Unfortunately i'll be away for the Level 1 otherwise I would definately come. I've done the finlay one - however really want to do a level 2/3 advanced course. Any recommendations? I'm pretty sure finlay's don't do an "advanced" one.. only the cams and normal.. Want to do it before it heats up as well..

try downloading the R33 service manual from my server.. details below it will have it in there.. i'm pretty sure you won't get full boost if you block the solenoid.. way it works is the solenoid opens letting less air get to the wastegate actuator and hence it doesn't open as early.

in that case I suggest you use search.. Could be the coils are cracked.. what type of car.. how old.. more info

looks good mate.. the bleed valve does an alright job.. what you running it at ~12psi. A/F ratios are pretty good - 12's all the way.. nice work..

How much is it for a rechip.. What software do you use to do the modifications? i'll probably shoot you an email at some stage for some further details. My car currently has A/F of about 10.5 when under full throttle.. I was under the impression that this was a bit rich.

Toshi - have you been able to reprogram the R33 ecu? I've been told: R33 uses a plcc style processor, and not an eprom. And there are also no header pins to install an aftermarket rom board How are you able to change what is stored on the chip?

Make sure you run a Nissan FAST check on it to make sure it matches the VIN.. never can be too careful..

Was just about to say what munna said.. petrol is just starting to climb.. i'd almost reconsider buying my gts-t if petrol was that price when I got it.. luckily it's not a daily driver.. the fact that there is a large number of available cars out there makes it hard.. your never going to get a good price from a dealer.. that's the way they work.. they rip you when you trade in your car.. and they rip you on whatever you buy.. i'm sure someone will come along.. there's a new enthusiast born every day.. good luck

Hmmm.. $1015 for a power fc is still looking like a good option.. best choice would be to get the software.. from "somwhere.."..

I don't think it's impossible to re-chip an R33 - there is no reason why it wouldn't work.. Thing is - you need the appropriate software + hardware.. you don't want to screw something and lean your car out while on a dyno. i've looked into it a bit more - if you want to pull out your ecu - desolder it and put a zif slot in it'd help with the ease. It isn't neccessarily hard.. i think it's more that you need to know what you are doing.. as long as you know what all the high and low throttle maps.. k value and about 20 other things mean.. than go for it.. i'd be interested to see how well you can tune back the A/F ratio.. one main advantage is that it's legal.. there is no way for you to get defected.. vs a power fc unfortunately isn't.. http://ashspecz.com/ashspec/zem/zem.htm is a commercial chioce.. tuning with a cable in your rom chip clot would be the best way - especially on a dyno.. you could run trace maps and work out what's doing what.. and easily adjust.. anyways.. that's my thoughts..

normally.. i tend not to do anything.. it's just not worth the petrol.. until the other night heading home had a spankin new Audi S6 4.2L having a go.. was the best fun i've had in a while.. some 50+ yr old guy havin a good time.. that's about it though.. otherwise I just cruise along.. get to the lights.. zip past in the outer lane.. and continue on my way..

G/f doesn't like the ride, doesn't want to drive it.. thinks it's too noisy.. and thinks i'm too precious about where I park it and how long it takes me to do stuff.. but than again she's also understanding that I enjoy the car.. so I guess it's alright..

I've got 16" protenza's III on stock rims.. they're good 90% of the time in the wet... however give them any stick in 2nd you'll be having fun up the road.. also going around an off camber roundabout in 2nd.. they decided to let go.. combine with a LSD and they both started spinning.. alright though.. just back off and it's snaps back.. personally I need some wider tyres.. but I think the protenza's are alright..

I'd suggest doing 3 before 2.. if for some reason you can't undo the filler plug.. your in some serious sticky diff oil with no way to fill it up.. just an observation..

My SII made 156.5rwkw - it's stock except for cat back.. it's a 1998 R33 SII.. Doodz R33 made 158kw the same day..
