  1. Sounds like it could be the same thing.. It has 3 x bolts holding the glass to the feet which are attached to the rails.. I could get to 5/6 nuts.. but couldn't get to the 6th one.. I also checked out the S15 service manual which has a similar design sunroof and gives step by step guide on how to adjust and remove.. Sooo tomorrow morning i'm going to mechanics to get oil change + see if I can fix the sunroof.. I think i've got a similar issue to yours - in that a screw or one of the feet had broken.. Did you end up fixing it yourself - or did you need parts? Atelast if I can get it back to sitting level & not letting water in I can wait till parts arrive - otherwise it's no rainy driving for me.. Cheers Liz for the info - I think i'll clean it up as well @ the same time.. Ahh the price you pay for getting sunburnt..
  2. I'll be putting 8100 5W-40 in tomorrow when I do the oil change.. I'll let you know how it goes compared to penrite
  3. Ok - turns out the motor is still ok.. i've just been down mucking around with it for 30 minutes.. It appears that one of the feet that it slides on has probably lost a screw and because of that isn't a) moving straight.. and b) not working.. SOOOO.. the next question is.. how the hell do I get to the little feet thing.. i've goto take out the glass I think... Any ideas people?
  4. Cheers CC.. i'm going to go see my mechanic this arvo and i'll probably have a look at it later this week when changing the gearbox + engine oil.. The motor isn't completely dead, so there is a chance that something has just dried out and that the slidy rails are getting stuck.. it deteriorated quite quickly.. moved well.. than not as much.. than not really at all.. Cheers for the suggestion i'll try it out..
  5. Well.. as my luck never seems to get better it appears that the motor in my sunroof is giving up.. It will go up and down, however it doesn't have enough grunt to move it back and forth and I have to physically assist it.. I've rung nissan - $720 for a new motor.. What are peoples thoughts, is it worth taking to a sunroof place and asking them to have a look at it? Or what else could it be? maybe it needs a good bit of grease.. I'm getting frustrated with this car!!.. How easy would it be to get a second hand motor? Any help would be great.. cheers Links
  6. You mean you won't be riding on 20" chromes.. dropped on it's ass.. with a white baseball cap.. leaning right back to the point of not being able to reach the steering wheel.. dissapointed.. Well - personally - get something more than a 1.8ltr.. they are a little bit too small for the size of the car, parts are probably going to be a bit expensive.. but overall it's a good car I guess.. Haven't heard of too many issues..
  7. What do people think of Motul 8100 5w40?? I'm thinking of running this.. Going to pick up my oil filter today - nissan artarmon is close to work..
  8. Wow... awesome photos.. bottom one looks great.. you got a full size one for desktop?
  9. Hmm.. got my oil change coming up in the next couple of weeks.. been running penrite semi-synthetic, but might change to Motul 8100 5w40 as mechanic tends to get excited on charging me for oil.. Also - what filter do people reocommend? standard nissan one? or what
  10. I've got mine.. but it's way out of date I believe..
  11. provo - sorry to hear.. not good to see a picture of it either in the paper.. Are you covered by insurance for this sort of thing? or does it come out of your own picket - interested to know..
  12. Common problem.. yet no solution.. PAIN IN THE ASS.. mine comes and goes.. no idea..
  13. What boost is it running? As for the dimmer, they are no longer required for compliancing..
  14. Answers to first part of 1 & 2) throttle control.. Just because they are inexperienced doesn't mean they have to put their foot down all the time.. and 2psi isn't going to be too huge.. As for fuel consumption, well.. I wouldn't recommend a turbo and just drive off boost.. Answer for the 2nd part of question 1, you can do it.. I believe some of the guys tried it with the turbotech one, however found that it didn't work as exactly 2 psi and probably spiked a bit.. Personally if you have a stock turbo + stock ecu - run 10psi max.. running 11 will prob cause it to exceed the air flow threshold and Rich & Retard the engine.. Get a bleed valve and just run 9psi..
  15. Is the clutch working properly? or not at all?? Does it grind as if it's trying to change gears without the clutch depressed??
  16. I use 2 x things.. 1 is the max to see what it's spiking too.. and than I use the current real time boost display to see what it's running when your @ full boost with load.. e.g. up a hill in 3rd.. used a video camera to record it and review it while I was tuning it in.. Also if you slowly build the boost up rather than quickly slamming the accelerator and having it ramp up - it's less likely to spike and you'll be able to see what your running with a max boost setting
  17. looking forward to pics + a vid would be great
  18. Awesome.. Cheers for the photos.. yeah WRP 10.. unlucky.. i'd be pissed as well consider he would have had no idea what was going on.. Hmm snapped into reverse.. maybe it was an auto.. you can see the tire marks where it reversed...
  19. maybe the boost cut (afm detecting too much air flow) is kicking in if you have it cranked up to much.. what boost are you running? Is it a stock ECU or aftermarket?
  20. Stock gauge is good for making sure your making boost.. after that.. I wouldn't use it.. how do you know it's making 12PSI.. could be making 10psi not much difference on the gauge.. especially when driving.. Grab a boost gauge.. T it in.. than see how you go.. personally my turbo timer has boost as well.. and gives me a MAX reading which helps alot..
  21. ^^^ not any more.. As you're doing a R32 gearbox, you could try and get a hold of the R32 engine/repair manual.. it's the only one that has the gearbox details in it.. Actually.. just had a look through.. couldn't find it.. so there goes that idea.. there's an interlock ball.. and another one..
  22. after seeing how hard they drive the cars at events like powercruise - I personally wouldn't buy one from them.. and - and would anyone recommend some other alternative to a an inspector rather then NRMA you being serious?? Selling a car through them is probably different to buying one from them..
  23. Make sure there isn't anything restricting it.. maybe run a thicker hose so it presents less restriction to the wastegate..
  24. mine spikes to 10 on rapid acceleration in 2nd/3rd.. than settles to about 8psi.. if I ease the boost in.. it won't spike.. I think this is due to a rush of boost as it comes on and the bleed valve can't quite accomodate it quickly enough..
