's an automatic reflex to put it on when you pull up, I've forgotten a few times in the past.
  16. In for a meetup also, but if your talking one of the servos on the highway past campbletown, it might be pretty hard to organise an accurate time. Personally, I vote for either Maccas/Krispy K's Cumberland highway liverpool, or woodbine Macca's Campbletown way. We can do both, as long as someone from Liverpool gives the campbletown guys a call when we take off to meet us on the road. I've met at Woodbine a couple of times in the past, pretty easy to find, and it's on the way for pretty much everyone from Campbletown, Sydney, Newcastle etc. Maybe we should start another thread.
  17. Hey mate, Have you fitted these on your V35? do they fit?
  18. Hey John, Welcome, and get one, you won't look back! I'm in Sydney also and am insured through Shannons. $1800. I got a quote of $900 through Ryno, but they won't let me park it at work, in a gated, secure employee only carpark, that you have to swipe in and out of. They said they don't insure public car parks. So i laughed and hung up. :-) The quotes I got went up to $7000, and even NRMA wanted over $4000. I thinks it's the unknown that there scared of. Cheers Bobby
  19. Targa Tom, Very interested in why you have included Montoya in this list. As an F1 driver, personal opinion is he's done about as much as Webber has (well maybe a bit more). Heaps of hype, heaps of potential, but in the end seems thats all it ever was. Cheers
  20. Hey Skizo. Wow, first time I heard that the fogs had to be removed as well. I can't believe that the Xenons need to be removed. I've driven my coupe with and without them, and can say that these headlights are not designed for halogens at all. At the time, my fogs were connected and I got a brighter, wider beam coming from my fogs than I did with the halogens.
  21. Hey Scott, I had a nice big delay as well. All up my plates took around 12/14 days I think. The workshop I was dealing with was filthy about it. They had dealers waiting on cars to be picked up to be put on the yeards and they couldn't do anything about it. Once the plate came in, I was "randomly" chosen for an ID inspection, so that took another 5 days. Then when I went to register it, the RTA had a systems prob so I lost a full day there, and finally after all that it's on road It seems like every possible delay - I got hit with. But once it's on road, I have to say they are a very very nice car to drive. Power wise, I think it would eat my old R33 (not that it was anything special). I've booked in for the Wakefield track day in July, so can't wait for that. See you around Bobby
  22. agreed, cheap wheels are one thing, but if you're only after looks and like them go for it. BUT -don't skimp on the tyres. Get the wheels, and look for a decent set of tyres elsewhere
  23. Just checked my coupe and it's the same 15degreesBTDC@650RPM Cheers Bobby
  24. Yep all 4. Ideally you should replace the shocks, but there are thousands of people who put in lowered springs without upgrading the shocks. Personally, I'm only doing the springs at this stage. I've got no plans to turn the car into a weekend track car ( even though I might do the odd track day).
  25. thanks guys, yeah the 350z springs are exactly the same, but they sit about 1/2 an inch lower than the V35 version of the same springs. Basti, yeah I noticed the Meg's clay scuffed a few times, but I took it quite easy so didn't have too many probs. I'll give the Mothers a shot next time.
