  1. oww. seems like a succesfull day woot
  2. so.... hows it go??????????
  3. all very good info guys !! also russ, what standard part let go?
  4. if its dot 5. thats silicon based. wich means all your rubbers will be f**ked. hence spongyness. unless you have had all the rubber seals in the master cylinder changed and calipers rebuilt to suit silicon fluid. hopfully they arnt completly gone. if the flid has boiled. the brembo writing on the caliper should now be a light to meduim brown colour. if its still white then its the seals going soft. yes rbf600 or penrite syn brake fluiid is the best value. a caliper upgrade is a good idea. but to do CORECTLY you wont have change from 4-5k
  5. you still need to get a feeler guage and chech the ring end gap. as brad said. it aint screwd together right. and on the tuning thing. torque production is an indication of timing. you increase it till it stops making torque. it wont ping for a a while yet. but thats how timing is usually done, pump in timing till no more torque is produced. theres no point adding timing if it stops producing a posative increase in torque.
  6. not really. up to 450 yes.
  7. cool. yeah i would be getting the larger input shaft option. and all brand new bearings. and also will be making a spraybar for inside the gearbox to directly spray oil on each gear. havent quite got it started yet. either using a pump of the tailshaft or an eletric one. do the straight cut gears suffer from lubrication issues in the gtr casing?
  8. you will fry 3rd with ease
  9. do not get the "e-damage"
  10. yes. the ones that arnt f**ked
  11. ive got no knoc k sensors here with the autronic. no problems at all. evan on 25pound. if your tuner has to hely on a knock reading then they shouldnt be a tuner
  12. well id say its all a tuning issue. were the pistons at all pitted? with the good pistons/rings.. install them and check the ring gaps. (top and second)
  13. AWSOME. thats what i figured. yeah il be using the clutch, and using the flatshift function on my autronic. (ignition cut for 10-200 m/sec time apon depressing the clutch.) is redline oil the go? or that expencive motul one?
  14. yes awsome turbo. i might evan upgrade my t04z
  15. no no. the a egt guage has to be before the turbo. usually in the exhaust housing or rite at its entry. or if your hard core you have one for each port just at the port exit. having it after the turbo is pointless. may as well have it on the muffler.
  16. hahah lol here we go!! ehhe yeah hered he did the runner from a rbt. then blew .038. like 3 beeres. its the should or shouldnt i run question that always ends in disaster. and thats when experiance comes into it. i had a friend do the runner. he got away till they knocked on his door the following day. he got 2 years no licence and 200hours com service. and about 8k in legals. all for what? 15-30k over :S
  17. also quaiff make a torsen one. aparently its the go. well acording from geoff from sss in his gtr. all the good bit but without the understeer and un settling.
  18. its going to be dog or synchro. not a combo. id probably get confused when racing going from 20ms shifts to a clutchless synchro shift and have the thing explode on me lol. ive pretty much made my mind up on the 5 speed straight cut one. and i will utilise the flatshift function on my autronic to be nice to the box. also im in the process of designing a mega short shifter for the box as to speed up the changes. cos ive heard the quicker the better and less ware on the dogs. how was the trust six speed to drive?
  19. thats interesting. all the koni yellows ive seen on cars that see track use all have at least one or both left hand ones leaking out the adjuster. yeah if they are jap specified valving then yes they will be way off. honestly your better getting complete shocks/springs already set up.
  20. at the end of the day ive invested a whole heap of time and money for my car to do one thing. go fast at the track. without compromise. cos its when its being driven like its stolen where the problems have arisen for me.
  21. it will be around 450awkw once finalised
  22. ok. its either the helical synchro one or the 5 speed dog. im 50 50 on the synchro one. and the last week of researching ive heard very good things about the "streetability" of the dog engagment one.
  23. yes very tru. its a difucult decision to make. what problems did you have with the ppg? and what bits needed replacing? did you have an ignition cut on the ecu for gearchanges? and did you use the clutch with it? sory for all the questions. just want to get the rite one. once this gearbox is in. it will be 70/30 track/street. thats what lary the laser is for
  24. hrmm. thats a good looking turbo!! any links to more info on it?
  25. yaeh you have. the old holden calibra turbo had it. and im pretty sure the new astra turbo has it to. bit of an opel trick.
