Vq35hr Conversion

WELL heres an update. got my twin carbon extreme clutch for a 370z with upgraded AP style concentric slave cylinder. i was on the fense about putting a transaxle in it. ie like the v8 supercars. so i have been busy saving. (wasnt keen on the "$12,000" for complete axles either) after many back and forth emails and questions i was ready to get an albins st6 transaxle. (after being quoted usd$46,000 for an EMCO gt46 transaxle(rolex series supplier) and i have decided not to go the transaxle route. to expensive. would be a $40,000 exersise. so i contacted hewland. the IGTC six speed with drop gears was a nice gearbox, magnesium casing, but with no available bellhousing it was a no go. (i dont like the idea of dodgy adapter plates etc etc. so i have got a holinger 370z bellhousing, a m3 motorsports holinger 170mm spacer (to move the bulk rearward)and will be getting a nice modena engineering MV8S dry sumped 6 speed transmission. but it has a 1:1 6th. so i need a diff.. so i am in the process of instaling a ford mustang cobra 8,8" aluminium irs diff with a wavetrac lsd. $150 for a ratio change is not bad. with ratios from low 2's to 5+ i have to send my ecu back to the uk for an update to the closed loop air shifter semi auto option. (good thing about the ecu is because of its capabilities getting a fully auto air shifter connected is only going to cost 1500 bucks. as apposed to the 5k+ for a stand alone geartronics/shiftec unit. and its all in the 1 box for a super tidy wiring job pics will be made soon i promise. just have to make room in the gararge to start modding -
not really related, but my new syvecs s12 turned up

well i finaly got my ecu its a syvecs S12 (life racing F90) it does everything!! and more. -
im sure nistune has them
-
yes it will be nice, making a water to air intercooler built into the manifold (one per bank) it will be rwd. weight saving is to hard to ignor. but the plan is to eventualy fit a albins st6 transaxle in the back. just finished moving with a nice long lease so now i can start it. (didnt want to have the thing pulled to bits up opn stands and the have to move lol..)

has anyone got a faulty bellhosing asembly? i need one to try some things... (syd area) oh, and myself being a "mechanic" it does take a delicate touch undoing turbo bolts. especialy m8 ones. but sometimes they do get frozen and gall up. atleast it didnt drag the thread out of the housing... but it does take a good few years experiance to have the rite touch, and im sure the service manager at the dealership isnt handing r35's to apprentices that change oil for a living.. they would be going to the experianced staff. cheers

i have heard and seen what happens with a flash tune and boost up with a f6 and they start breaking input shafts and tailshafts and well any of the shafts.. ps just orderd a syvecs s12 for my 32 with vq35hr..

we have done a 08 350z vq35hr, 225kw@wheels. unique autosports..
-
anyone know where i can find a used/ratteling bellhousing assembly for a 35? (will be pulled apart and converterd to a clutch housing/torque tube) cheers
-
the plug in vipec and links are non sequential batch fire. aka z18et spec.. the wire ins are the way to go. the fact you have to hack up a standard ecu case to fit them aswell is a pain.. the haltech is quite good as it has all the built in knock control and is a "plug and play". rb25 has forged pistons and rods, n1 pump with crank collar and ross "power steering belt flinging" balancer.
-
yes, quick and easy fix. and they are on special at vpw for like 120 dollars.. hopfully they realise this fault and re-design the inlet acordingly. you cant just block them up either as it doesnt alow for the pump to self prime. if they are fully submerged the whole time there output goes up heaps with both the bleed holes blocked. :0

R33GTST rb25, poncam 252's. greddy plenum, q45tb borgwarner 66mm type a valve springs 408rwkw on 23psi 98ron

LOOKS GOOD! whats the go with uprev? do you get the software and tune it on your laptop? and its only good for 1 vin number or something? (will be getting a m35 soon just seeing my options) cheers.

turbine pumps are the go, but they are designed to be always submerged, ive been on the dyno alot latley and the roller cell pumps, mainly 044 seem to have a really bad tolerance to the temp of the fuel, ie tuned all good then as soon as the fuel is hot they drop pressue, and you have a 350kw engine running 13:1 afr's....
-
dont all garret gt series turbos use inconel turbines? and "cast steel" turbine hosings are simply that? cast steel?
-
i know how to fix it 100%. similar issue with the dw300 turbine pump. they are designed to be fully submerged all of the time. what area you in?

New Crank, New Block , Acl Hx Series Bearings 0.063Mm
T04GTR replied to ZimNismoBoy's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
having the big pump wll compensate for the looser fit. 2nd ring should have more gap than the top.or it will breath heaps at high revs. -

the wire positioning is the same, regardless of colour. -

ACL have a pretty wide tolerance. ive measurerd them to vary almost 1/2 a thou. 1.5-2.5 thou is aok. any loser it will be lazy to raise oil pressure/ any tigher it will have to much pressure/and/or ware out under high power. -
and the down side of having high oil pressure? 100 psi at full noise hot is bang on. what is the problem with the engine? you pressure reading is that taken from the small 1/8thnpt plug rearwood of the oil filter housing on the block? oil pressure SHOULD be adjusted with oil wieght and bearing clearance, idealy there should be no presure relief in the pump ( aka most dry sump pump set-ups). so ALL the oil is being circulated removing heat and lubricating. if you are concerned about the pressure try loosening up the oil clearance 1/2 a thou or so on the big ends. (try to keep the mains a little tighter so oil pressure rises quickly) also, having a high pressure means the oil pump is returning alot of oil to sump/pick up instead of going thru the bearings. so opening up the clearances will make it live longer aswell. + reducing the oil pressure. 2 birds with one stone.
-
why you would want to do that i dont know.. if so you may have to remove the shims in the relief valve. if its filling the rocker covers up that wont really help. but it would be a massive job for a "just to see"
