^^ pretty sure the standard is 2.25" I've done extractors, high flow ressy, high flow cat, 2.5" mild mandrel bent steel with a 3" tip. Downlow power is the same but once it hits the higher rev range, around 3000-4000rpm it takes off compared to before Cost me around $2,500 including DKNE extractors.

Buy a standard car for the remainder of your P's and continue to save up some cash for a nice clean turbo when you're off your P plates. The amount of attention you will get from driving a skyline with P's from cops is just not worth it in the end really. I've got a N/A 34 had it since I got my P plates and now I'm wishing I just bought a normal car for my P's. P plate on an import or anything that isn't stock standard is just a target for cops. As for manual being a pain in the ass I'd have to disagree. You obviously don't drive a manual car. It becomes second nature, highway or city, doesn't matter.

What/where is wsid -
Don't mean to steal your thread but I'm thinking of selling too due to buying a GTT sooner or later when I get off my P's. I own a coupe 25GT with 103,XXX kms, relatively good condition minor scratches on 1 rear quarter and few stone chips on the bonnet. It's got a $2,500 custom made exhaust system from the headers back and a set of Te37's with bridgestone potenzas which cost me about $5000 all up... How much do you guys reckon I could get for a non-turbo, with or without the wheels. I'm presuming p-platers are snatching them all up due to the new laws as when I look on car sales now, theres hardly any decent ones compared to when I was looking for mine.

Good to hear you got your car back man

Yes, I'd get a balance then an alignment and most likely it will be all sweet.

So is he still driving around in circles or did they stop it somehow?

Shit way to learn if you're not going to take responsibility already... Honest mistake or not.

Just cars is probably the way to go, looking at $2500 - $3000 for first year of insurance if you want full comp. As for finance you need a full-time or part-time job, they won't give you a loan if you're a casual. Not sure if they'll give you a loan because you're on a student visa :S. Just contact a bank.

Happened to me, they don't need shit.

The guy who got away and then later notified his car is going to get impounded and him get charged went down to east melbourne police station yesturday to give his statement. The officers said it will most likely be a fine, maybe suspended license and the whole thing was a petty issue. He wasn't too clear on what they are charging us on, he said they said something to do with running a red (because of the hook turn), however I don't see how that warrants a court appearance so there would be more too it. He come back feeling really good about it, I told him he doesn't realise they just tell him what he wants to hear then they will dirty up their act in court. Havn't heard from Melbourne council about CCTV it's been nearly 2 weeks, so I'll be giving them another call monday, then if no response or action is taken I'll talk to my lawyer about it and get him to make them chase it up. The officers also said it was 7 officers word against ours. Complete bullshit, only 2 were in the car following us, the other 4-5 were only there after we'd been pulled over. There was nothing to see going through St Kilda road, Exhibition st or Bourke st and until that hook turn at Bourke and Russell St. All I can do really is wait for a summonds in the mail, spoke to a local officer the other day, he said it could take anywhere up to 12 months for it and also said that could work in my favour - show I've been on my best behaviour since... although the only thing I've been done for was speeding 25Km/h over which was over 12months ago...but I guess that will probably still go against me. Since I've been caught I see so many morons out there, speeding, "dragging", doing fully sick skids, and I think how the f**k did I get done for dragging racing from a dodgy hook turn and these people get away with blue murder.

Expression of interest only, if I get an offer I like I'd be more than willing to seriously consider it. 1998 White Nissan Skyline R34 25GT (non turbo) 5 speed manual 2nd Owner in Australia 103,XXX KM Rego til Feburary 10, or if not sold until after then, then Feburary 2011 Very clean and well looked after, minor stone chips. Car is A1 mechanically with the 100,XXX service just being completed not long ago. The car is completely stock except for a full exhaust system which includes a set of DKNE heat proof coated extractors - $800 Hi flow cat and 2.5" custom made exhaust system with 3" cannon - $1500 Splitfire Coil Packs - $600 The car also has black 18" Rays Engineering Te37's (orginally bronze but bead blasted and powder coated) - $2500+ with a set of Bridgestone Potenza tyres - $500 for each rear and $350 for each front - $1700 I'm after around $20,000 with the rims, or $18,000 without (stock 16" R34 GT rims instead) Car is A1 mechanically. THIS IS EOI ONLY. Don't want to part with the car as it's my pride and joy, but need the money. PICS WILL BE UPLOADED ASAP.

Melton TMU has had them for a while (from what I heard first in VIC to get them), they have a range of 1 KM and detect speed of cars travelling away from or towards to the police car that the camera is mounted on while the police car is both stationary and moving.
-
Is it coming from the engine? May be your head gasket if you got a full system put on and they just re-used your old gasket.

Beenar in drive thru at maccas round 8:30pm last night? I saw the line and thought stuff that, went to the other one.

I'm sure they could take it if he didn't offer it, court order, warrant etc. It would only dig his hole deeper for not cooperating. He has to take it to the depot himself...wonder if he'll get charged $300 odd like me and the other guy did. The cops apparently got his plates as they're personalized and he was infront of the guy who was infront of me that got done, but I have a feeling the other guy may have dobbed him in or accidentally told them (hes abit dopey). As I said in the first post the officers said "trick your mate into coming back here and we'll go easy on you" thats him, I just said I didnt know him well, friend of a friend, etc. I plan on lawyering up, have been in contact with Michael from MK Law, seems like a top bloke, decent price, so far so good, have to wait for summons to really start sorting shit out though. As for the other guys, one wants to go it alone without a lawyer, the other I'm not sure what he wants to do. I contacted Melbourne council for the CCTV last monday, should I call back tomorrow asking how it's going as its been a week or should I leave it a tad longer?
-
The guy in front that drove off got done today, cops rocked up at his home saying he has to take his car into preston to the impound depot, and has to attend a police station for his statement... So now I have two other people same situation as me
-
Well I made sure I clarified it with the officers that night, and they said when the light goes green for the street you're turning onto, thats when you go... lol
-
Spoken to two lawyers for advice, not for official representation and they both said "we cant do anything really til we get the summons, come back when you get that" ...so any rough idea how long that is :S this whole thing is turning into a shit storm
-
I know both of the drivers in front, and 2 out of 3 had a passenger, so that may or may not help. Called up asking for the CCTV footage today, the head of security in melbourne was not very helpful, smart ass at times - "we don't give out the footage to everyone" i said "I completely understand that mate" he replied "maybe you just want a picture of some cars drag racing in the city" so i said look mate I can just get them under freedom of information act and he goes "yeah takes 3 months for that to get processed....we delete CCTV after 28 days, so go for it" After he got off his high horse, he said he'd have a look down exhibition, bourke and russell for me to see if there was anything but no promise as the cameras might not have been facing the road.
-
Fact of the matter is I would've been more than understanding and deserving of being booked for that, rather than drag racing/speed trial.
-
Depends what cop you get, what mood they're in, and if they wanna double fist you or not.

First time driving in the city, never been taught one. No trams where I live.
