  1. Ok the gauges have arrived, now, I got oil temp + water temp + boost.. Question is, in an R33 gts-t, for the water temp, do I just unplug the stock sensor, or can I run them both at the same time? What do other people do? Does the ECU need the water temp sensor to be plugged in??
  2. 2 Things, 1. the R33 engine manual is copyrighted and you can get in serious trouble hosting it.. 2. took me 5 minutes to find it on google.. so it's out there.. just goto look.. p.s. - don't pm me for it..
  3. ^^ That was quite amusing last time when mona ran VERY HIGH numbers.. all in the turbo!!.. Should be a good day, looking forward to it..
  4. Don't go to nissan, it's hard, but not that bad.. Just take your time, took me about an hour to pull everything abart before taking it out.. Another 30 mins or so to undo everything than get someone to help you.. A workshop will charge you about 4 hours or more of labour I reckon.. Give yourself a weekend and you'll have it out.. If you have any questions we're happy to help

    Deca Review

Come on.. where's the photos + vids.. looks like it was a great weekend!!
  6. Was just thinking the same thing.. anyone going?
  7. AHhh man, RIP, not a good one...
  8. LOL dave.. yes.. that's a problem LOL.. If you are going to get the input shaft bearing replaced you might as well look at getting the 1st/2nd gear synchro's done at the same time.. Mine's been bad for a year, but haven't got it changed, if you get an oil change and find bearings in or pieces of the bearing cage in the oil than that's not the best!!.. I would suggest taking it somewhere, and get a quote..
  9. On a side note did you say that the exhaust wheel is still the ceramic one? I would be cautious as to how much boost you run through it e.g. no more than 12psi..
  10. Hahaha love it trust..
  11. Sounds like it could be the input shaft bearing, this is shown by the clutch being out and the noise occuring.. (e.g. engine is engaged and rotating the input shaft) - does it change noise with revving the engine? I doubt it's the throwout bearing as this would usually do it when you push the clutch in.. Input shaft bearing is opening the gearbox, a new thrust bearing comes with most clutch kits.. Doubt its your diff.. Either way gearbox has to be pulled down..
  12. Hahahaha.. sorry.. now that i've finished laughin.. just did this about 3 months ago.. 1.. As above, strip everything out, 1st the handles above the windows, lights, rear vision mirror, both the sun blinds, than take the seat belts off.. Roof lining at the front isn't attached, at the back it has 4 metal clips that hold it in, if you pull down on the back of it where the rear window is it will pop out, just don't be too foreful.. To get this out, the passenger seats RECLINE all the way back, slide it forward than lean it back.. To get the sunroof out, pull the drainage tubes off, than make your way around the front undoing the brackets that hold it in.. Also - to get the roof lining out + sunroof out - you NEED 2 PEOPLE!!.. don't try this by your self, also put a towel over the dash.. it's not overly heavy just awkward.. any questions, let me know.. I've got a nissan servicing manual around here - but doesn't tell you how to get it out, just replace it.... Make sure you check everything is right before you put it back together as it takes some time.. NTB00_001.pdf
  13. Some photos of stepup..
  14. Pic of 2GU UP's car I guess.. http://www.crankroom.org/images/autosalon_...cture%20075.htm
  15. Would have to say check out pauls V-spec 2..
  16. No worries.. sorry I didn't take any of the skankie hoes, I know your dissapointed
  17. I've got some on my blog..
  18. Leasing companys wouldn't let you get a Stag as they will be too old - oldest the car can be is 5 years when you go on the lease, than you have to get rid of it by 7 I think.. Oh well.. all good things come to an end eventually.. Maybe start putting some R32 parts onto your XR6 lease
  19. I think it's the motor trying to open the valves so that it can change where the hot/cold air is routed.. Only way to fix it is to pull the whole dash out and it's known to be alot of effort.. it's been in other threads.. Amusing what you find.. here is the site with photos on what it takes to remove it and get to it.. I believe it's the heater unit motor trying to open.. http://gtr.ferni.net/misc/dash_removal/ Links
  20. Update, I went with the 3 din package from JustJap with oil temp/water temp and boost, i might get an oil pressure one seperately at a later date if I feel I need it.. I'm heading to thailand in september, so might pick up some decent ones over there to replace these!! Cheers for everyone's help, I think Oil Pressure + EGT will be the next ones to get, OR get a digital readout that can display all of them..
  21. Off the top of my head it sounds like the aircon vents are trying to open when you turn the car on.. Some other people might have more ideas, it's kinda common in older R33's..
  22. Ok cheers, so from what everyone says, water temp, oil temp, oil pressure... Looks like that's probably the go than.. I can get a boost one later as my stock one and turbo time are pretty much in line with each other and seem to be fine.. Has anyone used the autogauge ones with the warnings? are they configurable warnings...
  23. Evening All, I'm getting some gauges to put in for my R33, what should I get.. i'm thinking Boost, Oil Temp and Oil Pressure.. however i'm weighing up swapping the Boost for Water Temp as I have a turbo timer that doubles as a boost gauge with a memory for max boost (which isn't overly helpful).. I'm looking at the Just Jap Autogauges.. I'm looking at doing some track days.. And think that oil temp + pressure are pretty neccesary.. Also i'm guessing it would be better to get ones with warning functions.. Any thoughts would be great as I need to order them tomorrow morning to get them in time for the weekend to get installed! Cheers Links
  24. Hmmm interesting thread, will def watch and see what others say as this is probably a good way to run decent tyres on a track day without killing your street ones..
