  1. Interested in some of the boot trim pieces if it's a coupe and the clock spring which is behind the steering wheel
  2. haha, why?!? but in saying that though, the XR5 turbo came with what you have mentioned, you could easaily hear inside the cabin when the turbo started spooling up, made me laugh and just boot it in every gear (did my apprenticeship at a ford dealership)
  3. Just picked up a really clean R34, but there is a few minor issues i want to address and there will be mods i want to do in the future, so i may as well start a WTB topic now Firstly, i dont have a working horn, and i'm pretty sure ive traced it back to a faulty clockspring, so i'm after one of them The boot is missing a few trim pieces and a fair few clips, the main trim pieces are the two main ones that run east/west, the small one that covers the boot latch and the other that covers the space bewteen the struts, there is also a few clkips that hold the rest of the trims in The reverse lights in the bumper are fading and starting to become cracked/brittle, possibly after some good ones to replace them with As this car was originally a S1 r34 auto non turbo (now a 500hp RB26) it doesnt have much, ie triple guages etc, so im open to see what these models missed out on, and possibly a guage setup, or something aftermarket to suit Other than coilovers this car has stock suspension and arms, i dont need to yet, but again i plan on it, and thats to change all the suspension arms to adjustable I think it needs steering rack bushes too I'll be wanting some spares rims/tyres to use as drift spares, thinking 17"s Wanting an Innovate Wideband to fit to this for piece of mind motoring
  4. what sorta shipping costs would it be to Mackay, QLD, 4740
  5. it should be engineered or mod plated to state that it is now spec'd up to a gt-t model, i just bought a 34 that was originally an auto gt, that now has a 500hp rb26 in it, still has auto steering wheel, but its all mod plated for new gear, and when i spoke to just cars regarding insurance, i mentioned that it was originally a non turbo but that didnt change anything for the quote - $1,400
  6. Picked up the 34 yesterday.... what a weapon!!! traction seems to be an issue in most gears Who is going to prossy this friday? for a drift
  7. do you do shipping? Mackay, QLD, 4740 4x 235/45R17, just basic 595's thanks
  8. I spoke to length with the bloke from Dysart that had the 12g one, it was what got me searching for one, sounded like he had a bit of bad luck with it, apexi PFC shorted and went back to a base map, he drove it like that for a few thousand km's, motor died, put a new one in with the low mount gt3582r and got a nistune, gearbox died, and that's where it is, he's putting a twin plate in it and doesnt have the right tools to torque up the clutch plates The custom pipework looks amazing, the interior is currently mostly removed??? It's all done properly and has a lot of spares, inc an RB25/30 The 3 piece rims looks sexy as F.. But the one i'm getting is Jakes 34, has a fully worked RB26 in it with GT3582R (same turbo) but high mount and tial 60mm wastegate, vipec ecu, recent respray and is fully engineered - which was a good sale point for me over the 12g one, as well as the forged RB26 There will be a few things i want to do to it, not a huge fan of the wheels, want to get a wideband AFR guage permanently fitted, as when there is $20k of engine under the bonnet, i want to know whats going on Baby steps though, get used to such a powerful car will be the first thing, prossy drifts and occasional drag will def be on the cards Already have at home an R31 im building up for the drifts, about 150kg removed from the car so far, mini spool diff, mild N/A rb30 and manual for now, lowered, dual rear swaybars, harnesses, i've got S13 hubs and control arms for the front end conversion, just require silvia brakes, and F&R coilovers and the car will do, not registered either but i saved it from the wreckers anyway, cost us very little so far i was building this car before i decided to buy the 34, not sure what im gonna do with it now, roommate needs to learn the basics, and its half his, (we are both qualified mechanics turned diesel fitters) so he might have to just get out there and have a go
  9. Hi guys, new to Mackay, but not to cars Pretty sure im about to buy an R34 GTT, with the works done to it, bank said i can have the money, so i'm soon to upgrade from my old BMW Ben, i spoke to you shortly at the drags last week, mainly about the carbon parts and the ballistic steel bellhousing cover, nice to meet you, and look forward to seeing your car at the drags again, what a weapon! Nick
  10. Well, just dropped by to japlink and spoke to Adam for a while, he reckons he could import a 33 gtr Inc rego, compliance etc for 16-18grand, that's a series 2, not 3 Id like it to be a midnight purple with 18x10 (or 11"), suspension work, upgraded turbo setup and fuel system, decent driveline, basically all the mods you'd do to a streetable 300kw GTR, but so it still looks stock apart from wheels and a set of ganador mirrors and some carbon highlights Still checking this local 33 out tomorrow, but might seriously consider importing one instead
  11. Can I change mine to 'Stoney' and if that's taken delete his account or use 'Stoney85' thanls
  12. thats the reply i want! im still gonna look at it on sunday, but very sceptical what sorta power is expected from the setup it has too? nismo injectors, N1 turbos, intercooler, exhaust, Apexi PFC, and is it generally a reliable setup if not pushed too hard as i drive past eastern creek everyday, i can see myself going there to try the drags and the track at least once, and when funds permit
  13. I have always wanted a midnight purple R33 GTR and i have now gotten a job that allows me the luxury of getting my (realistic) dream car ANyway, i spotted this add on carsales http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?R=9422832&keywords=r33 gtr&tsrc=allcarhome&__Ntk=CarAll&__Nne=15&__Dx=mode matchany&__D=r33 gtr&silo=1011&seot=1&__sid=12CAD7564957&__N=1216 1246 1247 1252 1282 4294963846 4294963593&__Ns=pCar_RankSort_Int32|1||pCar_PriceSort_Decimal|1||pCar_Make_String|0||pCar_Model_String|0&__Qpb=true&__Ntx=mode matchallpartial&Cr=0&__Ntt=r33 gtr&trecs=170 rang the guy, no answer or reply, then i discovered the same car on ebay tonight http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Nissan-Skyline-GTR-R33-VSpec-/150588790611?pt=AU_Cars&hash=item230fca9753 msg'd the guy and asked why hte number and address had change, he replied saying that he's just bought it, but he's "decided its not really practical and also wants to get something a bit cheaper" i reply asking if there is anything wrong with the car to come to the decidion to sell it so quickly, he replies "its my only car, chews a bit of fuel and a bit annoying in stop/start traffic, not very practical,p if i could keep it as a sunday car i would" Does this sound dodgy to you? should i steer clear of it? Im a qualified mechanic, (currently a fitter) so have no dramas in being able to fault find anything with the car, but does anyone know of this car or its history, and obviously him being the new owner, he wont know its history like the old owner does, wont know all the mods, where it was serviced etc on a side note, the biggest issue i keep coming back to about owning one of these is the maintenance on it and running costs, and the fact that i do 60kms each way to and from work along the M4, so is it a car that ill hate if i do constant driving in as well as dealing with the traffic everyday, am i better off getting a shitter runabout for weekly duties (id rather not)
  14. just get another 32 box for now, having no second or 5th gear just sux
  15. Dont worry, just bought a new one instead
  16. Hey mate, keen on the engine stand Are you willing to package and post it to Bellingen, NSW, 2454, just near Coffs Harbour, will pay for associated postage costs
  17. god damn, this is the perfect example of what i want in an R33 GTR, i couldn't find a better one if i tried, so i'll give you a call in 2 years time, when i'm back from europe
  18. thanks for the replies so far guys, some good ideas of what to bring in
  19. i'm from coffs area, and sadly there isn't much to do, the crusiers consist of a few holden owners, VL's/VN's and the like, facinating stuff mind you theres a lot of skylines coming to town now, mate just got offered to straight swap his VS V8 manual on 20"s for a S2 R33 dark grey skyline, with all the basic mods, so he's stupid if he doesn't do it Me, i just own an SR20DE S13, so not much excitement form my part, cant even sell it
  20. thanks for the replies guys, looks like i'll be contacting DOTARS then, man i'd love to drive an Aerial atom around for a year, the clip of jeremy (top gear) his face, priceless!
  21. I'm soon to head off to Europe for an extended working holiday, i'm getting an Ancestry Visa, and i was thinking about a private import to bring back, as i will be there for more than a year, The car will be for my father, and he's looking at a few things mainly the CL500 merc, newer model I've done a search and not much returned info about importing from Europe, is this any different than say Japan? I'll more than likely garage the car most of the time, but leave it rego'd and i'll have an international drivers license, so i might just have to take it for a spin occasionally, but will me being an aus citizen, will it classify as a personal import? Also what other options do you think would be a good candidate? Dad's business is in real estate http://www.reod.com.au and he already has a 2000model Range rover, and was thinking this would be the next thing to get, rangie for country properties and this for the city ones Another option would be the new Range Rover Sport supercharged alll because they are a lot lot cheaper overseas than here Anyway, any help would be appreciated in regards to the inporting side of things and if i qualify and also a selection of cars that would be nice or even profitable to sell again And i'm aware that getting a new expensive merc as a grey import would be hard to sell here, cause everyone wants proven history etc of the vehicle Thanks in advance
  22. you've just inspired me for my next daily driver, that looks soo f**kin mint. If i wasn't off to travel now... Best of luck with the sale, seems a pretty reasonable price considering the body work and wheels alone!
  23. manual or auto?
