Opinions please - Time for a turbo for my GTSt
Blade replied to SouthernR33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Love it how people can say if i change my turbo from this to that ill get 250rwkw and 300rwkw, of course the larger the turbo the greater the boost the larger the gain, but u cant assign a figure to the turbo you get...your engine could be rooted maybe reach 300rwkw or 250 rwkw and u hammer it a couple of times...boom blown piston it depends on ur engine condition, and dyno conditions Anyone can tweak a dyno reading, best way to see what power your car is pulling is take it to a track, dyno is really only good for tuning imho. -
heheh watching it now poor vp or watever it is, he gets left behind in the distance gotta love the 34gtr rims...stunning
-
tsk tsk should be working nark.. Average dl speed of 426kb/sec not bad at all Upload some movies ferni
-
Most prbably the raods will be wet or damp My cheap falkens grip so badly in the wet so ill be at the back aswell sticking to the speed limit
-
Its an obvious answer to your pointless thread. if its a v8 u dont drag. if its some cheap v6 holden u drag.
-
Yeap count me in this time, for the cruise Unless its raining, however bom say showers clearing later so it should all be good

Best most popular turbo depending on how much u wanna spend... Well u can either highflow...or just buy a HKS 2530 2535 2540 or similar, straight bolt on so u dont have to change wastegates etc...not sure on outputs but ur looking around the $1500 to $2000 for 2nd hand or high flowing Once again their are tonnes of threads in Forced Induction Forums covering best turbos for every type of budget and power output required
-
Finish exhaust if u havent? i.e dump/front - $300+- Then CAI (pod etc) - pretty cheap depending what brand or custom made Electronic Boost controller or manual bleeder - from $50 to $800(e-01) etc Piggy back ecu - either emanage or safc? chipped ecu even from $200 to $500, controls timing ignition and fuel maps for larger gains They are the above 3 reasonable cheap mods which will get you largest gains then you step into another sorta stage: Larger Turbo FMIC Injectors Standalone ECU - motec autronic power fc fuel pump, afm etc etc etc Suspension work list goes on... Best thing is to use the search function mate...threads everywhere!

Yeap, Thanks for the advice guys - Muz and Abuse. and Timmay i was only using the v one s as a metaphor if thats the correct terminology...for starters the v one r is better in the kyosho range lol. I have heard of Mike Wilson karts before. Repairing etc is not a problem, as my g'pa = mechanic (sure hell know how to fix a kart when crashed ), he and my dad suggested i get into the sport now that i can afford to have my own kart and pay for running costs, ive always been interested...just never knew what "brand" kart was reputable Ill take your advice and definately call karting australia tomorrow in regards to the specs and classes etc And i realise its not a cheap sport lol, but its better i race on the track and leave my car in the garage for the dyno only The only thing offputting me when i was younger was the price....$45 for 45 minutes lol...but now i can afford to purchase my own kart and run it Id rather hammer around a race track, and get it all out of my system every weekend then sit in front of the tv and go to drags at night etc for the info guys much appreciated

Well its time i take up a weekend hobby, so i dont have to listen to mum whinge So ive decided to take up go karting. I need to purchase the best go kart for around 3 to 5k...one which will rape anything...like the GTR of nissans or the V one S of Rc cars. Has to be club spec, because i want to race against others in comps. I need something which has an awesome reputation and can backit up with blistering performance on the track. Im not sure on cc's maybe 100 to 125? wats the most common for races? Also is it better to import one from japan :jk: or buy one 2nd hand or brand new from a reputable dealer? So any advice would be a great help

Pretty sure the BMT s15 had something like 400+ at the fly running a sr20...it was in fast fours magazine...not sure on specs though

33 Gtst or 180sx HELP!
Blade replied to the_consumernator's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
15k territory is r32 land... On average speaking... 15k u could get an auto 33 ... or a n/a, unless your lucky ...really depends if u can wait for the right bargain. If my budget was 15k id buy a 180...or if you can find a "nice" 33 for that price be wary of the car (get it checked out, compression test etc) and go the 33 instead. -
Keep R33gtst or sell & buy 89 R32 GTR
Blade replied to zymotic's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
depends if u want an older car? The only thing putting me off from purchasing a 89gtr is that it is 15 years old... And i cbf spending money fixing the bloody thing -
I bought my car from the dealer with RWC... I never knew it didnt have a cat until one of my mates said ...do u have a cat? and i thought ummmm looked under...their isnt one their In this case cant i blame the dealer etc?

What do you think about the Integra type R
Blade replied to playa's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Well last friday night i rocked up next to a white type r on some street  From the start i had about bonnet and 1/2 on him...before i hit 4th gear and he gave up i was about a bonnet 1/2 in front. They do hammer for a N/A car. My mate is sponsered by Raztech who specialise in hondas and turbo kits for htem..i.e one of their customers = blkcrx 400fwkw running 20 pound boost or somfin soon to be 40 pound they have a few dc2r's with turbo kits custom made for around 8k + tuning....stock output of 197fwkw and you have a definate 11 second car. Absolute animal and the insurance difference is around $200 extra for comp through racv for a 20 year old lol with a turbo kit -
Hahah about 5 forum members have her as their avatar Lets make it 500!!! shes gonna be as common as goatse/tubgirl lol

I dont have a cat at all All i have is 1 straight through 3 inch pipe lol They cant give u a 10k fine on the spot...i bought my car from the dealer with no cat...it had rwc and everything so its the dealers fault...not mine
