yes i have a date with the camera when i get home from work tonight the gala party was pretty cool, there were some funny outfits there. the bad part was the bar service - 40 minutes to get drinks, warm beer, and bar staff that barely understood english. i wasn't game to go through that more than once during the evening.

+1.. that's a very generous offer I've posted my details in the Kudos thread! It's great to see the Movember concept spreading, I heard of it back in October but it has gained a huge amount of ground now that it's running. Last time I looked there were 33,000 people in NSW participating, next year is going to be HUGE.

maybe she felt threatened that you were such a sexy bitch some other woman would try and steal you away I'm growing a Mo as well! Might put pics up later, took a few to commemorate the halfway point
  13. you have to jack the car up - make sure the car is SECURE on AXLE STANDS before getting under it. never ever ever trust your life to a jack. drivers side, halfway along the box, right at the top is where it is on the R33. There is a neutral switch and a reversing switch. The reversing switch is the one that's harder to get to, of course You can get in there with a ring spanner if you disassemble the plug (pull your new reversing switch's plug apart so you can see how to do it). I was lucky enough to be able to do mine with the gearbox in place, others have had to loosen the gearbox crossmember or drop the gearbox and push it over to one side.
  14. good for fun, great for drift, bad for handling, tyres, driveline harshness, attention from police and atrotious for safety in the wet. had one in my last car, it was great, but i didn't attract attention to myself and was VERY careful if it rained. won't have one again on a road car, they are less practical and it makes the car more difficult to drive enthusiastically. it was fun watching valet attendants shit themselves though I'd prefer a 1.5 way mechanical these days. but if it's sideways you want then it's hard to go past a locked diff
  15. That's the one benefit of a locker, if you put your foot down around a corner you were going sideways - no ifs, buts or wondering when it would come out it always did, right on cue. The same handling trait in the hands of a novice will result in them reversing the car into a pole at high speed, and the other thing lockers do is give you horrible understeer when you're off-throttle. That almost caught me out when I overcooked a corner, you really have to throttle them through the twisty stuff. The stock viscous LSD is reasonable (I'm fortunate enough to have one in great nick). I will eventually be upgrading to a 1.5 way mechanical though..
  16. They pulled over the 2 most standard cars on the cruise.. mine has an aftermarket rear muffler and that's it. It's almost like they did it deliberately
  17. wow. that's quite surprising - my R31 had a locker and I always assumed it was highly illegal.. the way it behaved in the wet it should be! (anything that's that much fun surely has to be against the law haha)
  18. the contact patch thing is a myth. force is pressure times area, and the pressure a tyre can exert on the road is equal to its internal air pressure. therefore no matter what shape of tyre (wide or skinny) you will have the SAME area on the road. However, a wider tyre will have a wider patch and a skinny tyre will have a longer patch. wider patch is better for cornering grip, skinnier patch is better for driving in the wet as there is less water to push out of the way.
  19. Ditto. The problem is with a turbo timer it tricks the rest of the car into thinking the key is still in the ignition and turned on. You wouldn't want to have the headlight reminder beeping while you were driving There must be a solution to it but it depends on your alarm and how much of a guru the installer is. I should probably hassle mine to come up with a fix sometime. Failing that I've got jumper leads in the boot so if I do flatten it hopefully I can flag someone down and get a jump
  20. the only difference the kaaz run-in makes is that rather than having 1000km of your diff feeling harsh because it hasn't worn in yet, you have a yak in the bushes after making yourself dizzy and the diff is fine I wouldn't do half an hour of figure 8's... got better things to do with my time. would consider doing an old pac run to bed in a diff though
  21. Cliffs: brakes stop the wheels, tyres stop the car! Edit - unless you've faded your brakes.. then they do nothing
  22. What if I said he pulled me over for a "Random Breath Test" and sent me on my way before making me blow into the machine! "damn it's stock.. right, piss off"
  23. I was also pulled over after leaving the carpark, but they let me go pretty quickly. Perks of having a standard car didn't take many pics, but I count 14 cars in this one (click for fullsize):
  24. there's no need to do a burnout to run in a diff.
