Hi everyone,
My name is Mishy, can anyone help me with rotor sizes for my R33 GTST series II 96 model?
I need to buy new rotors and i have been trying to get quotes, but everyone wants to know what diameter rotors are on front and rear.
I looked up DBA and it said 292mm and 296mm. I told the brake place this and they said thats probably not right?
Does anyone know definately what size rotors come stock on my car?
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

Anyone with the same problem, I have found replacement springs in America, but at least i know they exist...

Thanks

no you don't.
You'll have to weld to get the TIAL one on there, so what's the difference to just welding to put a GTR one on there?
Will cost you around $50 IMO to have it welded + stock GTR BOV (~$70).
Problem solved, and the GTR BOV will hold 370rwkw in single form.
Thanks for your help.

Or you could put the factory one back on there, won't cost you a cent and will work fine.
I mean fair enough you've changed it (you should have used a GTR one)... but to change for a copy? Thats silly.
Cutting the spring might work, but totally depends if its now to short and won't seat properly, rendering the BOV totally useless with the chopped spring in there
Hi,
Unfortunately as i have changed the top pipe i will have to put stock one back on to put stock BOV on.
My boyfriend got this work done for me and I only found out today it was not a genuine tial... i tend to agree with you about the genuine stuff but apparently even genuine Tials dont have soft hard setting which i think is the poroblem, otherwise i would have bought one.
But yes that was my worry about them hacking my spring as i dont want to do any damage...
Do you know if i can get another spring that will fit that will have correct tension?
Cheers mate

cutting it will make it stiffer, less coils makes a higher spring rate... yet perhaps its too long :S
i dont understand tho, the title says TIAL 50mm copy, which makes me think you mean a external WG, but your talking about a bov?
More info is required, and explain what is not working properly
Its a tial 50mm BOV copy (non genuine) it was actually given to me. Still factory turbo and wastegate.
Since the modifications mentioned in my original post the BOV will not open properly, we think maybe not enough boost for this size BOV. But we dont want to up the boost just yet as still standard turbo and dont want to damage anything.
Pretty sure even genuine Tial does not have soft hard setting, already had custom top pipe made to fit this BOV, so would have to have another top pipe made to change BOV if thats what your suggesting.
Really just curious if i can get a replacement valve spring with correct spring tension to make this BOV work.
Cheers for your feedback

I have a GTST 96 model and have just put a saber intercooler kit on and replaced hot pipe and crossover pipe (top pipe) to inlet. I have also put on an apexi pod filter and the BOV on. The only other mod is the exhaust; from cat back, everything else is stock.
The problem i am having is the BOV fitted does not have a soft or hard setting therefore will not open properly, i have been advised to cut 15-30mm off the valve spring but am not sure if this will fix the problem or cause further dramas??
Can anyone HELP!
Maybe a replacement spring for this valve is available?
cheers guys

Hi,
I am looking into buying another skyline and was wondering...
Could someone tell me how I can tell if a skyline is a M-Spec model?
I know series II have twin airbags for example...
What features would an M-Spec model have so I can check that it is what they say?
Cheers

Can anyone help me out with the names of a few good insurance companies that will insure imports?
I have previously used Just Car, but I have heard there are some other less commercial and therefore cheaper companies that will insure imports?
Any names would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks

It was stolen on Tuesday and you're just telling Skylines Australia now?
Hopefully it has been dumped somewhere like all the others we hear about, and someone will report a dumped car and the cops will give you a call...
Hey yeah
Got in on here ASAP as I didn't have the internet then...

Airbags and handling do not get used in the same sentence
If you want to airbag, you want a "show" style car. Looks good, pimp, but is only a cruiser
If you want it to handle through the twisties, stick with coil-overs.
You standard suspension will handle better than airbags
Cheers mate,
Really the main reason i was lookin into air bags is because my line is an everyday car for me and i'm sick of scrubbin her out on driveways and dodgy roads (Central Coast).
I know I will lose some handling, but how much i guess is the hard question to answer... even if i buy a decent set of bags i can see wot your saying...
Thanks heaps dude...
I'll have a think about it

Am looking to air bag my next skyline and have had mixed reactions...
Q. Anyone bagged an R33 GTS-T or GTR or any ideas about what bags or how she will handle with bags??
Any honest advice greatly appreciated...
I am not looking to race but want to be able to handle at decent speeds...

Hey mate,
* Do you have any pics of the rear & interior?
* Have you got log books?
* I would be looking to purchase without Work rims... have you got pictures of stock rims
* Whats the paint like? Has the car been garaged since you've owned it?
Cheers,

Cheers Suspense
i just went and had another look under the bonnet and that code is on a japanese plate i couldn't read...
i asked several " car enthusiasts" and "motor proffessionals" if any of those codes could have been a paint code... they said NO but they obviously had no idea!
-
Hi all,
Just needing a paint code for a 1993, r33, nissan skyline, GTS.
As far as i can see it has NOT been resprayed so i just wondered if someone knows the paint code for the stock white paint that model came out with.
2 stickers under the bonnet are missing, and i cant find the code on any sticker or plate in the door jams or under the bonnet.
can anyone help me
thanks mishy

it is weird that DBA would have wrong size... dont mean to question you but how do you know your measurements are correct?
