  1. SerenityMax from the online store on CAA. I've seen you around there a bit so I'm sure you can find it. It's supposed to be the equal of Dynamat extreme and it's better and cheaper than Brownbread. It costs $45 for two or $90 for five 500x430 sheets and they deliver free anywhere in Australia now. I just ordered ten sheets for my doors and parcel shelf and I'll post my opinion of it here when it arrives.
  2. I'll get prices for the Nolathane adjustable ones tomorrow. I think I can get them through Repco and I'd expect them to be about $200. I'll fit them myself but it shouldn't take more than an hour or two plus a wheel alignment so I expect it would cost less than $400 all up if I paid to have it done.
  3. I rang Nolathane technical support this afternoon and found out that even though the bushes in my car are the same colour as theirs they are made by someone else. The technical support guy was very helpful though and told me that Nolathane make two types of control arm bushes for the Skylines. The original ones they made are a direct replacement for the factory bushes and the new ones (Part No.4544A IIRC) are adjustable for camber and castor and have only been available for a couple of months. He reckons if they are greased in the right places they shouldn't squeak.
  4. schulzie Were the bushes they fitted Nolathane brand (orange colour)? I wouldn't necessarily blame the guys that fitted them. Nolathane haven't been making bushes for the Skylines for very long and might still be refining the specifications. I'm going to try to get the story from them.
  5. Keep them coming guys. Any more pics? I'd like to see pics without the speakers in place too.
  6. I'm currently installing a system I hope will be S.Q. competition standard when finished. I don't know if I'll compete because there don't seem to be any comps near where I live and I don't get the time to travel. I'd like to hear peoples ideas on how different speaker locations sound in the R32 as I haven't decided what to use for F.S.
  7. I'm looking at buying some splits and the woofer has a huge magnet. Does anyone know what the maximum mounting depth is that you can fit behind the factory grille using an MDF baffle? Also if I get rid of the factory plastic mount is the space behind clear for a large diameter magnet? Thanks.
  8. Bleach1 I've used nolathane bushes before and they don't squeak so long as they are greased properly. These ones are just so tight they bind up and get twisted. I'm just not sure what to do about it.
  9. You could quieten the tweeters relative to the mids by adding a 1 or 2ohm resistor to each tweeter + output or increasing the values of the ones inside the crossover. Use 5 or 10 watt resistors. This will make the mids relatively louder but won't fix the problem of the sound seeming to come from the nearest speaker. You would need to move the tweeters trying different positions and angles.
  10. After I bought my R32 I noticed the upper control-arm bushes squeak on bumps. On the hoist I noticed that the bushes were new nolathane ones. I pulled them apart to regrease them and noticed that they were a very tight fit and had already been deformed by twisting. I fitted grease nipples and refitted them but after couple of days they started to squeak again. I think the bushes are too tight as I had to flog them out with a hammer and punch and the inner sleeve might be a bit short and causing the bush flanges to bind. The flanges on the front bushes look squashed but the rear ones look OK. Has anyone had the same sort of problem and if so, how did you fix it?
  11. Don't worry, I haven't started batting for the other side but someone must want these wheels as replacements or to dress up a stock GX or something. They are factory MY97 Gold Club-spec 5 spoke alloys in near new condition with worn RE71 Potenzas. I want $350 for them or might swap parts to suit my R32 to that value with cash adjustment.
  12. That's one hell of a nice budget you've got there. You could look at the JL12W7, Focal Utopia 33WX, Adire Brahma12 or the Image Dynamics IDMax12 All are awesome subs that will go loud and low but still sound tight and accurate enough for the fussiest audiophile. These cost between $850 to about $1200. There's a few good monoblock amps out there that make about 1000 WRMS for around $2000. Look at models by JL, Phoenix Gold, Audison or Eclipse. There are plenty of other great products out there but these are the ones I know best. Of course to get the best out of a sub and amp combination such as these the rest of your system would need to be up to the same standard and the quality of the installation will make or break the result.
  13. Come on guys, the rips in my driver's doortrim is sh*tting me to tears:(
  14. Hey JVS007, what happened to your post? Should I save myself the phonecall?
  15. If your objective is just to maintain the factory stereo the most important thing is to make sure the new speakers drop straight in. I'm not sure about the R34 but my earlier Skyline uses 6"speakers that mount in a 130mm hole. You should be able to measure the hole from inside the boot. Listen to speakers in your price range and choose the ones that sound the most natural. Bright treble and detail are best left to your front speakers so go for something mellow in the rear.
  16. Yeah, but mine's starting to grow on me. MrRb20 What are you going to use for a grille?
  17. I'd like to find some factory sideskirts and rear pods for my R32 GTS-t 4door. I'm not sure what's available or which coupe ones might fit as most I've seen wouldn't fit. I also want to know what rear wings fit the sedan as the bootlid is a bit narrower than the coupe.
  18. It is best to always wire the permanent power wire (usually the yellow wire) directly to the battery using a decent gauge wire fused as close as possible to the battery because most of today's high powered headunits use this wire for their main power. the acc. wire (red) is only to turn the headunit off when you turn off the acc.
  19. I,d like a set of doortrims for a R32 GTS-t 4door in near perfect condition. The drivers door one is the most urgent so I would purchase one seperately. I'd also like a pair of 'c' pillar trims to suit same.
  20. GTStR32 Is it genuine Nissan? How much? Where are you?
  21. O.K., so they changed the loom and ecu between the R32 and R33 but if the motors are identical wouldn't a R32 ecu and loom run a R33 motor as well as it runs a R32 motor?
  22. Thanks tigershark, What's different about the motors that it needs remapping? Could I use the R33 ecu or is the loom different?
  23. Thanks ph1. So, anymore on whether this is a straight swap?
