Sorry to hear considering it looks like you had it for sale.. good luck with tracking it down.. Links

Mone does this - however not constantly.. it'll pop 3 or 4 times. when I back off the accelerator.. even 10/15 seconds later.. my thoughts are excess fuel being burnt + the temperature of the engine.. similar with restarting when warm.. has issues occasionally and dives down to 500rpm sometimes your issue seems to be a bit more hightened.. Could be a faulty sensor somewhere would be my thoughts.. see if it does it this week..

No worries Joh - AF man.. don't look @ the fly - count @ the rear wheels .. As for spark plugs and so forth - depends on what year the car is... everyone recommends oil + filter + spark plug change- depending on where you get it from if it's just been compliance oil + filter should have been done.. Good luck with it..

Stan - nice work mate - definately higher than when we were at DAT wasn't it.. Makes me wanna do some stuff.. however i'll hold off.. i'm happy with 156kw.. $160 + SAFC2 + Intercooler + Turbotech = 40kw gain.. can't complain there.. any more than that your $$'s start going up I think.. careful of the tranny as everyone said.. enjoy mate..

Gave a thumbs up to AMN-*OQ I think it was.. gunmetal or black R32 gts-4.. near lane cove.. that's about it really..

full inspection +emissions test done in nsw is at the penrith rta not sure about that - I think there is a number of places - one of which includes Botany RTA. Just call up the RTA - i'm sure they'll happily point the way.. Alot of new imports when registering get a full AUVIS inspection done before the registration is passed to make sure compliancing was done correctly..

"The CCNA test is about an afternoon worth of study for anyone who has ever used a router before and knows basic math.".. yeah.. kinda.. not really.. MCSE - yeah sure it's useful, but everyman and his dog knows atleast some microsoft.. - you start looking at high level cisco and not everyone knows it.. sure ccna is easy - but look at heading to CCSP or CCVP where your a VoIP or Security specialist.. that's a good start.. Main reason to get CCNA - you have to have it to get your CCNP.. that's about it.. ain't worth crap all apart from that.. Goto say what merli says is pretty much right.. You need to break it down.. what are do you want to get into - design, support, provisioning, installs.. theres alot of options and you'll have to start somewhere.. as for my vote - I say CCNA - it's more interesting I find.. currently I work with cisco gear everyday - however it's all remotely - which is both good and bad.. ranging from cisco 800's to cisco 7200's.. all interesting and love my job..

Need Insurance? Want Cheaper Insurance?
Links replied to two40's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Because your car is probably valued in the low 30's.. while mine is 21k.. That's an extra 1/3rd.. hence the higher premium.. + parts.. + location.. + about 50 other factors.. btw - I pay $2000 -
Pretty sure once it's declared a write off that's it.. not much you can do as the VIN gets listed as a write off.. However - I think you'll be surprised on parts.. make sure the chassis hasn't been bent at all.. I'm surprised from the list of damage that everything is fine.. any chance of more details on the incident and what happened?

hmm.. turbo timer is illegal in NSW - do you think they would award it or not?

^^ wouldn't say SII are ugly..

Keep spotting White R34 Gt-t parked near the Ultimo Tafe.. ARN-*** keep parking behind while waiting for the g/f

Most cars run through a self diagnostic when they start up.. it's when they don't light up you get worried .. nah it's normal.. hicas & abs & oil will all come on.. than go off.. oil should go up to about 6 until it's warmed up.. than head down to about 2 - 4 operating pressure.. glad you enjoy the manuals..

Insurance companies use a market bracket system - what year is your car? they also look at how much you paid and than come to an agreement with you. My 1998 R33 has a market value bracket of $20,000 - $23,000, unless yours is similar to this - I would expect the market value to be the same. Unfortunately that's how they work - you will also find that the following year the market value will drop.. it's the way it goes.. If you feel it is worth more - than you need to have a chat to them and possibly they will raise it, thing is it will be difficult to get it above the bracket for market value..

How old are you? How long have you had your license? Have you had insurance before? I'm 22 - with Just Cars - 50% no claim - $2000 insured for $21,000.. welcome to Sydney and it's insurance prices.. not much you can do.. Sorry if i'm sounding rude - but unfortunately if you own a turbo import that's what they charge.. alot of places won't touch them - NRMA and AAMI for one.. NRMA - must be sold in production in Australia AAMI - default you to Just Cars as they underwrite them.. Famous - have trouble competing with Just Cars if you haven't had insurance before as they won't give you a decent no-claim..
-
Not sure that you can "track it" - more so they just lock it out so that the person can't make any calls and is barred from networks.. pretty sure..

Look at Stan's blog.. ever since that Dyno day he's gone ballistic.. I just don't have the cash.. otherwise.. i'd be doing it as well..

Anyone Got Some Cash Lying Around?
Links replied to 88silhouette's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)

Turbo's tend to not start making boost until they are spinning at 20,000rpms.. main use for the turbo timer is if you've been driving on boost for a long duration of time, the heat generated by the turbo is huge.. if you than pull up.. stop the car.. turn it off and walk away it has to disipate the heat somehow.. it's meant to stop the oil from sitting in the turbo and causing some side effects, not exactly sure what they are but when your driving you constantly have a cool air flow going past the turbo.. Think it's heat soak in the oil - can have bad sideeffects.. As for legalities - they are not legal in N.S.W. - main reason for this is a) it's illegal to leave a car running while you are not within the vehicle and B) in the case of an accident, if you have a turbo timer when the car crashes the engine/power will not shut off straight away which could either keep the engine running or the power which could cause further injury. Before you complain - I have a turbo timer in my car which doubles as a boost gauge.. quite useful.. also - to answer your question - most turbo timers that automatically pick a duration to stay on go on how long you've been on boost for.. if it's >0 vacuum it will start adding time to the count.. mine frequently gets up to 20+secs which really would only matter if I turned off the car then and there..
-
I would possibly suggest putting the car on a dyno and see what the A/F ratios are doing.. this should also help a mechanic diagnose what the issue could be
-
Nope it's in the newsagent today.. It's got a green car on the front + dvd. Was in chatswood at the time.. so should be in the city somewhere
