  2. I believe it's called spy hunter..
  3. I guess i'll be doing it by hand.. don't have any polishing gear here.. hence my queries on what to use.. Hmm.. will go hunting this weekend.. Will using wet/dry sandpaper risk leaving a matte finish?..
  4. hmmm... personally I think take it easy on it, don't flat cahnge, your running a stock car.. just take it relatively easy and see how you go before you start flat changing & max revs.. unless you got a spare $2,000 lying around..
  5. It's been suggested that I use some wet/dry sandpaper with plenty of water to sand back the scratches, than work up to some coarse polish, than finish with some fine polish.. Would this work.. I've seen the meguires plastic-x or scratch-x - but I think i'll need something to sand back the scratches first.. hmmm brasso eh.. might have to look into it.. i'm guessing as you work your way thinner and thinner it should keep them clear.. Cheers Sounds like i've got a similar thing to you R33S2
  6. Morning Everyone, It would appear that the panel beaters who worked on my car possibly screwed my headlights.. not sure what they were doing, maybe they thought they were glass or something.. Anyways - they now have what appears to be some scratches with paint possibly in them from when they were respraying the front bar or - more likely polishing it.. I've read that alot of people used a "cut and polish" to clean the yellowness off the lights, and i'm wondering if I could use the same idea for the front of mine.. Can I get some ideas on what people think.. Maybe using extrememly fine sand paper - wet and dry maybe.. than use a cut and polish to polish it up.. i've never done this before, so any help would be great.. i'm guessing the cut will thin back any scratches than I have to sit there for a while polishing it up.. Cheers people.. Links
  7. They are probably very similar.. just different shaping, same base chassis I believe ( correct me if I'm wrong).. You can probably find it on the net somwhere..
  8. Yeah getting the remote locking keys isn't cheap as they have to get them from Japan I believe.. not worth it..
  9. I'm guessing the stagea's are like the R33 SII GTS-T.. although some have central locking from factory - NONE - repeat NONE have a chip in the key.. If you goto a decent lock smith (not just a small booth at the local shopping centre) - they should have a device that they can put the key into and it will tell them if it is chipped or not.. Had alot of trouble convincing a couple of locksmiths that you could get a blank cut.. also - doesn't have to be a specific key - once again - decent lock smith wil l have the right shape to match.. should be about $5
  10. was too wet.. decided to stay home
  11. Umming and rrring.. might come..
  12. I'll still be coming probably.. need to give the car a wash
  13. Cheers guys.. If anyone has the details on it that would be great.. anyone had an sound tests done.. if I get it replaced i'll keep my stock one in case of getting defected
  14. take it easy on the gearbox.. you can get the gearbox rebuilt.. or the synchros replaced.. just take it easy not a huge amount you can do.. maybe try some nulon treatment.. also when it's cold you can try going 1st (clutch in) -> N (clutch out.. blip.. clutch in) -> 2nd (clutch out).. this should make it a bit smoother when getting it into gear..
  15. JustJap/Steve, Can I get an idea of how many dB the full turbo back xforce exhaust is? Have you guys done any tests on ones you've installed?? Anyone actually - wondering whether it'd still be "legal" - 90dB (i believe) in NSW..
  16. Well.. got my car back, had 2 x bearings replaced in the gearbox.. i'm tempted to come.. very thin oil in it and don't wanna cause anything worse.. so i'll see how I feel tomorrow.. McCarrs creek sounds great.. hopefully i'll be along.. so we're heading up Forest Way, down Mona, than up McCarrs to newport.. Nice.. they took my nissan "S" off the front of my bonnet but now i've got a resprayed front bar for free
  17. Stock as a rock R33 you won't get past 6,800rpm.. that's the revlimiter from factory I believe.. also stick it on a dyno, find where you generate peak power and work from there.. not quite sure why this was called Damage to Gearbox..
  18. hmm.. my R33 box just got "fixed".. not looking forward to the bill tomorrow..
  19. Well.. its now the 29th May and I may have finally managed to get the problem sorted out.. Car was dropped off with the mechanic approx 3 weeks ago and counting.. Last week he gave it to a "gearbox guy" to take a look at.. rang him today.. informed me that they have replaced the input shaft bearing + the main shaft bearing.. am meant to be getting the car back on wednesday.. i'll update everyone than with what exactly they have done and how it feels..
  20. Does it whine in every gear? or just 1st and 2nd.. Have you changed the oil lately? noticed any teeth when you have? Maybe take it to a gearbox specialist.. they should be able to help you out..

  23. Well.. Aparently my gearbox has been "sub let" to a gearbox specialist to pull down and fix/rebuild (don't know what this is going to cost.. better not be much considering it's been 2 months since I put the car in to get fixed.. been off the road for a total of 6 weeks out of those 8.. SOOOOO it's meant to be getting returned on monday.. sooooo.. hopefully (cross fingers) i'll have my car back and can come out next friday.. SOOOOO EXCITED!!! haven't had a drive in fffffin ages.. They've had it for 4 weeks fixing the bonnet + gearbox..
  24. Maybe look at building a IEBC Bass Junky.. SydneyKid seemed to think it was half decent if I recall..
