  1. Buy one with a stuffed clutch. Heaps easy to learn in!!!!No bunnyhops/no wheelspin easy. Then fix the clutch after you get used to it. There should be heaps of 33's getting around with stuffed clutches. Alternatively just ride the clutch heaps on the first few days and presto stuffed clutch. easy to drive!!!
  2. I dismantled a GTR last week and weighed a few things as they cam off for interest sake. The complete wiring loom weighed about 20kg's ABS unit was 8kg's. The seats are heavy compared to some of the aftermarket ones. My suggestion is to remove everything, then only put back what you absolutely need. Saving 2kg's on exhaust seems like a bit of a waste of time. I know where I could easily get 25kg's out of a GTR I was driving.. I could go on a diet!!!! Little Micky
  3. Spend a few hours and do the run around Check out D1 garage, JMS, Adelaide Jap, Import Spares etc. Better bargains are to be had when your there in person, so get cash and go for a drive When the stuff is hanging on the wall, make a half decent offer for cash and it'll more than likely be yours. I like to offer about 20% under marked price and if they say no walk out. I'll still be there tomorrow if you want to pay full price (maybe).
  4. Good Luck. I've been looking for one for 2 months. Looks like I'm gunna buy a complete front cut and sell the engine just so I can get one at a good price. Easy to get if youre happy to pay $1650!!!!
  5. At what point do I need to upgrage the rods in my RB26? The plan is for 350rwkw standard crank, forgies and unsure of rods. how will the standard ones hold up? How good are the eagle rods and what do they retail for here in Aus? I can get crower rods from the states for US$1100, and carrillo's for US $1200 - $US 1800 (pro A vs pro H). (plus GST, freight customs etc) Is it worth the bucks to upgrade the rods. I've done a forum search and had a read and the big HP guys all use aftermarket rods but where do we draw the line? Pistons.... Arias seem to be the go from what I've read, but always interested in more opinions. WTB GTR R33 standard crank in good condition rods? maybe new pistons

  12. not really sure if this is the right place to put this.... I want an RB25DET gearbox clutch/flywheel and the wreckers want to ream me for it, so I thought it would be better to buy an engine gearbox package and sell of the engine. Engines alone with wiring ecu etc ususally sell for about $2500 and gearboxes about $1500 and I can get the pack for $3500 maybe cheaper with some bargaining and a wad of cash. Soooo if anyone in adelaide wan't the engine part of this package I could probably get it for you for around $2200 mark alternatively gearbox wanted for a reasonable price!!!!!
  13. are 32 ones the same?? if so i've got some on my bench let me know if you still need them
  14. Price Drop $15k !!!!!!!
  15. Now I know this topic has been done and I have done my research but am left a bit confused.... I know the 33 GTR crank has something different with the oil pump drive that gives greater reliablity. Can I put the 33 GTR crank straight into my 32 GTR engine? my crank has spun a rod bearing on number 5 and needs to be replaced so I though I might as well upgrage at the same time. the crank can probably be repaired, but I think its worth the cash to just get a new (or good secondhand) one. Your thoughts??
