  1. a R32 GTS-T should have a stock bov I'm just waiting for someone to post a pic up as I don't have the car with me at the moment another place to T piece it off is just at the end of the throttle body, there's a thin pipe connected to it
  2. it's actually a very easy DIY thing to install a boost gauge, best to get a pic up and circle the few areas that you can T piece it off into the boost gauge one pipe that you can t piece is off is a small pipe that connects to the top of the BOV and then you just need to try and squeeze the hose through the firewall into the cabin area save you money from doing it yourself
  3. what I do is apply brute force, which smacked me on the head hard and I was probably knocked out for a min but just slowly use your palm to hammer it out from the back, and it'll come off eventually, well the 2nd time that I've done it was much easier, probably the first time was a virgin and was too tight
  4. I'm gonna get a custom 3" stainless steel dump pipe made for 250 bucks, and I think that's a good choice to get it custom made
  5. I think he said it's the wheel bearing from the back, I don't really know what it is
  6. on my R32 GTS-T, it's making some crunching noise when it's rolling, took it to a mechanic and he said it's the bearing, but then he said he can't get hold of a bearing for my car does anyone know where I can get it? does it have to be new? ie ordered from japan?
  7. do you have the contacts to EKW? website or address?
  8. I have the same problem starting my car when it's cold I usually have to put a bit of throttle to get the revs up, once it's started, it's all good I was told it could be alternator or ignition coil, I don't know, don't have money to change either yet
  9. you shouldn't be able to see it looking from the top as it's bottom mount but even if it's aftermarket turbo, if it isn't too big, it would be hard to tell by looking at in, you'd have to take it out and see but who would complain with a bigger turbo and when you say "but once before when i was on boost the needle was off the clock! should i get this checked?" what boost gauge was this?
  10. I've been pulled over by some nice cops (well if they were nice they wouldn't have pulled me over in the first place), and they told me as far as they know, only the brake has to have rubber on it he was nice as he let me off having shiny metal aftermarket pedals with GTR printed on them, and I was driving with no shoes coz they were too big and too hard to change gears with lol
  11. ok thanks, I'll call up some wreckers when I'm about to get the bonnet can't be that hard to find can it... and yeah, I'm getting a cf bonnet too, but it's made for GTR
  12. for P platers, we only have 6 demerit points to play with, and yeah if you're pulled over doing over 30km/h over the limit, it's automatically suspension, and 6 months extention on your p's + the period you've lost it for I'm gonna be on my p's for 4 years too, but at least not as bad as my friend who's probably gonna be on his p's till he's a grandpa most a lot of the road laws suck, ie having the car too low is illegal, as if some rabbits are gonna get killed coz of that and exhaust too loud when motorbikes (engine) are heaps louder... but we don't make the laws so what can we do
  13. From what I've heard, the rear of the wheels only turn less than 2 degrees during high speed for stability and it's 'meant' to tighten up the steering as you go faster, which I don't seem to feel it doing as the steering is pretty tight all the way
  14. yeah E46 is the way to go with the SMG2, I have the SMG 1 and wished it was the SMG2 I don't know about the mechanical difference much, but SMG is basically still a manual gearbox (6spd in m3's case), where tiptronic is still basically auto. But in real life driving experience wise, tiptronic is much smoother in gearchange, SMG1 is quite jerky if you aren't used to it, you have to let go of the throttle a little bit at the right time to make a perfect gear change. And if you put it to auto mode, where it changes the gears automatically, that's even worse, coz sometimes you don't know when it changes gears, and when it does u gotta try and time when to let go of the throttle which is quite hard. This is where SMG2 solves all these problems, minimises all the lag. Advantage of the SMG over tiptronic is, it's as good as manual, better in SMG2 wise, and have the luxury of driving it auto style, no need to worried about clutch, or rev matching during gear down as it's done automatically Tiptronic is smoother and heaps easier to drive, but has a longer lag between gear shifts, especially gear shifting down, this is for a lancer as I haven't driven any porsches with tiptronic, but I know they're bit lazy during launch as you can't drop the clutch with them
  15. sounds like you've got some kinda monster turbo on but on stock, when the boost kicks in, you should feel a pull back, not sure about that extreme lost of control lol
  16. so you guys would say 30psi is about right for dragging? coz I'm gonna run my friend's GTO tomorrow nite, and gonna try whatever I have to beat him by as much as I can lol
  17. just a question, what speed do you set it on the rsm to remove it? 180?
  18. I think these companies should start investing in sequential manual gearbox, as the SMG2 is a dream to drive with minimal lag, and do faster time 1/4 mile than manual versions of the car. If you think about it, if it's designed properly, computerised gear change should be faster than human gear shifting, as seen in F1 cars But yeah, I don't see the point in tiptronic, it's just for auto drivers to feel good, and more in control
  19. in my opinion, cops don't care about jap cars much in terms of P plates power to weight ratio, they care more about trying to find defective parts to give you a canary I've seen p platers driving an evo, and gtr in front of cops and they don't seem to care I don't know about aussie cars as the cops may know more about the power to weight ratio about them, but for non aussie cars, they seem to know nothing about them unless it's a porsche or ferrari, which they often look (in case it's stolen etc) to see how old the driver is and for me, I find that I get less hassle from cops when I don't have my P plates on, althought I got a fine for no p plates after I cut in front of a cop once, so now I put them back up on one car, and then got pulled over the next day for no reasons as cops loves to pick on P platers somehow
  20. I've got a 32 GTS-T and wish to put a GTR bonnet on, but I've been told I also need a GTR bonnet latch, some say I can modify my current one So does anyone know if I need to get hold of a GTR bonnet latch, or can I modify mine and how. If anyone has installed a GTR bonnet onto a gts-t and would like to share the process they've been through
  21. selling an alpine MD headunit, model number is MDM-7741R, looking for $400 ono and Alpine Ai-net CD stacker, model number CHA-S624, lookng for $300 ono note: these two are not compatible, as this headunit uses m-bus, and the stacker is ai-net alpine currently don't make MD headunits anymore, but it was retail at $849 I think the CD stacker was retail at around 600 bucks? not too sure
