  1. I am interested as well
  2. Bernie likes ladyboys.
  3. pfft. the championship is fair. RBR have just been better. Ferrari have had a dog of a car all year and Alonso has had more than his fair share of "help" from his teammate. Sorry Massa we're just going to break the seal on the gearbox, not actually do any work on it but just enough to give you a 5 pace grid drop and help Alonso. To his credit, Alonso can (and has) driven a turd across the line for a place. He is an amazing talent. I don't think anyone gets away with more than Ferrari as far as the FIA are concerned though.
  4. One thing to consider is what happens if you drive over something that severs the fuel lines and the battery cable. You then have fuel and 12V exposed under the car, potential fire hazard! I don't think running high current 12V next to flammable fuel lines is a good idea.
  5. Please accept my apology on behalf of Mother Nissan that their 14 year old R34 reflector housings can't leap magically forward in technology so that they can be fitted with HID globes and not dazzle oncoming motorists.
  6. as above. the biggest thing to watch out for are idiot mechanics that top up red coolant with green. gums up the radiator, you gotta replace it.. don't ask how I know! if changing between red and green make sure you flush it out thoroughly. besides that, red or green.. whatever floats your boat.
  7. I'm calling you Careen now that I've seen you drive at texi
  8. great vid owen! switching between fast, normal and slow mo playback worked really well
  9. that was awesome, Eric not just the ingenious tool and machine work that went into it but the quality of the vid! I must admit, when I saw the welder spark up I thought at first you were using an oxy to cut the bastard off or something
  10. awesome day as always, thanks to the organisers+volunteers for another great event. so many skids! Should hold it on Bathurst day more often finished off 2 sets of tyres.. michelins started throwing big chunks and I had to swap them after only an hour and then my RE001's - the last pair have been to every texi with me - finally got down to the belts in the afternoon. Man those tyres have a hard casing on them! I had about 6 "last run"s because they just wouldn't die..
  11. Woo Corinne! I know, I missed the winter texi *sniff*... my car has been skidless for far too long.
  12. paid monies and emailed entry form.. woot
  13. I bought my car from Japlink about 6 years ago.. I found them no-pressure, no-bullshit and easy to deal with. Had a state roads inspection done, 5 page written report went over the car with a fine tooth comb so I knew exactly what I was buying. Would definitely buy from them again.
  14. The whole reason for DRS is that cars are aero-limited for grip. If you're behind another car you lose so much grip because the airflow is disturbed that you can't pass even if you're almost 2 seconds a lap quicker in clear air. They should bring back smaller capacity V10s to limit power, reduce aero and increase mechanical grip. Get rid of DRS, keep KERS why not.. bring back refuelling so that fuel load has an impact on race strategy (long stint vs short stint etc) and make the tyres not *quite* so temperamental.
  15. I maintain that he's a n00b. Look how he crashed in Oz, never seen anyone hit that wall before. Crashing into Perez (who was way off the racing line) is just brain dead. I would ask "what was he thinking" by being there but the answer is obviously not much. The only good thing about Maldonardo is getting to perve on his fiance.
  16. Great tyre, they have converted me back to Dunlop. Last well, not noisy, and they grip right down to being worn out. I have had plenty of other tyres that got 5000 or 10000km into them, hardened up and was like driving on ice in the rain. The TT's stay grippy for much longer. Recommended. I just replaced the rears after 25,000km, the fronts still have heaps of meat left on them. Can't work out why I expect if I was able to rotate tyres (running different sizes F-R) I would get 35-40k out of a full set. More if my right foot didn't weigh more than my left one Geoff
  17. ten are fags. also i wish i had a mute button for the commentators (the aussie ones). leave it to the BBC.
  18. Woah.. that's not good! (to say the least). Get well soon, Christian!
  19. Yes.. hearing the exhaust sound echo off the TAFE buildings was pretty cool too
  20. That's the great thing about SAU events, everyone is welcome (as you found out in the morning, some ribbing happens occasionally just because you're different but it's only done in the spirit of friendly competition!). Couldn't believe how low your 180 was, and how well it hooked up you were getting very quick acceleration even while sideways. Looked awesome on the long sweeps of "oh what a feeling" track, the smoke coming out the wheel arches and also out the top of the panel where it joins the boot, having a straight edge it looked like it was a solid sheet of smoke and there was plenty of it!
  21. Thanks to all the organisers, volunteers etc for another great day! In particular: Steveo for his soothing baritone briefing us in the morning Terry for instant feedback with times, reminder of the time I ran last run and encouragement when a good time was made (legend!) Eric for sweating over the BBQ and providing tasty tasty sangers and onions for everyone Photographers throughout the day for great pics of crossed up cars with smoke pissing out of the wheel arches! Shame the weather came through, I had saved a little bit of tyre for an afternoon finale but it just left me hungry for next time! Some great pics of my car so I'm stoked to have some mementos I can share with others
  22. The ring those contact tabs sit in is blue plastic, and the tabs are held in by little plastic "rivets" (they have a flat head on them that retains them). However the plastic head is extremely thin, mine broke just by looking at them. Put a drop of quick set superglue (the proper 10 second stuff) on the plastic ring and drop the contacts back in, press them gently into place with a small flat blade screwdriver and wait till the glue sets. Good as gold, fixed my mirrors 6 months ago and they work perfectly now. There is a fair bit of work pulling them apart to get to this point, so it's not for the faint hearted.
  23. TCS definite buzzkill. ABS doesn't bother me, although it gets terribly confused when I use the handbrake one of these days I'll remember to pull the fuse. HICAS still operational.. I don't let it cramp my style either
  24. Either way, someone at Ferrari nose what's going on.
