  1. an up side to a 30 would be because of the lower revs, (all us normal peeps) you wouldnt have to spend a heap on the head for it to hold together a 9k+ i mean if its a whole 1000rpm earler in lag.. it a win win in my opinion for the rb30. but if its not 1000rpm better in responce......
  2. yes. but ripps or anyone that revvs there rb30 past 8k still hASnt told me how the oil pumps stays alive.. or what oil pump they are using... oh.. i built mine with a jun pump.
  3. yeah, not one of my brightest days. reffer to my sig and im sure you get the picture
  4. hey ive got till the end of 2010 till im licenced
  5. yes. but 3.5 years ago when i built my motor, i wasnt thinking of that.. if im gonna do an external pump it gonna be a propper dry sump set up.. but now days i can make a pretty good wet sump. anyone got a s2 rb30 block etc etc??????? (with the factory idler hole tapped)
  6. the only thing that stopped me was fear of breaking the oil pump.... thats it. nothing else.
  7. 2 much torque for it. unless you have the wrong release bearing and carrier combo that is keeping the clutch preloaded. is there any freeplay on the clutch fork?
  8. so.... put simply does it work or not? considering the turbine housing is the bottle neck....
  9. things the car needs before the next outing: oe bellhousing bolts with hardend washers. arp or equivilant converter bolts ps.. nice quick release dump pipe!! im gonna make one for mine!
  10. best of luck. no problems. kept the day interesting. oh "special" cokes were nice too
  11. lol
  12. yeah. 2nd driver did 3 laps and wrote off the ute. we would of finished up top 6. with only 6 stops for fuel.....
  13. the erosion on the outer areas is due to the tip speed. the outer areas is where the most "pushing" of the air occers.
  14. i still havent got an answer about how you can keep the oil pumps alive with those revs on a rb30.......
  15. so yous is a r30? aka r180 diff? yes the sti subarus use a r180. normal wrx ones use a r160.( shafts/splines all differant) unfortinatly the r180 lsd is evan more expencive than a r200 lsd. expect to pay 1500 just for the centre secondhand(rally use and fit anything nissan/datsun irs. hence the expence. ps(you will need to get it shimmed up as i stripped mine in my dr30rs. (r180 lsd) you would be better off chasing a dr30 rs turbo rear end complete. same money but you have a r200 with bigger shafts and bigger rear brakes that use the same pads as a s15 200sx. if you can find a late model one (84 up) comes with a 4.11 ratio not 3.9. and 14mm crownwheel bolts so all aftermarket skyline/silvia lsds bolt into the housing) hope that helps.
  16. cool. whos going?
  17. dont confuse metho with methanol. meths is denatured ethanol. so.. its e99 you could say.

  21. lol. oh bp at wetherill pk on horsly drive
  22. anyone got a set of indy blu's i can throw in and use the e85? ps. anyone used 100% meths? (chemcal factory next to my work can get it to me for $1.20/L
  23. just the price.... as long as it has oil pressure it will be healthy, if it surges it will do dammage regardless of the oil used. i have seen engines that use all those oils and still spin bearings. and with any oil once it gets over 120~ degrees it breakes down and wont lubricate as well. a 15w50 is a good wieght for a stressed motor. thicker than a 10w50.
  24. the ball, short is a 14mm bar with a ball on it. the lon one is just longer. like 30mm or so. make sure you use locktite on the ball as it will leak oil if you dont. of and the bearing is heaps smaller in diameter ie: the rubbing surfave is just bigger than the sleeve its pressed onto. where the stock one is alot bigger. nismo use the small one.. youd be supprised how many people sell there twin plates because its to hard to drive....all because they have wrong bearing. nismo also needs a 16mm~ carrier. i used a 12mm one with my g-max3.
