  1. was very good to see it in the flesh! no offence intended. but do they make 19's or 20's with rubber available? just looks like the wheels need to be bigger for the bodywork..
  2. yes he did. and i could have a cup of coffee inbetween gear changes..
  3. with the early f1 intercooler comment. that is there to break up the flow to evanly distribute the charge over the whole core area rather than blowing on one portion of it. once the air is in the runner it needs to be as laminar as posible. because the air is not flowing in 1 direction. it starts and stops with every engine cycle.
  4. thanks for lending me a 13mm spanner to fix our brake master cyl on friday mayby i should wide body my r32gtr.... needs to fit big rubber
  5. anna and i had a good one on our way to wakie a few months back, wheel bearing exploded, got the wobbles drove it up the embankment to wipe of some speed and round we went on the m7 with semis bearing down on us. , car trailer went 1m in the air and then went under the back of the car, bent the wheel at 45 degrees and pinched the exhuast shut. got out the tools and a big hammer and straighten the lower arm on the camry poped both passenger tyres of the rims, managed to pop them back on with a hammer and air compressor. good strapping job as they were still tight after the incident.. could of had the 33 barrel rolling down the m7 lol.
  6. YESSS toe master.. we did good. john was heaps happy with the 1.35 boston did in it in the morning session, pitty the engine expired and one of the air filters caught fire in the second session. stock bottom end vq30 7900rpm 20 psi. ish.. head gasket failure or some bent rods. i will find out soon i suspect.. either way it wont turn over.
  7. oh well looks like the good ol -5's and a t04z had to do...
  8. good idea. but not practical. you forget the boundry layer, also you do not want the air to be twisting as you will loose velocity, also you will probably remove the hemholtz resonance effect aswell. turbulance is wanted only just before the valve for mixing the fuel as it is injected onto the closed intake valve. turbulance is also wanted in the plenum to alow a more evan distribution. but the runner needs to be a straight shot for the pressure waves to bounce up and down thru it.
  9. mayby i should put my efforts into a dr30.. at least it wouldnt be out of place 30 yrs after its race debut..
  10. that makes some sence. but the question is why was it done lol.
  11. i dont dout the os is a nice upgrade. but for those who like to throw the gearstick thru the window, a dog box is the only realistic option. because the factory nissan synchro is gone. and that is the root of all the issues with these gearboxes. if you know how to use a dog box, it can be used for quite a while without a new set of dog rings. for a daily streeter you just have no choice but to shift with some mechanical repect if using a synchro box.
  12. "clean injection"on ebay usa do them. just the rail is like 100 bucks.
  13. you can get carrillo pro sa rods for 1300 deliverd. thats what id choose. not something made in china. although they will all do the job you need.i got some for my vq35hr and they are very nice
  14. yes. its a race gearbox. but thats a whole lot cheaper than replacing the entire gearset...
  15. im not sure, we bought ous from the michalin guy at the track.
  16. x trac have a semi auto kit. bottom of the motorsport section/ gear change systems
  17. a pic of the engine mountsx member may reveal the issue. also on the blue plate on the firewall what does it say for the trans?
  18. people dont seem to realaise the STANDARD SYNCHROS are used and often fail in the os gearset. its the "crunching" that shock loads the gears (gears are part of the synchro) and thats why they break. i just dont see the point of spending 6k on a gearbox you have to granny shift.
  19. do the comp test and leakage tests. go from there. everything else is guesswork without those results. hey in my r32gtr the front turbo thrust bearing let go and pumped 2 litres of oil out the breathers into the catch can in 1 old pac run.. (boost blowing into crankcase via oil drain... go figure.)
  20. new valve springs should be used. id recomend supertech. cheap and really good. also not hard on the valve train. tomie do +1mm buckets for the 30mm base circle cams. (putting to thick a adjusting shim can have issues) either way its a $1300 exercise just for the bits, but a nessesary expence) if you are not chasing huge power just get pon cams.
  21. well as far as im aware, most tuners dont intentaly blow up engines. ive had one let go.turns out it was the third second hand piston that was slapped in the engine. (poped 2 times prior and a second hand piston and rings got thrown in... from what you have said its a slapper with oe strength parts pushing 3x oe power.. you dont really have anyone to blame. was the tuner aware of cast pistons being used? either way. the bolt ons you have are capable of over powering the bottom end.. id be throwing some rods and pistons at it.
  22. there is testing at ec. its only $400 lol.
