Plug in diagnostic for Nissan CONSULT device (used by nissan techs when tuning/troubleshooting).

Exhaust overheat, indicating lean mixture. It shouldn't illuminate unless you're really giving it some stick. If your cat has been replaced, chances are the sensor hasn't been plumbed in so it won't illuminate anyway. ummmkay ?

WHERE to get Hicas checked out ?
BigDatto replied to gunjack's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I think the Toy Shop in Cardiff can help you. Or certainly steer you in the right direction. http://www.japimports.com.au/ Is an aftermarket steering wheel fitted ?? hope that helps you out. -
Yeah that's a fair call, bout the rematch. This was pretty dangerous territory, (renowned for cops). In retrospect I wouldn't have run him had I been thinking with my brain instead of balls. I wouldn't run him again through gladesville that's asking for bigass trouble. This guy had a vent-to-air BOV, ricey EL pillar mount gauge, big wheels and the attitude to match. It made a lot of noise but obviously went no faster. No respect from me.

APS have a plug in Unichip with a super-trick harness to hack the 6T matrix. Someone somewhere's rolling with it.

Where: Victoria Rd, Top Ryde NSW When: Tonight, 10.40pm Result: XR6T ute got verrry FPV* whan his ass was whupped. by a good two carlengths (when i could safely check the mirror). Then decided to ride right alongside me for the next 3k's, throttling on the wastegate/BOV. I love these turbo Falcs. It's been a long time coming for the local industry & who wouldn't want that sort of massive torque ? But I didn't like the FPV attitude of this individual. Build a bridge man !! * Fu(king Pissed Vehemently - the desire to seek an alternative outcome to an already proven result, stemming from a basic inability to accept the truth: whupped by a 10 year old rice burner costing 1/2 the price & turning twice the necks This was a valuable lesson for me. Hope there's something in it for you

Erm, Funky I think you mean A'pex rather than HKS ? Thanks for the tip. Didn't know that !

Ooooh... I love suspense !

Eh? Who updated the BIOS ? How was it flashed ?? I've got 2.32a from a very early PFC & would love to update it :headspin: What's the gee oh, T ?

Thanks Bro, that's a top tip !

GiJor33, Drain your tank & refill it. One of the old blokes at my work has owned 3 servo's. BP,Shell & Mobil gurantee their fuel to be 98RON. When it leaves the refinery it is all 100RON. By the time it arrives in your tank they can only guarantee 98RON. That's what you call a clue. after 6 months... your guess is as good as mine. Not worth the risk IMO.

If Nissan spec'd a Bosch AFM, then for sure ! Glad to share this sorta stuff !

help please oh god some1 help meeee! =p
BigDatto replied to robert112's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Tell your Grandpa to do a compression test. If that checks out, your problem is most likely turbo related. Provided a wheel hasn't contacted a housing, it can be rebuilt & balanced to better than factory specs for very reasonable cost. Hope that helps ya out, Bro. -
Hi Brent, If you have no joy locally within the next fortnight, send me a PM.
-
Hi Everybody. It's a little known fact that the AFM harness/plug assembly from any 6cyl VL Commodore will fit a Z32 afm without modification. Don't get ripped $40 or more for a Tomei item. Of course you will need to splice it into your Nissan harness, solder, heatshrink & pack the lot with butyl or similar sealant, this is basic stuff. See the pic for pinouts.

Hi Geoff, The wheel & boss arrived today no dramas. Wow it's in very good nick !! About that Hicas lock. I'm going to PM another user on these forums who's very cluey with electronics to investigate the feasability of a 'bender' to fool the Hicas ECU, similar to the Tomei setup. No more Hicas warning light. Guys you can deal with Geoff with absolute confidence - and St Bernards are much quicker than Australia Post

Financial situation of Apex'i?
BigDatto replied to T0nyGTSt's topic in General Automotive Discussion
C's company has bankrupted. Big opportunities for B&M Racing. -
If I had ordered that kit & the manifold wasn't TRUST - chances are I'd be happy. I was chatting with John @ UAS not long ago & he advised me to steer well clear of trust manifolds as they are poorly manufactured compared to other JDM makes. Just an opinion, and not mine but do you think this guy has seen a few in his time ? Perhaps Garage Reckless agree, hence they provide their own 'bitsa' which is better... stranger things have happened. "Manifold expert mediation" is what I would be seeking before the Fairy Princess kicks magic dust in your eyes. My 2c Bro.

Means "same as previously stated" ie, AAC valve should be cleaned regularly. Dirty AAC valves are bad... ummmkay?
-
Yeah, particularly on the last lap you really gave it some stick Babalouie, esp @ Recaro. Awesome shit !!
-
1. Plugs, particularly gap 2. AFM - must be cleaned regularly 3. AAC valve - ditto solves 90% of "ECR33 nearly stalling when decelerating" issues. There are many many threads on these 3 fixes. Hope that helps your buddy !

Greddy Boostcontroller
BigDatto replied to GT 1's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Profec A works fine with RB25det. Best tuned on a dyno in 4th gear rather than 3rd as recommended by Greddy. Hope this clarifies -
Hi Jaws, If your AFM has a 6 pin socket you can use the afm plug/harness from a VL commodore - no shit. The hardest part is not chopping through the harness at your local wrecker, or him telling you "seeya next time" when you ask how much, or even soldering & sealing it into place. The hardest part is coming to terms with putting a Holden part in your Nissan. oops - just saw your avatar - no hard feelings, eh ? Z32 AFM----------Function-----------Holden VL (RB30xx)------------ECR33 A-------------------???----------------Yellow----------------------N/C B-------------------Signal--------------Orange/black trace---------Orange/blue trace C-------------------Chassis GND--------Blue------------------------Black/silver band D-------------------ECU GND-----------Grey*----------------------White/blue trace E-------------------+12v---------------Brown----------------------Black/white trace F---------------------------------------Black----------------------Not connected If this gets you out of trouble then I'm glad to have helped. For anyone with a Z32 AFM don't get ripped on a part from Japan for forty bucks - get it from anywhere for nothing :headspin: Ummmkay ?

Hi Matt, Thankyou & your crew for putting on such a great show. I love the GTP series as it's so relevant to the cars we drive - even more so with drift. I was at the dogleg & believe me you guys had everyone on their feet (more so than Nations cup/F3/V8Brutes) "Dad, are the drifters up next ???" the kids around me were repeating all afternoon. I have committed myself to getting a CAMS licence this year so... I better get myself some stiff coilovers & raid my local tyre joint's scrap pile. I think drift will put that silly grin back on my face that I've been missing for too long !

Hi everybody, I was at Oran Park yesterday for the latest GTP (or whatever it's now called) round. As well as the usual feast, there was a drift demo - and it was wayyy cool. S14's, s15's, 180's, Hachi's, an MX-5 and even a Monaro; they all put on a great show. Very popular with the kids. The trackside commentator was very well informed on the sport as well, dropping words like hachi roku, linking & giving an accurate assessment on the history of the sport & D1. He also mentioned that D1 competitors will be making an appearance at Oran Park later this year ! Does anyone have more info on this ? Thanks.
