  1. A friend was given some good advice when he bought his car. They told him there are 3 things you need to know about skylines: 1) Don't accelerate around corners. 2) Don't accelerate around corners. 3) Don't accelerate around corners!! It's sensible advice. Skylines are tail-happy cars on the throttle because they are very neutral to begin with. They have not been designed to understeer to keep muppets safe like many other RWD cars. I would highly suggest a defensive driving day or a skidpan day to get aquainted with the car and how it handles. As other have said, use 98 RON fuel as a minimum, service it every 5000km, fit a proper alarm/immobiliser, and warm it up gently before thrashing. Start it, wait 10 seconds and drive off. Drive gently for about 10 minutes so the engine AND transmission are up to temp. Then treat it however you want. Drive gently again for the last 3 minutes of a trip, and then you only need to let it idle while you grab your wallet and phone and undo your belt. No need for 5 minute turbo timers or any of that shit, although my alarm came with one and I leave it to idle for 90 seconds if i have hit boost near my destination. Follow the above and you'll be rewarded with an awesome car.
  2. great idea. i'll bring the BBQ you bring the meat. we can have a beer while we wait. seriously though, between this and the casino carpark there should be a public service announcement not to leave your car there. i always find it suss that the CCTV system never seems to have helpful footage either.
  3. Security in Motion. search and you will find dozens of happy customers.
  4. Agree with the first statement, although I reckon they will be shit full stop. Agree with the second, but Bilsteins are around $1100 a full set and Kings are $300 a full set. So $1400 has you laughing, what's 200 bucks to do it properly? $1100 for Pedders shocks - you've got to be joking.
  5. there's a button up the top of SAU between "Members" and "Help" - it will give you the answer.
  6. I don't reckon they were mucking around, Horner was telling Webber to quit being such a mope and Webber was telling him to blow it out his arse. Fun times ahead in the RBR team! Mark doesn't give a shit he's signed with RBR for next year if he doesn't get a WDC in these 2 years he never will. I doubt he has the means to get there, personally. Still enjoyed his dominance today though.
  7. did that but with basic sports bilsteins that have circlip height adjustment not a thread like coilovers. fitting them in 2 weeks time they are replacing flogged out OEM shocks and springs. i would not go coilovers in a daily, you are paying for height adjustment, springs that are usually too hard and a cheap shock absorber unless you spend a good deal of money.
  8. Very obvious where the RBR allegiance lies. They should have said sorry seb, yours got damaged mark kept his in good nick. there's f**k all difference anyway so just get out there and get on it. To actually take it off one drivers car and put it on the others is showing that with only 12 points difference at the halfway point in the season they are already using any chance to give Vettel an advantage and make sure he wins WDC not Webber. if it was 3 races to go and vettel had 20 points on his teammate then sure. but now it's just a flimsy excuse.
  9. Tiff is a much better driver but he also comes across as a bit of a cock. Clarkson used to be rubbish but he's been practicing his slidey slidey and he's not that bad now. the TG guys are all much better fun Tiff has the entertainment value of a German once you get past his driving skills and that other broad Vicki is just annoying. TG for sure. 5th gear bores me to tears oh here's a fast car, Tiff you go drive it sideways. Great.
  10. If you were a snotty executive at Lamborghini would you want your company's brand name on a Polo? I mean.. they're built to a price and I have no doubt that for the price they're good cars. But no.
  11. ADRs state that your speedo has to read between 0 (perfect) and +10% of the actual speed. Therefore if you are doing 60km/h the possible speedo reading is between 60km/h and 67km/h (rounding up). At no time is it possible for your speedo to register under the speed limit but you be doing more than the speed limit, so if they ping you for 61km/h then your speedo definitely said you were doing at least this speed. However I think that expecting people to keep that close an eye on their instruments is unreasonable and some fair leeway given to not ping people for under 10km/h over. Most cops won't do this anyway, speed cameras.. well.. they're clearly marked so you should be conservative with your speed just in case.
  12. Lamborghini are owned by Volkswagen, who make the Polo. what's your point? sorry, I don't mean to be so abrasive.. but the fact that Continental don't put their name on it should probably tell you something. I'd say that brand of tyres is built to a price and that price is "not very good".
  13. don't forget you are pushing a brick through the air. I bet you would have noticed a difference if you'd stuck to 110km/h. My Skyline did 1/4 of a tank to gosford and back and the rest of it daily duties, stuck in traffic etc. 10.4 litres to 100km.
  14. agree
  15. english motherf**ker. do you speak it?
  16. tyres are either old (rubber has dried out) or underinflated meaning excessive sidewall flex has fatigued it. never heard of that brand before and that's reason enough to avoid them. apparently good what - to the guy who sold them to you? of course he says they're good he just got money for jam. never mind he almost killed you. i'd be pissed.
  17. black screen, downloaded at 500kb/sec for about a minute and then i gave up. meh. sorry dude your website sucks i'm not waiting for that shit
  18. you know you're pro when you do procaine
  19. the only other thing you can try is "exercising" the potentiometer next to the greencap. this pot is used for calibrating the tacho and normally will be near enough if you leave it alone. if the contact has gotten dirty then it will make poor contact and possibly cause the problem as well. using a screwdriver turn it back and forth a few times and then reset to the original position.

  21. all R33 turbos (dunno about the povo spec) come with a viscous LSD unless you have an "ALSD" light on your instrument cluster in which case you have the active LSD. I'm sure a search would uncover a wealth of information if you want to know more.
  22. I think I've got a misfire... especially first thing in the morning!
  23. Yep matty - stop at orange unless it's unsafe to do so. going through a red at any time is illegal though. Why do you need to accelerate? If you have no choice but to carry on through the intersection then go through it at normal speed. Trying to beat the red just adds speed into the mix and makes it more dangerous. If a semi is that far up your ass that he can't stop for an orange light then he's coming through the intersection after you and that will all be captured on camera, so I'm sure you would not get fined in that situation.
  24. yes. a 1.5 way will act very similarly to a 1 way or open diff because the locking action under decel is minor.
