R33 Gts Series 1 Sedan For Sale
Habler replied to EMZ R33's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
Comments: Very clean and mint example of a sedan but... • Those rims are awful... very awful and I don't think really offer any thing to the car. Obviously they are your taste so maybe you would be better off trying to offer a buyer the option of cheaper stock rims for a lower price on the car. • You initial asking price was really out there. Most people pay that price for a mint turbo model. $10,000 is cheaper but still a big asking price for a non turbo sedan. I've seen turbo models selling for 8-9k lately. • Auto's are just not in as big as demand • The market for skylines has just been awful and a lot of people have been finding it hard to get there asking price. Hope this helps, I don't want to come across too negative but maybe these reasons can help explain why you might be having trouble selling. Good luck! -
Good first post. I agree the long wheel base does make it hard for the quicker transitioning.

Take it to Phil at Geelong Tune-Up Specialist (03) 5241 6655. He will sort it out.

Aftermarket Fuel Pump Install, R33 Sedan, Help?
Habler replied to mattysaidso's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Toffy is on the money. It isn't really that hard to fit (and yes the bosch 040 is a an easy fit for it) but does get a little fiddly thanks to the tank being almost impossible to see down into. The easiest solution is to give some kid 10 bucks to jump into the boot and use his little arms and a torch to pull it out/put it back in for you. But this could also end up sounding pretty suss when you have to explain to the cops why there is an 8 year old kid in your boot passed out from petrol fumes. So if possible, get yourself in there with a torch or like I did, do it all by feel. The hole bracket will just slide up and out and then its the same process as any other Nissan - simple modification etc. The hardest part is getting it back in properly and sitting at the same level. I thought I had it in right but after a quick double check relised it was not sitting deep enough in the tank which would result in less pick up. It should feel like it has slid and locked into place almost. Good luck, as Toffy said, that plastic cap is the worst part about the job... -
Why Does My Car Handle Like Sh#t!
Habler replied to jarryd2nd's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
No, removing the hicas will not make your car go from handling crap to great. I doubt you would even notice the difference. Hicas adjusts small amounts of toe in the rear of your car when travelling over 80kms(ish). I'm not suggesting it's a bad thing to remove your hicas but don't believe all the hype people make about how incredible you will drift after it's gone. It's simple... you won't. Your car already has "coilovers" since that's what R33's comes with from factory and it sounds like you have a decent set in there already so don't be in a rush to take them out. Do some searching on the forums and you will find vast amounts of info to help you get the car better set-up. All I can suggest is to take it one step at a time so you know what is improving your car and what isn't. -
Probably has something to do with the majority of hipsters finding them ugly and drifters being scummy budget sliders who buy the cheaper S13's. They are a great car to start drifting in because the brakes, gearbox, wheel choice and easy power is all there providing you with more than enough to have fun in but they do lack the after market support of an S13 in Australia. Funny thing is that you need that aftermarket support with S13 because you are forever upgrading everything. As for being too heavy, crap set-up that's all plop. Take out the spare wheel and they close to the same as the R32. Without proper suspension set-up R32/S13's will handle like crap too. I have never had trouble with spinning out anymore than any other driver at the track. They will have a slower/longer transition due to wheel base but this makes learning easier. I didn't like the look of the coupes so i grabbed a sedan. Does skidz and shit. Low quality pic attached for reference of skidding.

Good read. The guard work really offsets the look, no pun intended.

Who ever told you that gtrkiet is tripping. Advan Tri spokes are one of the cheaper rims to buy in decent widths/sizes. 7k my arse. To answer the OP question - its too hard to judge price with out size, width, offset and what tyres. Just to give you an idea my friend got given a set of these with one damaged rim for free so to some they arent worth anything ahahah. Others have been pricing a decent set of 17x9's for under $1000 but this is only an indication.

I read not long ago on a UK forum of a guy having a cusco 4 door cage so I presume you can/could have got them at some stage but..... after looking in to this subject a little bit and researching on here the best option is to get a proper one fabricated. It is very unlikely buying a secondhand Japanese cage will be up to CAMS and RW standard so if you plan on doing any cams events they are pretty useless and as a lot of people have mentioned a cage shouldn't be something you skimp on as a crappy second hand one could be more dangerous in a crash than not having one at all. Depending on where your from you should be able to get a custom cage made to both CAMS and RW standard making it legal and safe. There is plenty of threads about it on here so have a quick search and a bit of a read. Keep us updated as I am keen to get a cage into my 4 door as well so would love to hear feedback.

Selling the china kit is the real solution.
-
Seriously... TooBad. It is worth the extra coin to get yourself a proper intercooler kit like GReedy and save yourself the hassle and embarrassment that I presume comes with owning a shitty china copy. These kits have EVERYTHING that you'll need including instructions even how to bend the horns perfectly out of the way. You won't be out there trying to cut your cooling fans fins (no shit..see it happen) to make the crappy pipes fit nor adjusting and re-welding dodgy brackets to hold everything in place. They are f**ken fantastic The below picture shows that the stock washer bottle can also be kept with an easy ad on bracket but GReedy do supply a smaller washer bottle if you are too lazy to make up this bracket.
-
Ok, so here are some photos of my drinks cooler (I presume??) and yes it is "stock". Obviously some type of factory option, maybe someone with an 33 options list could help me out here? Got to remember Nissan offered things like roof racks, umbrellas and other crazy shit with the skylines.
-
I have an built in esky type thing my boot. Is this a normal thing for the sedans or coupes?
-
Greedy intercooler kits over come the washer bottle problem. I know it was a long time ago but there is no real reason to run a rear strut brace, all ready plenty of strength back there I think. Does anyone know about cages? If anything can be slightly modified to fit? or if anyone sells them.
-
You could buy a smaller washer bottle and relocate it to somewhere else but having the battery in the boot does leave a lot of spare room in the engine bay for other things. Eg. oil filter relocater. Do all series 2 have the battery in the engine bay or have you installed yours there?

Picture Request -modified/drift R33 4door's
Habler replied to mattysaidso's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
I think I have said it before your car looks great with only factory side skirts and the weather shields. If you do go to a kit and want to sell the skirts defintly PM me. PS. the meshies on the back are tuff. They suit the car. -

Those CST hyper Zeros (I think... correct me if I'm wrong) match that black 4 door perfect. Hell, I hate huge kits but those rims some how make the kit look nice. Nice post. While on the subject who here is rocking a kit? I know a few members have a monkey warehouse kit, another has impul kit and I have seen a few others. I am after some standard sideskirts and rear pods but the only dealer I can find is over in WA... Someone in Sydney is selling "gtr" copy side skirts and rear pods but they...just seem ugly and not really GTR. And as for the cage - is the 32 4 door similar enough to swap cages over between the two? or slightly modify? I would be thinking the dimensions would be too different but worth the ask. Can't imagine the 4 door cages being an easy to get item without cutom making one. -
"not the best to drift" hmm.. Well Adam May (currently 4th in Drift Australia) might have a different opinion on that. I remember he came 2nd in one round running on only 5 cylinders.
-
Quote from a drift battle or hpi - "The first thing I do when I get a new car is install a really loud stereo so I dont hear any of the creaks." If you can't hear it, there is nothing wrong Mind you I think he was reffering to the lovely creaks thanks to having no sound deadner, cage installed, 2 way diff and solid suspension.

Strange Sound From Behind The Steering Wheel ?
Habler replied to FLY-25T's topic in General Maintenance
http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/This-t191755.html That is what you'll find floating around in there. Simple problem. I took mine to a auto-electrician thinking my horn was going off for no reason. $50 later they handed me that and said "all fixed". I personally couldnt be stuffed playing around with airbags. -
Also for the OP. Your car being a sedan doesn't mean your car shouldnt have side indicators. As far as I know its actually something that is meant to be done at compliance to comply with Australian standards. I gather this isnt harshly controlled as their is a lot of imports missing them. But saying that, I have seen plenty of sedans with them. Have you checked you have side intrusion bars lol?

I have driven 25km's with my light on and it still wasn't dry. Thought I would mention that.

R-33 Auto Turbo Petrol Consumption
Habler replied to LightninG's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I love metaphors so- pretend the skyline turbo/you are/is a level 99 magician. By taking the turbo off you then reduce it/you a level 9 peasant with spells disabled and no artifacts. Now you are still are a magician at heart and the policing force of Nurcramancers will be able to detect your level 99 magician skills but sadly they do not know nor care your a level 9 peasant and will destroy you with a 90 attack point spell (most likely lighting or something similar). In the end you and your car will have a horrible death. TRANSLATION: Your car will still be registered as a turbo and the PO-PO will see this and kick you in the dick. They won't care if you have taken the turbo off or not. I doubt you'll even be able to register it in your name. Now, even if you were to avaid the police in a level 99 magic.... I mean turbo skyline the cost of getting someone to take a turbo off a turbo engine and getting it to run right would scare you and be very pointless when shown the direct comparison of just buying a non-turbo skyline. If you can't find a manual no-turbo r33 for under $10,000 you need to look harder. Hope this helps without scaring you too much. -
Everyone got GReedy with China parts and now we have no one to Trust to make quality...
