  1. Could always get into something like the dutton rally.. i'm sure there is one in brisbane that is similar.. http://www.duttonrally.com It's a tarmac rally and goes for 3 days over june long weekend.. anyways.. looks interesting..
  2. How much does it cost to get a Mongoose M80G fitted in sydney - mainly on the north shore? Does anyone have someone that they recommend? In regards to brant alarm systems - you can still get them installed - they are installed by private installers that used to do them for brant directly. They will install the 3-point and the 6-point nemesis ($890 - if you are with Justcars). They also offer a 3 year warranty (i believe) and will come to you and install it.
  3. Sounds good to me.. i'll have to go and check it out.
  4. Hey everyone.. I was wondering if someone could please post a list of tools that are found in the Factory R33 SII skyline toolkit. The car i'm purchasing is missing the toolkit, however has the Jack which is good.. I'll probably just got to a tool store and purchase the apprpriate tools that I need.. Cheers, Links
  5. Alot of this comes down to common sense.. You can't teach someone the limits of what they are doing. You can't teach them that "when your doing 130 in a 60 zone.. that's 2 fast".. A huge problem is driver education.. someone who has been properly taught how to drive, tends to respect their cars and themselves alot more.. Until recently I had never driven a turbo perfiormance car, plenty of others, but not a turbo.. You need to respect the power that these cars have, and at the age of 18 - that is very hard to do when you have 3/4 mates in the back egging you on.. I don't neccessarily agree with the limitations on engine size - that doesn't fix shit, all it means is the age bracket moves up 3 years to 21.. - this doesn't suddenly make people a better driver.. what needs to happen - is people need education.. I think they should have compulsory Driving courses before you get your license.. believe me it doesn't hurt and it's saved me a number of times.. one when I was being completely stupid and another when something unexpected happened.. if not compulsory - give people an incentive to do them.. the sad fact is, you can't teach someone common sense.. it's just not possible.. after losing a very close friend in a car accident recently (last month) i feel stronger about this than before.. common sense - it'll get you a long way in life..
  6. ^^ didn't realise that, pity.. was hoping to get one installed.. might have to start looking into other ones..
  7. Brant site says that they are $600 fitted.. not sure how they have gone into receivorship if they are providing all subaru WRX with a Brant keypad alarm.. that seems a bit hard to believe..
  8. What do people think of the Brant alarm systems?? http://www.brant.com.au/html/carsec.htm THis was actually what I was after, and will probably look at getting one installed, than adding something like ezitrack at a later date..
  9. At the moment - might look into something like a MONGOOSE M80G.. something along those lines for the time being? many ppl use systems like these?
  10. Would it be useful to use something like this in combination with a different immobiliser system? http://supraforums.com.au/forum/showthread...goto=nextnewest has a good description of it.. http://www.rojone.com.au/bandit/ezitrak.html web link for it..
  11. $1200 - $1300.. hmm interesting.. well goto say, does do a huge number of different functions. At the moment though I don't think I have quite that amount of $$$'s, but is something that I might look into in the future.. If someone ripped off the keypad, wouldn't it disable it completely.. otherwise.. really.. it would defeat the purpose.. personally don't know - just wondering.. Are there any other options that are <$1000.. i know - should spend more, however I don't have an endless supply of money and it's gonna cost me about $5000 to get on the road in the first place..
  12. So I need a mobile + sim card, what stops a thief from ripping out the mobile phone - out of interest.. Keypad is probably more of a deterent.. means if someone steals my keys they can't just unlock/disarm my car and drive off in it.. What's the price of quicktrak and ezitrack - for the unit and than for installation.. Need to get this organised soon.. put a deposit down for the car.. woot...
  13. Hey people, am currently trying to find out information regarding what the best alarms are to have installed. I'm after one which has a Keypad and is atleast 3-point immobiliser. Could you please recommend some to me, as well as sites/locations in sydney (probably on the north shore) where I could get them installed. Any information would be great, i've tried searching, didn't find a huge amount though. Thanks, Links
  14. $44,000.. in the post above you..
  15. See if you can interpret this http://www.nissan-global.com/EN/DOCUMENT/P...3/ff2003_17.pdf R34 GT and GT-T started in May 1998, R34 GT-R started in Jan 1999
  16. There was a production overlap, as the R33 phased out the R34 was also being produced.. found a good diagram, see if i can find it again..
  17. Think you can run it up to about 12PSI than you start to run the risk of damaging it due to ceramic blades in it.. (I think that's about right)
  18. How's that work out of interest.. now matter if your getting higher flow, the solenoid should still open the wastegate @ 7psi to vent excess boost.. hmm interesting.. better exhaust usually just means you get a quicker spool up doesn't it??
  19. Do many ppl have issues with this in regards to insurance. Justcars said "providing it is legal".. means i'm going to have to get it removed possibly.. hmm..
  20. Ok, I contacted the RTA. Here is the response from them Just thought everyone might be ineterested.
  21. I think there is also the other aspect of people stealing your car.. not too sure, i'll ring the RTA today and see what they say.
  22. Yeah - see that's what i'm slightly worried about - just cars said " as long as it is a legal turbo timer it'll be fine, best to contact the RTA".. if they feel that it was not legal, they hold all right to null the insurance contract
  23. Hey ppl.. Quick question - are turbo timers legal in NSW. If i'm getting a car registered for the first time will it be an issue. From what I had heard, it's illegal to leave your car when it is running, which is what happens when you use a turbo timer. Forgive my ignorance ..
  24. Probably a 1000 reason's why it's cheaper.. As for insurance for 17 year old. They won't like you because you have no driving experience "on record" you could be the most amazing driver in the world.. unfortunately doesn't matter, your still only 17. I'm 22 and most places quote $2000+ for fully comp and that's with a 50% no claim. All I can say is.. get 3rd party.. and be damn careful. It's not you - that you should be worried about, it's the other people with 3rd party that run into you.. than the shit hits the fan..
  25. Yeah usually 6900 on gts-t's isn't it..
