  1. umm make sure the TPS signal is 0.4v at idle.. if its not adjust it.
  2. yeah, thats bullshit! im sory to hear about your bad expiance... they built it they should fix it! unless they are hiding under the "race use avoids warenty" bullshit any court would be retarded not to see they arnt liable! hell im tempted to pull mine down and replace all the rollpins! a rollpin doesnt fall out unless its to small.. like they dropped it and put in another one that was not exacly the same size. ive had rollpins used many times and they are still heaps tight on the way out.
  3. really? im suprised at that? why did they break?
  4. MAZMAN i relied to your post on supra forums... small world!! it would drive me insane! timsr33 i had standard cams.. well bog stock motor 1.4 bar same everthing made 315awkw. lag was almost identical, put the cams in a mild head and went to 376awkw on 1.6 bar. ive been told its the small cams and weak valve springs... but there are the odd freak ones on here making 400+ kw on same boost. either im missing something or they arnt telling us something.. but you have valve springs. wich make me worry about mine. but yours has crazy lag! what was the "clearance issues" you discoverd? ps.. my girly has a rb25 and a gt35 with .68 ar rear. she made 345rwkw on 1.5 bar. little 252 poncams and type a springs on a 6 boost. now when i built the motor it made 260kw on 1.2 bar i opened up the small radius on exhaust ports only! went straight to 301kw.. so i think our cyl heads are the place to look at.
  5. yeah well im gonna build up a bottom end ive decided. why the hell not!! it will be a good comparison aswell. rb26 with S372@2bar vs rb26/30 with S372@2 bar.. might evan throw it in annas car to see she loves "bedding in" my parts lol..
  6. thats nice! im asuming its the t04z in his sig thats being used...
  7. they look pretty good! good standard shape, with good sized runner length. but you cant compete with the smooth look of the hydroformed hypertune ones
  8. well. as diesels dont have a throttle, they use fuel injection as the throttle. more fuel more revs, they still have the same varieng loads and air consumsion diferances as petrol engines, so when they get of the throttle the fuel usage drops and so does the amount of air reqired. so surge is not uncommon. ps.. the im pretty sure direct injection petrol engines dont have a throttle iether.. if im heaps wrong and someone knows please corect me.
  9. very interesting! now, what about the windage tray (trays) ps. id hate to see what terry bosnjak would charge to "knock" something like theese up! (down the road from my work) all looks really good. i can see how it would give you all the peace of mind in the world regarding main cap rigidity!
  10. yes. anyone heard of the hks "hi-deck"....albeit 2.8L
  11. so why did you open up the port entry to slow down the air? did you touch anywhere near the valve seat?
  12. you could do it. but be prepared to spend 4k on the head to get it to rev there reliably..
  13. you wanna run 8's ?
  14. yeah, i had a jim berry clutch do that on a skid pan.. just locked up. put simply i thru it in the bin and got an os giken. i wouldnt use it. it will do it again. the problem is the button material thats more suited to steel flywheels/clutches not the nodular iron oem ones..
  15. yes. good idea as you wont be stuck into having to by expencive hard to drive exedy's
  16. ok, well il build one and put my s372 turbo on im sure that would be pretty solid and besides it would be cheaper for me than buying another turbo if its to laggy
  17. oh no@!!! yes paul. you and i need to sit down and come up with a shopping list for me and a to do list with my nice new flex shaft grinder not here but. next time i see you.
  18. wick is why my poncamed t04z 26 only manages 376kw at 1.6 bar....
  19. lol. yes the cam and headwork really are where it all takes place.. isnt that so paul
  20. well i thought mine was bad.... i have 25pound in a loaded gear by 4300rpm. mine is IDENTICAL to yours except you have valve springs. my t04z is .84 split (ta45 footprint) 3.5" straight exhaust no cat. i have an ebay manifold. with 1.1/4" runners. mine on 1.6 bar makes 376awkw (505hp) on 1.4bar it made 355kw on 1.8 it made 377kw i think mine is valve float...
  21. was 20psi
  22. he i had to jump over pit wall during the 12hr to see our ute rear brakes.. race control said there was sparks coming out.... we put endless is.. and holy f**k they are expencive.. the propper endurance pads wer $1800 front and $1600 rear... lol. but after 2 hours of racing they wore .5mm....
  23. rips, i see. so having the girdle braced to the shithouse lets it rev more easily? please.. i know it will make it more reliable or what i think is good insurance.. if an engine crank moves around that much evan though its fully balanced? not having a stab, but i think some peole may be mislead into believing there is no way a rb30 can do 9k without said girdle.. i mean there is nothing wrong with the cast iron stocker. and regarding the oil pump issue, perhaps i have seen to many rev limmiter dammaged pumps that have swayed me into thinking they will fail. or if not but when. i take it you have a race only balancer setup and a very soft (good) rev limiter?
  24. also... if we could find a rb30 with 400kw and a rb26 with 400kw and compare the dyno graphs that would answer alot of questions. excluding the freak 450rwkw+ monsters out there.. just an honest as posible comparison... i mean if "most" rb30's stop making power after 6k and flatten out.. i could live with abit more lag and have it keep making power all the way to 9k.
