Going back to a S13 after having a R33
Links replied to scottman's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Saw you talking about this on nissansilvia.com as well - your choice - you've got your reasons - some of those being the exact reason why I got the R33 - bigger, better brakes, better ride - however do agree with costs.. not cheap on the fuel bill - but damn fun.. Good luck with it all.. -

That's cool - wasn't have a dig - just voicing my thoughts - great job - saw that he was banned quite quickly.. -
Sciby - not a problem glad I can help out.. as long as I have an interest in the forums and also in I.T. myself i'll keep the server up.. I'm only getting 20gigs a month at the moment - and I feel this is enough - however we've used 85% at the moment with another 10 days to go so it might go down for a couple of days - but it'll be back next month.. If you would like to discuss this with me regarding upgrading the plan - i'm open to options and I can give you details of the hosting i've got. Cheers, Links

I got a brant installed in my car last weekend - i was damn hungover.. - great guy as lwells said - took him about 3 hours to install it - everything works perfectly - still a couple of little things i'm learning - always check the red light - if it's on.. don't turn the ignition or people look at you while your alarm screams at you.. ... but yeah - did a great job - i've got a turbo timer - doesn't have any issues at all except if I arm it while tt is running - than disarm it - the engine is killed - not to sure only done it once.. as for the range - yeah it's crap however whys it matter - it auto arms if you walk away and forget to lock it - and unless your really need to open your car 50m away - it's not an issue.. anyways - give him a buzz.. How many Kms has your R33 travelled?
Links replied to dd4321's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
~70,400 - 98 R33 gts-t.. -
MickieB if you are after the service manual for the R32 RB20DET than I suggest you get the R32_All_engine_manual.pdf off my server as this has all the engines. As for the chassis and things like that, i'd get the R32 GTR service manual and see how you go with that - it should have a fair bit of stuff.

Seems to be quite hard to find, i've been looking around, i'll check what's up and see what I can do..

Hey Mods, Getting a bit sick of people who come on and post ads offering "phones from $190" blah blah blah.. not sure what you can do about this, it's very hard to mod these people, i'm hoping that you are removing posts and banning them.. apart from that - no ideas/complaints.. just sick of people doing ^^ Links

Just letting you know flipnot that the stock SII r33 1998 don't have any form of alarm or immobiliser in them. They have central locking.. and.. that's about it.. I've just had a brant fitted to mine which is good, but value for money i'd recommend the mongoose system. I would suggest an alarm anyways as there is nothing stopping someone stealing the car. The ignition barrel is not chipped either, no matter what people tell you - the key you have only has central locking, that's it - if you need one cut, just tell them you spoke to nissan and it doesn't have a chip, ppl don't like it when you tell them - however it's the truth. I've got the '98 R33 so if you've got any questions feel free to pm me.

50,000km Service. What to do?
Links replied to tdsepco's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Timing belt, and apart from that - get the dyno done, see how everything goes and get a tune done if you have an aftermarket ecu.. that's not really to do with services though.. -

Some 'general' questions about R33 GTS's
Links replied to micky b's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Hope your aware that if your mods are illegal and you log a claim they have the right to void your claim.. just pointing out.. I got comp. with just cars for about $2000 on a gts-t.. which is quite good.. mate had a gts series 1, was still a nice car, went pretty quick even though it was N/A.. as for auto's, i'd wait - get a basher for a bit, than save up.. if you want an N/A why not look at other cars like integra's.. less of a hassle.. -
Mongolian BBQ is great in chatty.. also parking is free for 3 hours @ the chase or the westfield pretty sure, work just near there.. so could be keen to come.. bit scared though.. never met anyone ..

Why do I sound happy - well because going on normal belt changes being 80k - 100k I was worried that my clock had been wound back, I now have pretty good belief that it hasn't been.. I'll get the belt inspected when I get the car fully serviced otherwise it will be changed in an 80,000 - 90,000kms service.. car is going perfectly well, is in great mechanical condition and doesn't currently need it. I think the k's were appropriate for the year of the car more so than 80% of cars I see for sale out there - also the interior and standard of everything appears to match them.. just wanted to know what the sticker should look like.. after reading HPI last night - the bonus copy from last year that i got with this months they had a small description of the sticker hahahaha <- random chances.. the sticker will have the Odometer reading on it as well as the year that it was changed. i'll post up a picture..

Try getting the latest version of adobe - it's linked on the page for download - they all work.

You also have to rememeber that your taking a huge risk - if the police come knocking at your door and impound/take your car - there is not a thing you can do about it.. stolen/rebirthed cars are able to be taken without your permission.. Rebirthed cars are just a massive hassle, if they have been reported stolen, you buy it and go and register it your in trouble.. car could have been reported a write off - you don't know.. personally steer clear of it.. check the vin with subaru possibly and see what they say..

This was the one posted by lwells.. looks a bit different, looks like it has been written on..
-
Excellant.. cheers guys - just wanted to make sure - the one lwells posted appeared to have something written on it with pen/etched and a number more lines.. Would make sense that this is justa warning to remember that it needs to be replaced.. PHHHHEEEWWWW... cheers..
-
Evening people, after having seen a conversation started in a different thread, lwells posted a pic with a timing belt sticker on it that indicates it has been replaced.. the one posted below is from my car, could someone please confirm/translate what this sticker says/means. Is it a sticker saying it must be replaced - or that it has been replaced.. it looks slightly different to the one lwells posted.. Appreciate it.. Thanks, Links

would you pay a $500 deposit to test drive a car?
Links replied to [D4RKS1D3]'s topic in General Automotive Discussion
I can understand people wanting a deposit - but just quietly I don't walk around the streets with over $500 in my pocket when test driving.. i don't trust anyone in sydney.. if I don't have to take out $500 to test drive a car - i won't.. i'll go somewhere else if they want it - if someone wants the right car they are going to be prepared to wait, and hence walk away from it.. pentae your looking from a sellers perspective, i'm looking from a buyers.. in regards to dealers - any that want a deposit, won't usually be prepared to take you for a drive, usually they are worried your a) going to steal the car off them B) your wasting their time.. as for private, unfortunately I don't know about selling a car yet - only about buying.. not having a go - just giving you my thoughts..
