  1. that's one fine I 100% agree with. learn to work a switch. same goes for the ultrabright fog brake light. if it's not foggy, turn it off. it dazzles other drivers. just waiting for someone to come in whinging that their illegal HID bulb conversion got them a fine..

  3. well the argument for them is that they level the playing field somewhat, in previous seasons we have seen cars struggle to pass for 10+ laps and when they finally do they are suddenly 1.5 seconds a lap quicker. that indicates that it is too hard to overtake. whether DRS and KERS is the right way about it I'm not sure. I'd rather go back to a focus on mechanical grip, restrict the aero, being back the V10s or better yet V12s and rev limit and technology limit them to keep speeds reasonable. These V8s sound horrible and if F1 moves to 4 cylinder turbo I'll stop watching. Even hearing a V10 come out on track makes the hairs on the back of the neck stand up. The V8s sound horrible even moreso now they are doing part throttle blown diffuser trickery.
  4. I stare back at them until they bow their heads in acknowledgement of their inferiority (not owning a skyline). yeah if someone waves I wave back. I even pass a guy in a Silvia most days and wave at him too (sympathy wave, at least it's a nissan )
  5. Congrats mate - some helpful advice a friend was given when he bought his skyline and he gave me when I bought mine: 1) don't accelerate around corners 2) don't accelerate around corners 3) don't accelerate around corners take it easy, they are great cars but they will bite you if you don't respect them. I've seen an R33 written off right in front of me by someone who failed to obey the above rules. I can highly recommend an advanced driving course, it will get you aquainted with what happens when you lose traction. Besides that, enjoy they are great cars
  6. It's been theorised that the skull creates a resonant cavity at the frequency used (433MHz) - and that empty cavities work best. Oops!! Hi Chris As for holding up a remote to your mobile phone... LOL doesn't quite cover it. FKN LOL!!! gets close. You're dreaming.
  7. the sphincter of the universe's placement wasn't right but the previous tracks, eg China, has made for fantastic battles under brakes without simply gifting the position as happened in the sphincter of the universe. I don't mind DRS, they have to make it a close fight somehow and the previous attempts to reduce aero significance haven't been effective.
  8. Count me in for Texi! Paid + Faxed entry form bring on the skids
  9. Tried Clarke rubber and Kanga rubber to see if they have similar profile? They come to mind as suppliers worth asking. I'm keen on replacing mine too, but I'd just want a new rubber not the whole thing.
  10. Webber on Kovaleinen, Valencia 2010 was a good one. You wouldn't see Schumacher doing something that brain dead (he only crashes into someone if he will win from it).
  11. analysis good for a chuckle. lol @ DHL bit
  12. I reckon Petrov must have gotten out of that car a couple inches shorter than when he got in.. yikes. fkn lol!
  13. they still look too fresh.. clearly you don't drive your car hard enough
  14. re springs I read on here that the king springs have similar rates to the whitelines. king springs, bilsteins, suspension bushes. so just source it yourself, it's not hard. heck i did it and i'm lazy 100x better to drive after doing those simple items.
  15. Sorry to hear it, and if that were me I would be posting a whinge thread and chasing them up about it too (court, if necessary). However my car was inspected by state roads before I bought it and I only have good things to say about the report. Very thorough.
  16. it's one of the accessory belts. most likely the alternator belt.
  17. +1 for heli footage. i reckon voda are making an ad to coincide with melbourne F1 race. the F1 would be fine through the dipper. People forget that supercars race there all the time and their front bar is an inch off the ground and they are low slung too. maybe a slightly different line but i don't think it would be an issue.
  18. yeah one of my mates was getting SMS's from a bogan friend saying "let me know when the F1 crashes". honestly what a f**kwit. my pics here http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/356834-vodafone-mclaren-mercedes-mt-panorama/page__view__findpost__p__5725667
  19. my pics from today. great to see an F1 car tearing up the mountain although they weren't giving it 10/10ths for a promo day. weather was perfect, track dried about 30 mins before they went out. great success
  20. jeez do you want any boot space left? i have one of these enclosures, and a peerless 12" sub that suits VERY small boxes. sounds very good but he's not making them any more AFAIK. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/204315-making-r33-fibreglass-sub-box-anyone-interested/page__hl__sub+enclosure you don't need a massive enclosure like that unless you a) want to use a cheap driver or b) you want to rattle your fillings loose.
  21. jap dash is great, fuel gauge never worked that well tho (wrong sender). send me PM when you post pics + vids of it, i'd love to see it in action. still got an RB25 turbo in it? and locked diff? good times that i'd laugh at the reaction of the cop after talking to fatz. the profanity on the door would be nothing compared with the driver
  22. that's my old car! filename is accurate, but i'm hurt by that big sticker on the passenger door still got the redtop in it? jap dash? that was a while ago now..
  23. Thanks for sharing, Eric. I just read the thread end to end and really admire how you've had such a positive mindset throughout. Glad all the drivers/passengers are OK and that's the most important thing. Geoff
