  1. if you can fit 4" it will save you from the "is my exhaust a restiction" dilema further down the road once the wick is turned up. 3.5 to 4" is not much cost differance either, 4" is more common in pipe size if you going to get one made.
  2. woops i misread. whissle noise is common for the turbo flange gasket to the manifold. but you still need to do the oil line modification.
  3. you did change the oil supply line to the turbo to a non standard one or modify the stock one by drilling out ALL the oil restrictors in the bangos and bolts? if not the whissle was the comp wheel eating the comp cover because the thust bearing has failed fom not enough oil
  4. its fine. hope you put a oil restrictor in the block.. ps. ive seen cp's have alot of blowby without drama. just the way they are unfortunatly.
  5. just to clear a few things up.. my set up has had it fair share of issues, t04z on stock rb26 i was only making 315kw on 25pound. replaced engine to my old built one from my dr30, went to 376kw. the inly differance was pon cams and a very light port. so.. from my experance, and excluding all the 450kw freaks out there, cams netted me a gain of 60kw atw... and it was still not making as much as id hoped. but looking at my graph it falls over up top sugesting a spring upgrade is a good idea.
  6. pitty with bucket lifters there is ZERO sidways load on the guides..
  7. make sure you have the adapter for the g sensor, it will fault all the time with out it.
  8. wow, looks like a page straight from suprafourms lol. interesting but. bwftw
  9. riggs or undergroundmotorsports has a well documented bw swap. what made me get my one. he used a trust manifold but had to chop it to re-angle the flange. good read+vids and pics. undergroundmotorsports build thread
  10. for stuff to make it into differant cylinders is very posible. ive seen it first hand. firstly, rear turbine wheel fell of, most of it went out the back but alot went back up the ex manifold and destroyed to bores on 4,5,6. also made it into 1,2,3 but not as bad. it was smashed into the head on all cylinders. second, at my old work we had out ipra civic drop a ex valve on no,4 that broken exhaust valve ended up in the inlet port of no,1. lol.. motor was a throw away..
  11. the same one that was on your gearbox if it was a turbo. simple bolt in affair.
  12. same box just differant ratios to the non turbo 4wd. if your going auto to manual you will be best to get a custom 1 piece tailshaft made. although im pretty sure all the 4wd shafts are the same. youd need a 33gtr shaft.
  13. i realise that. most oils, evan shit ones have a sheer pressure exceeding 200,000psi , way more than it takes to dent a cyl head. so there is no way it would of wiped all the oil from the bearing. once the bearing is gone... the piston/rod is free the flop up past tdc, and impact the head. but. every engine failure is uniqe, so im only guessing.
  14. the trust turbo makes the comp cover fowl on the rocker cover.
  15. if it wasnt a brank new crank, and not cleaned out (imposible to do with out grubscrewing) a piece of shit becoming dislodged is my best guess. youd be supprised at how much crap get trapped in the crank galleries.
  16. my head looks way worse than that when my stock turbos went thru it.. skimmed it, marks still there. no dramas running 376kw for 40,000km with out issue. just filles up with carbon anyway.
  17. yes, cat back only but.
  18. so long as the vac line stays on, as much boost as your turbo can produce
  19. all the valve guides in 1 piece? ive seen the inlets fracture and do similar damage. that wont be the cause of the damage. its not detonation. to only dammage 1 bearing its only oil contanimation. fron the look of it something has been sitting in the crank and got loosed. did you have the crank grubscrewed when it was first built? of have you recently put on a oil cooler?
  20. ps. feel free to come borrow mine to size it up/run if you want. pm for more info. its brand new. just dummy fitted. im just as interested as you are to see how it will go.. but my cars in bits..
  21. the 83-72 would be better in my opinion. the supra guys tent to think the 83mm turbine is to small for the 75 front wheel.
  22. cool you have stock pads
  23. its an autronic, i have one. (smc clunker) 500r is a good unit. try running 1.2mm plug gaps and 30psi with no spark issues with a pfc.... only drawback is they need a external crank rpm pickup once you lean on the motor. grab a laptop with a serial port, download the software, buy the cable, (sm4) and raise the limiter yourself, but i wouls have it done at a dyno just to be safe.. the software is uber easy to use if you just want to do basic adjustments. ps. the rpm limit map has coolant temp correction in it. ie can set it so it doesnt rev past 4k if not up to temp etc etc. and hitting overboost will make it cut. all will be revealed once you get into the ecu with the laptop.
