^^ Will do mate, not driving it overly hard, this car's cost me alot of money.. so i'm not in the game of breaking things.. Driving it to enjoy - occasionally giving it a bit, gonna take it kinda (yeah right) easy until I can get my A/F checked as it's backfiring a bit off throttle after a thrash.. i'll ask him what he's putting in - might get 10W40 put in.. but i'll see what he says.. Going to be changing oil every 5,000kms/6 months, whichever comes first..
-
Not yet mate that's booked in for next week sometime.. Should be ok :uhh:
-
What castrol oil should I be putting in my engine - it's 98 R33 gts-t ppl?? Castrol Synthetic? which one though - also has anyone used the Castrol Magnatec?
-
Richard/Beerbaron - have booked in a service with Polmar, spoke to Eli, nice guy, i'll let everyone know how it goes.. Getting Engine oil, diff oil, gearbox oil, radiator coolant and sparkplugs replaced..
-
Here is the second thread, it's in the NSW forum.. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=79318 This one is a bit longer though.. so i'll keep posting in this one (as I started it 2).. Beerbaron suggested: Polmar motors in artarmon
-
I keep chuckling to myself, everytime I ask for places north, people suggest ones further away.. Anyways - this probably needs to be done anyway - finding the best places for servicing in sydney. If I find the other post - as ^^ lwells was trying i'll link this one into it or the other one in here..
-
I've been told about UAS before.. won't be going there + they are a long way from where I am.. Might look into DB4's.. there is another thread almost identical to this one.. might try and get it moved over.. anyone know anywhere in Artarmon - Chatswood - Hornsby area? has to be some..
-
Thanks beer baron, i'll have to take a look at them, might drop in on sat and have a chat with Eli and find out prices..
-
Cheers Victor, i'll look into giving them a call.. At the moment i'm going to do the following myself - 1. Spark Plugs, 2. Engine oil change, 3. gearbox oil change.. I'll take a look at my car and decide, they are in order of difficulty 2.. I should be alright, done some previous mechanical stuff + have a decent idea, just want to be sure, so goto find someone that will help me learn, or see if I can stick round @ a mechanics while he does everything.. Gladesville is a bit far from where I wanted to go (wanted somewhere I could drop it off to on the way to work), but i'll have to see - and find out how much it is.. Cheers, Links

Same for me - anywhere up on the north shore would be good.. sorry to hijack danh - will be interested to see where ppl recommend..
-
Think from what others have said in previous threads - best to get it towed on a flat bed.. Atleast I would.. wouldn't be just startin it up and driving away..

Do all the sydney guys tend to service their cars themselves??
-
So far just been taking it easy for the first 5 till the car warms up and the oil pressure evens out @ 2kg/cm^2.. than at the end I tend to take it early coming back into my place.. also - what's oil pressure meant to sit on.. i'm guessing about 2kg/cm^2 normal cruising, than when I boost for a bit heads up toward 4kg/cm.. anyways - yeah take it easy for the last couple of minutes.. + get a minute or so while I open the garage door..

Was behind GTR-91T this afternoon when cruisin down the pacific hwy... did 310km this weekend in my new car.. Loved it - had 3 bikes come up behind me @ artarmon.. gave it a bit - had 2 of them pullin mono's in front and behind me.. love it..
-
you'll find that they only vary by 2 or 3 $'s across the board

The V-spec models were created to celebrate everytime nissan won a significant race event - usually JGTC.. If you go to the japanese nissan site and look through old news articles you can usually see.. anyways - that's a bit off track lol..

Hey ppl, as some of you would know I recently (last couple of days) got my new car.. While it is running well I still would like to get some oils changed on it at get some new spark plugs in it as I know for sure that the compliancing guys did not replace the spark plugs, or the gearbox & diff. oil (they aren't required to).. I'm wondering if you could recommend a good mechanics/workshop on the north shore in sydney that I could take it to and get the following done. 1. Spark plugs replaced with new copper ones (they are still the jap ones) 2. Engine, gearbox and differential oil changed 3. Radiator coolant flushed and replaced From what I can tell this is a good start for a car that has come from japan.. everything is running sweet, only thing is when giving it a bit of stick tends to backfire when coming off the throttle.. that's about it - could have something to do with exhaust + possibly running a bit rich?? no carbon on the exhaust or on the rear of the car though.. Also - an estimated cost + time to do each of these would be great.. I do realise I could do all of these myself, however I don't have the tools or the garage area to do it. I mean - if someone wants to offer their services for a day I would love it, otherwise i'll drop it in somewhere.. from the top of my head - would take a couple of hous to get this done, draining all the shit out is easy, but has to be done before the spark plugs are done if it's on a hoist.. so prob 2 hours would have thought for a decent mechanic(maybe more?/less?) Also - what oil's are recommended for each? should gearbox + diff be the same? Look forward to the info - cheers, Links

Identify this mystery factory speaker
Links replied to LBR33's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
you tried unplugging it - or hooking it up to something lol.. see what comes out -
Haven't got anything fitted yet, but still deciding.. could be advantages to both, would rather not have the attraction of the chirp.. but we'll see..

Do you drive a manual or an automatic car?
Links replied to TracidTrax's topic in General Automotive Discussion
goto agree - neither spastic or female.. LOL.. yeah - manual here.. wouldn't dream of driving anything else at this stage in life.. -
You referring to the gear box?? such as the whine when you have it in gear of the shaft/gears? or is it a different kind of whine?

^^ Cheers for the info mate.. anything extra on what the 40th anniv cars had would be great!.. Just got home from driving - been taking it pretty easy, really want to give it a good service - + had the g/f in the car with me.. Went well, once again - front bar scraped a tiny bit.. so i'm going to have to work on entry.. took it at a good angle - fine getting out - just getting in that's a pain.. great car - love it.. goes weel - + it's so cold outside tonight & with jap radio (e.g. no radio) was just lovin listenin to it spool.. than release.. awesome ride.. time for sleep..
