  1. thats pretty cool. would you be able to send me the file?
  2. just use bosch ones.... what "bar" are the apexi ones?
  3. coool! i will make mine use 2 gates. since im getting a massive turbo i need all the response i can get!!
  4. cbc bearigs or any bearing shop have them. just a normal spherical bearing. you will need to pull it out and show them as a sample..
  5. cool. well 99.9% of multi plate clutches all use the 12-14mm carrier. mesured from the base of where the bearing sits on it to the surface the fork rubs on no idea what car they come from.. ps.. you must use the small "datsun" bearing. (the standard one is wrong for a multiplate., a very common mistake) they go right up to 25mm or so for the stock clutches.
  6. yes a dog box is a dog box. straight or helical all the same. unless you are dedicated to smashing thru the gears when racing i wouldnt sugest it. but from your specs your not mucking around!! got a dyno sheet? ps.. the straight cut one is very loud!! i had a 100db exhaust and cant hear it at all over the box.. lol. pps. unique1, you must tell me how you up shift in detail!! lol. evan though i havent driven it since nov 07......
  7. not yet. get THEM replaced.
  8. because they are works of art. oh, the restriction is the turbine wheel it would be very expencive to get each runner bent up perfectly to shape with no welding except for the turbo and head flange. the dude that has the gibson r31 has priced up a replacment.... (same style as the fj one above) he told me $10,000 and had to be hydroformed. the full race ones are expencive because of the materials they use and that the are welded by a robot. (very pricy tooling)
  9. ok cool. just off the top of your head, whats the process involved in the conversion using oem nissan bits?
  10. owwwww sexy. something about a jointless manifold thats so appealing!! how do they make them? hydroforming or a custom mandel bender program?
  11. well i bought it secondhand. so id say its got a few. that and me having to trial and error the best way of "street" driving it.. my guess is at least new dogs for 2nd and 3rd. (so all the dogs lol..) and depending how worn the gears are, them to. (2nd,3rd) i use the clutch. just shifting fast and firm with a pause going up gears and rev matching down. (down is way more easier than going up....) waht sort of shifter is recomended. a quick shifter or stock???? i was thinking of making a super quick shifter but im to scared of missing a gear. i almost got reverse on the freeway once going from 5th to 4th :s (full monty box)
  12. yes. as with holset and borg warner.. the turbines are inconel. so you wont have to worry about melting stuffs
  13. fair enough.. il be done with it,external pump it is..
  14. hrmmm. very informative.. i spose any confidant head guy could set it up with 26 gear in it.. but if you are going to so much trouble we may aswell just use a 26 head........
  15. very hard to say. but id say its an open diff. you can use lsd oil in it. its the heavy duty oil.. so iether way no harm will be done. just better protection.
  16. yes all true, but. unforntunatly with a dog box you do need to crack test the parts. its just a fact of life. you smash something with a hammer for a year or soo it will crack. just when is the gamble. after seeing this im gonna get my ppg straight cut a servive i think...
  17. and regarding the nodular vs normal iron clutches, you would think that they would be checked. is there any quality control? what if that was a hollinger box :s still having a dowl missing isnt the best way for reliability...
  18. seems every clutch/flywheel explosion i have seen in here is involving a jim berry "modified" clutch.. dodgy batch my ass! your just lucky you had a steel flywheel!! or it would of been a benm... sory to see that. was it a standard box? or did you have a nice gearset in it?
  19. ok, rips. what have you done with the oil pump issues on a 30 crank? you havent broke any?
  20. yes interested aswell! well just the bracket nd whether its on the left or right..
  21. yes interested aswell regarding the parts. were they the "rb25" specific solid lifter conversion bits?
  22. yes they are.. just a mainshaft change
