Keep a Supra engine in a supra, and an RB in a Skyline.. If you want extra power in a Gts-t.. go and buy an R32 GT-R than you'll even it up.. what a skyline lacks sometimes in raw power, it makes up for round the corners.. ATTESSA.. and a couple of other areas.. Personally I would love a Supra TT - but for 40k i'd be hard pressed to not buy a R33 GT-R.. They are definately quite a nice car.. I love the look of them.. so sleek.. with a set of rims, lowered with no wing.. droooolling..

Sounds good Stan man.. you planning on coming on the Avoca cruise? check out the upcoming events.. I wanna see how it all goes now..
-
I think you'd be best getting it serviced approximately every 5,000kms as everyone suggests.. I've only done just over 3,000kms in it - but want to get some decent oils and so forth into it before the summer comes along and get it checked over. Yours would be worth checking that the timing belt has been changed - if I lived in castle hill I would possibly pay the full amount to get an excellant service done on it. or as everyone recommends Nathan.. On a car that's done 100,000kms without any thing for you to go on you probably want someone to check over it as there can be small things that cost you alot later.. Cheers

Well.. when we were at the dyno day with OCAU a supra running pretty much the same setup except it was running a SAFC2 and a boost controller I believe.. he reeled off about 240kw..
-
The main reason I probably won't end up going to UAS is the fact that it's in castle hill and i'm near north sydney.. working doesn't give me much time.. I realise he supports the site - that's the main reason I put this post up so I could get some feeback on what they are like.. Maybe if my car was more tuned i'd head over there.. just a bit out of the way.. Beer baron - did Eli mind you bringing your own oil's + filters.. was planning on getting it all myself for the engine, gearbox and a couple of other things and just taking them in..
-
Goto agree with the baron there - i got an NRMA inspection done, was excellant... the guy looked over every detail and found pretty much everything..
-
Thanks ferni, just wasn't too sure.. no wouldn't have a clue what my oil temp range is..
-
Well.. from what I looked at when buying my car the dealers didn't impress me, one of the ones that did was northshore prestige - ben was very helpful when I was looking at them, although their cars were slightly over priced (couple of 1k) and had strangely even numbers of km's on them for oldish (1996) cars.. I ended up going private sale for mine.. which was a great choice but didn't have a warranty with it.. if your in adelaide though a 3 month warranty is a long way.. really it's hard to say until you get there.. i'd suggest looking at some private sales if you get a chance 2.. lot of good cars for sale at the moment I believe..

SII set of headlights will cost you about $600 for the pair I think..
-
Glad you made it back in one piece.. unfortunately for bali people will no longer feel safe at all and no longer travelling there.. I'm leaving for thailand tomorrow for a holiday, although it isn't viewed as a target.. i'm still wary..
-
I've got an oil temp gauge on the left hand side of my cluster - it also has an oil pressure gauge on the right.. is the one on the left actually water temp?..
-
Can someone give me an indication of what the range is on the oil gauge for the R33 gts-t.. mine sits about 1/2 way around town.. than drops on the freeway when it's got some decent air flow.. As summer is coming was going to be keeping an eye on it and was wondering as I don't have the R33 owners manual (along with probably everyone else).. cheers
-
Nope unfortunately.. I was in my silver SII.. didn't get up there till about 4:00.. Also i'm sure Satanic will be up for it..
-
Chuckle.. well.. glad you all enjoy him as well.. were is Nathan based?
-
Thanks guys - some great advice - Beer Baron, I called up Polmar when I first got the car and was going to get a service but put it off, i'll probably give Eli a buzz when I am going to do it as he's about 10mins away from me while UAS is about 1hr.. And I agree ECR033 on the point being that my car is pretty much stock except for Cat back and any decent mechanic should be able to look after it.. I'll hold off on UAS till I start modifying it.. that's when I feel it's probably worth getting someone who works on them a fair bit to check it out.. Cheers Guys.. btw - has anyone had their car serviced at UAS?
-
I was up there on the weekend Plenty of places to eat up there - couple of cafe's.. couple of burger joints.. couple of petrol stations in gosford as well.. If worst comes to worst - stop off at maccas - get food than role on down to Avoca - but there is plenty of places to eat.. Sounds great.. could be hot - but was thinking on the way home the other day - would love to have a rip along the old pac.. I'll be back from thailand - so should be there.. Links

Morning everyone, I'm currently looking into where I am going to get my car serviced and was interested in knowing if anyone has had theirs done at UAS. This will be my first major service on the car, and as much as I could do it myself, I would like someone to check it out in case there are any things i'm not aware of. I'm looking at a standard service + extras for oil and so forth which comes to about $380 for a service which includes flushing engine oil and coolant I believe + I want to get the gearbox oil changed as I doubt it's been done for a while.. I also realise UAS is a member on this forum, i'm happy for feedback from yourself as to how long a general service takes.. Was also after what people though after it was done and whether it is worth paying that much or going to a smaller mechanic more local to myself.. Cheers, links

you also work for shannons.. i'm sure that doesn't hurt..

Need Insurance? Want Cheaper Insurance?

^^ I'd be pretty insulted by that.. if you weren't an enthusiast you wouldn't be buying a Skyline would you.. Where abouts do you live btw daniel.. i'm guessing it's not sydney with that quote -
traffic this weekend has been some of the best ever on the north shore.. no traffic last night.. no traffic this morning.. awesome.. wish it was like this all the time.

From the sounds of it you've made it so that the solenoid isn't grounded and it's just running it at 5psi.. which is about .35bar.. Double check what you did.. I think that would be the issue.. make sure the right wire is grounded.. and you chopped the correct one..
-
For most tyres people recommend 32psi.. 43psi is ALOT.. wonder why they recommend it, i'm sure there is a reason.. Yeah.. on average i've heard about 32 - 35 is a good balance on tyre wear + grip.. if you run them to high they don't wear evenly accross the tyre I believe..
-
Chuckle.. amusing Buster.. Should be out this week for general sale i'd say..

R33 ecu is quite hard to retune, what they tend to do is use an R32 gts-t ECU and adapt it to fit, however i'm not sure that this goes for SII r33's.. not worth it, when you can get a Power FC..
