  1. I don't know if this is relevant to your HR30. From memory the HR30 brakes and struts looked pretty much the same as the aussie model but the Paul Newman might have DR30 brakes(274mm discs) and struts. I fitted DR30 struts to my aussie R30 for the larger brakes and had to modify the retaining nut to accommodate the Konis for the aussie model. The DR30 struts were about 4mm shorter than the aussie struts. IIRC the retaining nuts koni supplied had the wrong thread for the DR30 struts so I had the original nuts machined out to suit the Konis. The DR30 struts came with different height strut top mounts to the aussie model.
  2. Make sure your amp doesn't touch the metal of the car as this can cause a ground loop. Screw down a piece of MDF and screw the amp to it.
  3. Why is it a hassle to stroke an rb20 with rb25 crank and rods? Should cost next to nothing unless there are skirt clearance problems etc.
  4. Can you just use the rb25 crank and rods to stroke an rb20 without changing the pistons?
  5. Shouldn't be a problem. Just make sure all the speakers are at least 4ohms.
  6. They aren't adjustable. You can't leave the nuts loose. It's a case of the manufacturing tolerances being too tight. The bushes are that tight they have been twisted because they bind up. I've greased them several times and have fitted grease nipples but the grease doesn't get to where it's needed because they're so tight. When they wear out I'll replace them with bushes with the right clearances.
  7. When I bought my R32 the bushes had just been replaced and they squeaked like a rusty gate. They are reddy/orange urathane and are so tight they squeeze out the grease and start squeaking again.
  8. Bump
  9. I need a good pair of R32 kickpanels.
  10. LOL Are you against fast cars because I know a heap of people who have been done for speeding?
  11. The main problem with having the entry and exit on the same side is the air tries to travel by the shortest route and with the long end tanks the far side of the intercooler core doesn't pass as much air as the side with the inlet and outlet. To help solve this it is common to split the inlet tank into two to take half the air directly to the far end of the tank.
  12. I saw Power Acoustik subs for in JBs for about $29. Are they any good? Well I guess you get what you pay for.
  13. Scotty There is no doubt high-end 3way splits set up properly are sweet but considering what it costs to have 3ways installed properly you would get better sound for your money buying very good 2way splits rather than spend it on installing mediocre speakers like Jaycars or Infinity reference series
  14. You have to remove the back seat then the parcel tray. The speaker grilles are screwed to it from behind.
  15. I got some from Alljap in Virginia in Brisbane. They had at least ten pairs but that was some time ago.
  16. I'm going to fit an aftermarket H/U to my R32 which has the dual diversity antenna system with antennae in the front and rear windscreens. It has a two prong plug at the back of the factory H/U. I've done a search but I'm still unsure what is the best way to change it over. It seems to me that the factory system is just adequate but not that good anyway. I guess that could be because the factory antennae are optimised to the slightly lower japanese frequency band or maybe antennae in the glass are more directional than a vertical antenna so reception varies depending on which way the car is headed. Should I fit another antenna? If so, what type and where? or should I use the existing antennae and just buy an adapter for the plug? Is this good enough? I have my doubts. What's your radio reception like?
  17. Ghodde R32 or R34 Did you fix anything while you had it apart?
  18. Has anyone opened one up? I'd like to know if they can be worked on or will I be more likely to stuff it up completely.
  19. Has anyone found a fix or attempted to fix the dodgy climate control display in the R32? Mine operates intermittently but much of the time parts of the display drop out or jumble. It seems to be worse with high cabin temperatures but can play up any time. EDIT: Just thought I'd bring up this old thread of mine as I've got my climate control apart on the table right now and would like to know if anyone has fixed one successfully before and if so what did they find.
  20. I want a stock R32 gear knob in mint condition or I might buy an aftermarket one if the style suits. What have you got?
  21. skyline33 What have you got and what condition is it in? How much? It's for a 4door yeah? Surprising how many people don't see it's a sedan
  22. Oh that's Cresta I've already rung them about 3 times.
  23. gts4 Have you got some?
