I think I got the idea from a Simpsons episode where there was a 'discostu' character.

ferni - no probs mate. No need to apologise. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion. If that is your car in your avatar it looks like you have one sweet GTR. How long a lease did you take out? Mine is for 5 years. The insurance setup we have through my company is awesome it doesn't matter how old you are, where you park the car or anything. As long as the finance amount is under $55K you will pay $500 per year. Really to good to pass up. I would have really liked to have stretched myself to get the STI but decided the WRX hatch would do the trick. Cheers

Hey Andy, Yeah we're planning on going out in the morning to drift day and then I've got a sled dog race on in the arvo so might catch up with you later on in the evening. I'll give you a call and see what's happening. Cheers

thanks for the feedback guys. ferni - each to their own mate, no problems if you don't like it. That's why everybody has different cars. Not sure if I am supposed to take offence to the 'looks like a girls car' comment. Looks aren't everything and I think over the years the WRX has proved itself time and time again performance and handling wise. It would be a pretty boring world if everyone was driving around in the same cars. Yeah I don't really like the bugeyed WRX's either, hence my decision to get the brand new rex which has the revised front and rear lights. Having spent the last 10 years or more hanging around Nissan clubs and the cruise seen I don't think the Nissan blood will ever leave my body. And I plan on hanging around with the SAU crew for as long as I'm welcome. The lease is through LeasePlan. My lease also includes insurance (done through my company) that I don't think anyone could come close to beating. I'm only 26 and the premium is only $500 per year. That was another reason for taking the lease option as there would be no way I could warrant spending huge dollars for insurance on a WRX. It's not that I couldn't get an import. Just didn't want to I've already had one and as I said I wanted a brand new car that I could be happy in for the next 5 or so years and the new WRX got the guernsey. It's bloody quick as standard, the 4 doors is so bloody practical and it handles pretty damn well. I choose the hatch as I didn't really like the lines of the WRX sedan. It just doesn't look quite right to me. And besides I do some sled dog racing with my dog 'Nismo' and it's so practical to have the hatch to throw all the crap in. Dean I am absolutely hanging to come out on another one of those crazy hills runs with you. Although I think I'll take a bit of time learning how to drive an AWD and find it's limits on my own. Steve - love the idea mate. Unfortunately I don't think I could change to subarustu doesn't have the same ring to it. Funny you should mention that though as I have joined a number of WRX forums to see what they were up to and still joined with the nick 'nismostu'. They will be wondering what's going on. Cheers Stu

Hello All, Some of you already know my story, so I'll try not to bore you too much. Anyway, I have been a Nissan fanatic for over 10 years and still am. I started off in an immaculate Bluebird TRX and traded up to one of the first HR31 GTS-X RB20DET's in Adelaide. Unfortunately after about 2 years I sold the skyline to purchase a house. From then on I have been driving a 141kw 98 Camry (and hated every second of it). I have been cruising and associated with the SAU crew for over a year now, but only as a passenger in a pewter S15. Dammit. Finally the time has come to sell the Camry and get a new set of wheels and thankfully I am able to salary sacrifice a novated lease through my work. My only criteria was that it had to be a brand new car. Unfortunately the 350Z was out of my price range and there are no other brand new Nissan's worth worrying about. Therefore there was no other choice value for money, performance, handling, etc other than a new WRX. Therefore I have turned to the dark side and in about 6 weeks (some time in June) I will be taking delivery of a brand new Black MY04 WRX Hatch. I absolutely cannot bloody wait. Cheers, Stu PS. Hope I am not going to cop to much of a bagging over buying a Subaru. But I am a Nissan man at heart.

Cruise was great Friday. Mick set a good pace and was excellent only having 4 cars. Got to have a chat and met Dean for the first time. Sat night cruise was okay but the intermitent rain sucked. Great group of cars. Till next time. Stu
