  1. vq de block : vs vq hr blockcon rod. hr left and middle de right
  2. oh, the vq37hr well it should be called vq37ve is abit to complicated for my liking. a good system. but you are stuck with the factory valvetrain and ecu.
  3. next hurdle is a ecu to run it.... as alot of the "plug in" ones are designed to work with the factory 350z pcm's and nats etc etc.
  4. well after staging up to 2am i rang the place in austin texas where im getting the engine from. found mr nice 11k old vq35hr AWD. out of a g35x infinity. just finalising freight and a rwd 6 speed box to get it going.
  5. maybe they can design one without the splines running on the middle bearings...
  6. the pro ecus have more options to suit the engine they are intended for. the sport 2000 can be configured on anything. but without knock control or afm inputs but the pro is limited to that engine but accepts factory afm as a tuning input if needed and knock sensors to alert you of knock via engine light and can be configured to retard timing. i would recomend it. (just did a haltech seminar on the weekend) download the ecu manager software from haltech and you can see the differances by loading the base maps for both the pro and sport ecu,s once loaded f4 shows all the options availabe to use
  7. well we are coming into winter, so e70 will be availabe as the "winter blend" to aid cold starting.
  8. titanium aftermarket valves are not the best for longevity. if you are after some exceldyne do alot of the nascar stuff. or you could try ferrea
  9. yes but said engine while all good. makes just shy of 350rwkw on 20psi with dash 10's......
  10. well i canceled my engine order.brand new was 2100 usd lol. there is just NO aftermarket support. better off with a vq35hr. 7krpm i would sayfor the vk45. same as a vh45 except with titanium valves and vct and direct bucket valve system instead of rockers.
  11. WELL change of plans. VK45DE+AWD out of a awd infinity m45/fx45. not sure on boosted or not yet. plan is to just get the thing in there and see where the diff lines up...
  12. 10mm is quite abit. have a look at some of the newer nissan engines. the vq35hr vs the vq35de is a good compaison. the de has the usual divided ports where as the hr has almost no divider at all. its not a flow advantage but more of an eficientcy thing
  13. if in doubt swap out the studs for sock bolts and check it. also ring the machinest and ask what EXACT torque the did when they tunnel bored it.
  14. nice work. dont be shy on the short side radius. you really need to remove some of the valve seat to get a nice transition. if you want better fuel economy you can cut the inlet port divider down further to lower the "wetted" area in the port.
  15. well you got the wrong oil in the gearbox. the oil you put in the front diff is more suitable for the gearbox. you SHOULDNT put a lsd gl5/6 oil in a synchro box.
  16. without all the bearings layed out. its too hard to say if its starvation or contamination object damage. whats the oil pickup look like?
  17. not needed. + if you do, you need to get it tunnel bored.
  18. pull the girdle off and lay the main bearings out in order and see what they look like. ps. all the plugs are still in the crank? especialy adjacent to the damaged bearing..
  19. beat me to it! im going to give a s300 8875 a try first.
  20. you may gain from using spaces to delete the throttle bodys.
  21. well your engine is EXACTLY THE SAME as my rb26. turbo, injectors exhaust intercooler.apart from mine having a old autronic smc. mine makes 376kw on 26psi. stock valve springs. it falls over up top from float isssues. as for a comparison i went from 315 to 376 with the head work and poncams. so the head is where the issue is. i would play with the cam timing. mines +3intake -4 exhaust. start at 0 setting and have a fiddle.
  22. i wonder what the vl guys have been doing for all these years..
  23. just for arguments sake. we have a 32 at work. with a nice big fabricated sump. it had a breather can and from the breather can it drains to the sump via a -10 hose. this drain is on the drivers side. at high rpm it actually pumps oil up the hose and all over the engine... lol. so it would seem the windage from the crank is pumping the oil up the hose.. the nismo setup is good. having that in conjunction with a big 2-3L catch can with a -6 drain back to the passenger side of the sump should do the trick. well it did on a r34gtr that have a really nice arc catch tank that filled up every session at wakie. put the nismo seperator on with the outlet going to the arc. not a drop in it at the next outing.
  24. also the 34 transfer case is differant. presumably the shifter arangement. not sure on the bolt layout. (holenger and os giken say you have to use a 32 or 33 transfer case when installing to a 34.
