  1. Seeing as the weather is so shitty here in Sydney at the moment, thought I would spend the weekend giving the V35 a detail. That and the fact that I can't drive it until it goes through the identity check on Tuesday, made it a good way to spend the weekend. Unfortunately the tiny bit of sun I had dissapeared before I could get any decent pics but here's a couple I took anyway. You can see the sun is gone in the last pic. :-) The process was Wash/Dry Maguire's Clay bar Zaino Z-AIO Zaino Z-CS I've got Zaino Z-8 as well for a final layer but I'm stuffed and this is good enough. Oh and yes i know it needs new wheels. I've got Tein 350Z springs at home, just have to decide on wheels now. Cheers oh and images are quite big when opened
  2. In NSW you also need a weighbridge ticket, and CTP insurance in hard copy.
  3. Hey Frankie, That's a very good price for compliance, especially if you know the workshop and they have a great rep. I'm paying $3500, and am happy to do so, because of the reputation of SSPI, who are doing my complaince. I had quotes fro less than this, and i had a few for closer to $4000, but in the end it was more who was doing the work not the price. My understanding is that the compliance work itself takes a few days worth of work ( well in my case it has). The workshop is now waiting for the plate to come in which they said can be up to a week if not more. It used to be quite quick apparantly but not any more. Well, that's what I'm being told. Be careful with the Xenon's. They are illegal and not allowed to be on the car. The workshop is taking a risk letting you keep them. Cheers Bobby
  4. ztuned, Please enlighten me - where exactly is this forum? I've been on these boards since they started and am yet to see a V35 specific forum. And could he possibly have a 32 AND a V35? cheers
  5. $35k-$37k landed and complied add on to that Tyres - $1k Alarm - $500 Blueslip - $100 Transport to and from Compliance $100-$200 Rego - $1000 etc etc These are just a few thing off the top of my head. The price builds quite quickly once the car lands and you need to get it on the road. Still - $35k for a manual premium landed and complied is great value. When I got mine a few months ago, a manual Premium in "very good" condition was selling for 2.4mil yen and above. Based on my costs to date at 100yen exchange (banks in reality will give you closer to 98/99) you're still looking at over $40k You can get poor condition ones for less, but do you really want a 2 yr old car in poor condition. Imagine the abuse it's copped to be so bad aftr such a short period of time. just my 2c (actuall prob 50c)
  6. Yeah he'sa freak. I don't think I've seen anyone do better race car conversions.
  7. Not mine, but my alltime fav photoshop of any Nissan excuse me, I need to find some tissues - again!
  8. Maybe not as relevant, but a point to note. I was looking under my V35 the other day and the first thing that stood out is how smooth and hidden everything is. Compared to my 33, where you can lie underneath and look up straigh through to the bonnet, the V35 has like an undertray which runs through it. It also has a little lip at the front of the undertray with like a clear plastic flap on it. For a standard V35 Coupe it seems alot more throught has been put into aero compared to previous models. Happy to take some pics once it comes back from complaince.
  9. Hey guys, Just found at the back of a shelf, a bottle of unopened Motul brake fluid from around 4 yrs ago when I had my 33. Not sure of the exact name, but it's the one with 400 degrees boiling point I think. Can I still use this? Cheers
  10. Look up Zaino. They have some new all in one products which are getting really good reveiws. Up to now they have been more used by pro detailers and involved a fair bit of layering of several products but their new all in one stuff cuts all this out and you still get an unbelievable look and very very long lasting - 9 months I think. I've just got a friend in the US to ship me some, so will post some pics once the car is done. Try autopia.org as well, mountains of info on car care. The one thing that everyone says though is prep the paint properly otherwise doesn't matter how good the final wax/sealant is you will always see blemishes and swirls. A good wax/sealant will actually highlight the problems if you don't prep the paint beforehand.
  11. Hey Scott, Can you import the car without linning up complaince first? I think the complaince place needs to submit an import approval for you and this should've been done while the car is in Japan. Please speak to a compliance place ASAP. As for me, I just got off the phone with SSPI, the car is going there today. The car got here week before last, but I had a few issues with customs clearance. From what I gathered J-spec send your details to a customs brokerage who submit paperwork for the car to clear. In my case I had already organised my own broker, as I was not told that J-spec do this. Long story short 2 lots of paperwork were submitted which delayed the car by about 3-4 days. I had it transported to my place first so i can do the tyres and Xenons, and SSPI were quite busy last week when it landed so all is working out ok. My delaings with SSPI so far have been great. Both Bettina and Chris have been putting up with endless questions from me. can't really comment on the work as it hasn't been done yet, but if it's anything like the service, i know I'll have no problems. I'll PM you re the lights. Cheers Bobby
  12. There's a similar thread on LS1.com, where a guy is currently going through a claim, and he could not be happier with the service. As Ryno are underwritten, the claims process seems to go through the parent company, from what i could get on LS1 forum. The cheap rates make sense though. They only insure Rating 1 drivers, they look for car ensthusiasts. So basically people who are good drivers, and love their cars, so they look after them, and don't just leave them anywhere, which in turns means minimal claims.
  13. My V35 arrived last week, used K-Line and could not be happier. Everything seems 100% in order. There was even a small scratch that I saw in a pic that was sent to me while the car was on dock in Japan, which i can't find now, so I'm thinking they might of got bored on the trip down and buffed it out for me I can see you're in NSW, so make sure you request a ship to NSW. I think KIWI only go to Brisbane and the the car coems down to ydney by road. This might be quicker as there are more ships to Brisbane ( I think), but the less your car is moved and handled the better. IMO As for insurance, my only advise would be to get pics of the car dated as close to as possible to when the car gets on the boat. But yeah, insurance is like any other insurance. If there's a way out then they'll find it and not pay.
  14. no worries if nothing else pops up i'll cruise up there this weekend. Thanks
  15. Thanks, I found Homers on high street, can you remember if it was on a corner or something, cause there are no tyre/wheel places showing up on high street. thanks Bobby
  16. Hey guys, Does anyone know of any places in Sydney that have Rays Wheels and do finance? Cheers
  17. Drift, Can i get some specific details? What "conversion kit" are you referring too? Is it available off the shelf or did you make it? Either way what's the price? As for the new unit in the boot - Any recommendations on models? I've looked into this myself, and the parts I've found that will get the Navi working on original screen, come up to over $1k, and I can't justify this when you can get Navi's for well under this now. PM me if you like, any info is appreciated. cheers Bobby
  18. Yep, sure has been done. By Top secret. 570hp "with a mid sized turbo charger"
  19. Wow, I honestly thought they were 4 up front 2 at the back. Thanks Frank.
  20. Hey Guys, All V35 owners, what oil are you using? Brand and grade.
  21. you sure Coupe's are 2 piston? I could swear the front's were 4 and the rear 2. It looks like 2, but I think there are 2 pistons on either side of the brake pads. If they are twins only, I would be looking to see if the R33/R34 GTS T callipers can be adapted. You can buy these for around $400-$500, and they are 4 piston fronts
  22. woops, i will put it through today.
  23. Yep give Ryno a try. I was looking for quotes for my V35 and they were the best by about $1000. I was a bit worried cause there small, but a guy on LS1.com is going through a claim with them, and is nothing but rapt with the service. On a side note, I lost it at Shannons yesterday. Cause the V35's are still quite new here, I had to go through a "special" quote, and in the end they tried to tell me that the agrred price they can insure me for was the FOB price of the car in Japan. That's almost 20k less than what it would cost me to replace the car should anything happen.
  24. Hey Shell, faxed the form a couple of days ago, and put payment through 14/05. Let me know if nothing comes through in a few days.
