  1. 8OOSTED (Matt) is no longer organising the insurance - however he got someone else who works there to look after it - search for this thread..
  2. usually around 10 or 11psi.. I wouldn't go above this anyways as the exhaust wheel will desintergrate.. it's all random.. some people hit 9psi and it R&R's..
  3. They are rare in the sense that they were the last of the R33's ever made.. Moanie - i'm cool for the moment.. thanks though.. I believe - appeox 1,250 were made in that run of R33's..
  4. SK, just been looking over the suspension buy and am thinking that I might look at doing it early next year (I know.. months away.. but heading to the US for a holiday).. 3 Questions.. 1. Currently I have stock wheels + suspension, and can just.. get out of my driveway without scraping.. What is the suspension height of a stock car versus what you recommend.. 345mm I believe.. Would it be better to look for some 17" wheels before doing this.. 2. Do you need to get the pineapple bush's replaced - or is there no need when you get new shocks + springs fitted?.. i'm a bit lost when it comes to suspension.. 3. Would it be best to get a HICAS locking kit for my car if I chose to get the suspension buy and is it best to get everything e.g. $2200 worth all at once, or can you do shocks + springs and get stabilisers later? appreciate any help, sorry if the questions seem stupid however i'm not 100% on suspension configuration + details..
  5. You'll need more than 4 litres if your doing the filter as well.. Do a search.. was covered recently in general maintence forum..
  6. Does anyone have a Canon EOS 350D - wondering what everyone's thoughts are on it..
  7. Yeah - def get someone at that place to check it out for you.. NRMA will do it and send you a fax with the details on it and mail it to you.. good for piece of mind.. as for the momo steering wheel - factory option for SII R33 and I guess R34.. Def replaced the handbrake + gearstick leather..
  8. Man.. you've had some bad luck.. Out of interest - was this a private sale? or through a RAWS workshop?
  9. Yes.. they do exist.. I have one + i think there is a couple of other floating around.. made in 05/98 Most are 40th anniversary, in fact haven't seen one that wasn't.. I would def check in Nissan FAST - this will tell you exactly when it was made (what batch).. They have a black CAS That's about the only way to visually identify them..
  10. Hmmm.. interesting.. cheers Sidd.. i'll have a chat to you online..
  11. Out of interest Chris why would you say that? regarding forget brant? One of the reasons for myself getting a brant alarm was that I didn't want someone stealing my keys and also the visual deterrant the keypad has.. Realistically if someone wants to steal it they will.. and it's fully insured.. but I guess anything you can do to protect your car helps.. I've been really happily with it.. only issue I have is the distance that the remote works.. it's terrible!!.. Have a look around see what you like.. if you were in qld.. def go and see Chris.. however I don't know about vic..
  12. Man.. fair go.. the guy was trying to do something that would go along way to protect his engine from overheating and in the process may have caused alot of damage.. last thing he needs is someone to tell him all the things he did wrong.. maybe it all looked fine.. felt like it was fine and probably drove like it was fine.. could have been anything and everyone makes mistakes, even you.. As for the engine, fill it back up.. take out the sandwhich plate.. maybe take it to a mechanic and get them to make sure it's alright.. hopefully won't be all bad and it wasn't completely dry.. good luck with it..

    Skyline Prejudice

Had an interesting one on the way out to do some work for my old boss in parramatta on sunday morning.. going through the toll gate paid my $3.80 just to get the guy to go "You heading out to the drift eh mate.. you gonna drift it out of here.. givee it a bit eh.." - I thought he said are you going to the drift - my response was to laugh once I realised what he had actually said.. Coming back home 2 hours later I heard 2 cars tear it off from the boom gate.. pretty stupid if you ask me.. Personally - never been pulled over by police.. And don't tend to attract much attention.. just give them a nod and purrrr off .. As for vtec yo hereos.. well.. that's their choice, I enjoy driving my car.. occasionally giving it a hit providing the traffic is good and try to not speed as much as possible.. In the end they will hopefully grow out of it before they hurt someone.. P-Plate laws are great as I think people need to learn to drive some less powerful cars before stepping into a skyline - even a N/A one.. That's my personal thoughts.. Although it blows me away that anyone with a L-Plate can drive them ..

    double post.. teh stupid internet
  15. Read page 1 and 2 of this one.. plus the rest for people's thoughts on it.. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...=78125&st=0
  16. Get the brant nemesis.. Search for Alan Jong.. he installs them.. around $1000.. it's a 6-point - but really.. 3-point + 3-point keypad.. Works well.. haven't really had any issues, only problem is the range of the receiver to unlock/lock the car.. about 2m..
  17. Are R33 power fc series dependant? e.g. do you need a different one for a SI vs. SII?
  18. Damn.. oh well.. No other skylines.. doesn't mean there were no other SAU people.. .. Sounds like it would have been good.. you end up driving?
  19. Very very strange.. anyways.. go and buy the $22 bleed valve.. works extremely well.. I eneded up doing this in stead of hacking up the wiring..
  20. Apologies everyone.. something came up that I couldn't avoid.. how did it go?
  21. Won't be able to make it.. 20mins till it starts if someone else wants my spot..
  22. That's awesome.. tells you when you've got "peak torque".. What mods does it have out of interest? how's it going to go getting complianced
  23. Is there parking nearby at all? or would it be better to train it in?
  24. I don't believe that this is what is happening.. Mine does it depending on how quickly my boost ramps up.. doesn't matter what RPM.. ease it in.. and it's fine.. flatten it.. it spikes.. and I get a slight dip than it comes back up.. Could be spark plugs getting blown out.. It's a stock motor - running 3PSI than the maximum all the way through the rev range.. that's what will do it.. say your spooling by 3,000rpm.. that's 5 or 6PSI (Double) what the ecu would be expecting to see.. that would explain why it R&R's.. HOWEVER there may be something else going on.. but I don't believe that it's the cams changing.. as I get smooth power all the way through the rev range in 3rd or 4th gear when easing it on.. even in 2nd.. Oh and my cars very stock except for the bleed valve
  25. Boost solenoid probably opens at 4,500 same as the R33.. The stock gauge is in mmHg.. e.g. +7 = 13.5PSI I believe..
