  1. hey Guy's, just speaking from personal experience, but my view is that unless you're after basically a visual check, i would not be getting an inspection done. About 3 years ago when i was looking at buying a particualr GTS25t I had an inspection done on the car I wanted. The price was about as high as you guys have allready stated and the guy was test driving the car for well over an hour. His verdict was that the car was bordering on excellent. Of course he pointed out all the scratches etc etc. Following this I let the importer know that I wanted the car, and 2 days later I got a phone call from the broker saying that the car was at it's warranty check and was only running on 5 cylinders. This was not picked up by the NRMA guy in anyway shape of form and when I called to ask why it was missed, his response was " we don';t have x-ray vision to look inside engines". My advise is get a trusted mechanic that is known to you.
  2. OH! MY! GOD! Is that a neon tube in front of the intercooler on the R34? (see close up) Oh great earth, open up and take me know!! wtf is this world coming to. If that is a neon tube, the owner and however fitted it should be shot.

    V35 Gts

Personally, I love the V35 coupe. Excellent shape awesome interior, multi award winning engine. Personal taste aside, as far as a car goes, for the money you will have to look very very very far to find something to match the package let alone beat it. The rear lights have like a lense panel that covers actually 2 round lights underneath. i.e "Afterburners" I think Nissan listened a little after the uproar over the V35 sedan not having twin round lights. If finances permit, this baby is definately on my list once it's allowed over here. You've allready got the big boys in Japan ( Trust, Signal etc ) working on the 350Z, so I don't think power up options will be too far off once the coupe is released. my 3c - too many opinions for 2c cheers
  4. Hey Fella's, Thanks for the reply's. GTS-t VSPEC, sounds like your on the money. I've had the boost wound pretty high for quite a while now ( running 0.9 to 1 bar for over 12 months ). In the begining all was good, but it's progressively gotten worse. I think I'll wind the boost down first, see how I go, and if it's still ongoing I'll take for a squirt on a dyno. The fact that running very rich is no good aside, the thing sounds awesome. Changing gears high in the rev range gives massive backfires making it sound like a rally car going through the gears at full throttle. Scares a few pedestrians as well. Cheers
  5. Hey Guys, I've noticed that my car is running very very rich at the moment. You get a pretty strong smell in the cabin, and the other day when my wife was driving infront of me, every time she gave it a hit, I could smell the fuel in her car about 20-30 meters behind. Under hard acceleration black smoke comes from the exhaust, and I also get a pretty bad misfire under heavy loads high in the rev range. Anyone have any ideas? Are the misfire and rich fuel mixture related?
  6. Inark, If it's just the fins that are dented then it shouldn't be a problem. Just grab yourself some long nose pliers and straighten them out as much as you can, to allow the air to flow through. If you don't put mesh infront of the cooler when you fit it you will get that happening all the time from rocks and other crap on the road. Cheers
  7. thanks Joe, I had the belts replaced not too long ago, so I would say it's the starter motor. There's also a whining noise coming from the front as well probs from the power steering motor, any ideas on this?
  8. hey Guys, When I start the car up and the engine is cold, I get a really loud screeching, screaming noise from the motor which is getting progessively worse. Anyone know whats up? thanks Bobby
  9. GR33DyMANGO Yeah it is the 350Z that I'm referring too, and yep $60AUD sounds correct. Let's just hope that Nissan Australia finally see the light and realise the potential that this car would have in AUS. I've shown the pictures to my mates who are loyal, Holden, Ford, Honda fans, and all agree that this car would be in a class of it's own here in Aus. I'll try and scan the article tonight, I've got indoor soccer after work so not sure if I can get it done.
  10. Hey Guys, On a recent trip OS I picked up a copy of the last ROAD & TRACK mag ( US Version ) and inside it had the first test of the Infinity Coupe ( which wil be the new Skyline Coupe ). This mag had nothing but the highest of praises for the car, calling it a real sports car more than a luxury coupe. As you all know it's based on the same platform as the new Z, and although this version had the same engine, it had slightly less power and obviously weighs more. It did however out perform the Z in the cornering and slalom tests. Interior is identical to the Z. In the US it also has optional Brembo brakes, a first for non GTR 'lines. Not sure if this is the same motor for the JAP version, but in the US it will be priced about US$30000, and it out performs the porche Boxter. I'll try and scan the article and post it if anyone is interested. PS - It did have the twin after-burners for rear tailights cheers Bobby
  11. add another definately in!!
  12. Hey Guys, I have a booklet at home with all the cars you can win and on what race to win them, and sorry but there is no R33 GTS. There are some awesome GTR's, in case some of you havn't got them yet - 32, 33, 34, GTR, Nismo 32 S Tune Nismo 34 R Tune Nismo 400R Nismo LM road car There is also a lambo race car in the game, but I can't remember what race it's in. If you need anymore info on the cars, let me know and I'll check it up. Cheers Bobby
  13. Hey Guys, On the same note, does anyone know of any Sydney dealers with R34's at a decent price. I'm after a dealer as I don't want the hassle of selling my 33 privately. and would prefer to try and trade it in. PS Sorry George, I think the convertable Stang will have to wait. probably when I go thrugh my mid-life crisis. Thanks Bobby
  14. Silver-dude, There is a very limited number of 4 door GTR's that were made by Nissan's tuning arm Autech. There's actually one for sale in Aus at the moment. The look pretty good, the ultimate family 4 door. I tried attaching a pic below, hope it works. Bobby
  15. shhh don't tell anyone, 1 problem at a time, besides thats in part 2 of " how to destroy your gearbox, and what to replace it with"
  16. Hey Guys, As far as tyre pressure is concerned it's also a safety issue. By increasing the trye pressure your less likely to have the tyre jump off the rim should you have an off onto the dirt or grass. If you have lower pressure yes the car will perform better ( street tyres ) but if your not experienced, the last thing you want is going off sideways at 140 + km/h and the tyre coming off the rim. This equals rim digs into the dirt and then it's rolly polly time. I'd also recommend paying attention to your brakes. Use a decent set of pads, bleed the brakes before the day, and preferrably replace the fluid with one that has a high boiling point. I use Motul race fluid, which mixes with the remains of your standard fluid and has a high boiling point. Finally never put your handbrake on straigh after coming off the track, as the heat can warp your discs. My 2c
  17. Definately agree with George, launch at lower RPM and it will be way more effective. If you have a standard turbo then the power band is quite smooth, so your not going to get any advantage by launching at high RPM. If on the other hand you have a T78 then yes rev high. As far as burning the clutch, you just have to know the point at which you can safely lauch without burning it. I've had my clutch for well over 12 months now ( just a $450 RPM HD cheapie) regular launches, about 4 trackdays and still no slipping. Know the limits and you'll be fine, if not remember these words " OS Giken Triple Plate":D
  18. XrSiSt sounds good, I'm little tied up over the next couple of months, but I want to get down to Wakefield in September with the honda boys. I don't actually have NISMO plates on the car. I have a white 33 with GTR front bar, FMIC, 17" wheels, lowered, with twin rear angled exhaust, gimme a wave if you see me.
  19. I live out the back of wetherill park way, which is where I usually see this car. whetherill park industrial area - mmmmmmm massive roads for drift....
  20. Hey 88, I've seen this guy a few times on the road, on my way home, I had a nice little run with him on my way home from work once and kept up as well. Woo Hoo i must have a ***** hot car hey:D The guy gave me a little beep and a wave when he turned off. Nice Guy, Not scared to squeeze the throttle either
  21. ohh well, thanks for trying, damn that is a fanatic
  22. Howdy Again, Here's the map for the seeting, so you can see flightdeck is basically around the ring.
  23. hey George, You have Platinum and Diamond ( up to $750 ) which are ring side, and then you have flightdeck. I can get the exact seat/row details when I go home later tonight. thanks Bobby
  24. Hey Guys, I have 2 WWE tickets for the Global Warning Tour in Melbourne Aug 10. The tickets are on the flight deck, and with booking fees cost me $250 each. I actually got a little ahead of myself and booked 3 weeks before they went on general sale, through work. Bad timing means I can't go now, so I am willing to sell them for the face value of $200 each. Let me know if your interested. And, yes I know wrestling is fake.
  25. Hey Guys, Been to two of these before, and great days. They usually have a hand full of professional drivers who are more than happy to jump in show you around a track. Believe me you do not know what your car is capable of until a pro gets behind the wheel ( at least around a track, anyway) RED - last time the Honda club was there (earlier this year), there was a bit of confusion about passangers, and in the end they were allowd. Can you find out if they're letting passengers, in this time round as well. Thanks
