  1. I believe Megs #21 Synthetic Sealant is the pro version of Tech Wax. I haven't found a place that stocks it, plus being a 2L bottle it'll probably be expensive, so I'm going to get some Tech Wax and see how I go this weekend. If you want longer lasting products, a polymer sealant will beat a wax. However the wax looks a bit nicer. Can't have everything
  2. actually i'm not surprised, the SAU search engine is shithouse. I've heard 3.8 to 4.1L for the gearbox and 1 to 1.3L for the diff.
  3. there's your problem. pay for a decent tune!
  4. This has been extensively discussed here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=22458
  5. ooh i haven't done the wisemans drive in ages. i'm interested, especially if the weather shapes up to be nice and warm! bit of windows-down cruising would be nice
  6. Looks great!! I'm going to use a similar process on my car soon, #9 then #7 then #21 if I can find it, or NXT Tech Wax if I can't. I believe #21 to be the pro version of Tech Wax. I would NEVER wash a car with human products, would you ever wash your hair with cut 'n' polish? Even if you were planning to condition it afterwards?
  7. you could always do a search, it's been covered 11ty billion times.
  8. that's nothing, I jerk for 5 minutes after a while of driving. God damn, skylines are great
  9. special audio shop. they're a cut above pioneer/kenwood/alpine/clarion etc Edit - and jaycar
  10. http://www.aus-cartalk.com/auspoc/techstuff.htm Cooper make very good filters. They're probably even better than your autoshop brand, depending on who makes those filters. I always used Cooper filters on my R31
  11. boston acoustics are great quality
  12. that points to a basic cooling system problem. blocked radiator/thermostat or f**ked water pump. clutch fan will have no influence at cruise speeds, so forget that. especially in 4th
  13. Actually means "Aww, Ate It"
  14. very nice dude... very nice
  15. According to their website RS will engage more smoothly, which is what you want on the street. On the track, response time counts more and racers don't care if the diff clunks with sudden engagement. I would get a 1.5 way diff for the street, personally. Shuddering I'm not sure about, but I expect it would be less of an issue with the RS diff as the springs absorb the initial shock. I've heard the KAAZ diff shudders like buggery when new, but once broken in they are much better.
  16. are you for real.. take it to someone who's heard of a clutch fan!!! when cold, the fan is driven by a viscous coupling so it spins, but not with any force. it will move a nominal amount of air through the radiator but if the car heats up the clutch should lock, and then the fan is driven directly proportional to engine revs (you should probably be able to hear it, although the difference is less with more modern cars. My R31 sounded like a falcadore when the fan kicked in, R33s are much quieter owing to better technology in the shape of the fan blades). If your car is overheating these are the possibilities: 1) Shagged water pump 2) Blocked thermostat 3) Blocked radiator 4) Clutch fan not locking up properly. Does it overheat on cruise or just when stationary?
  17. You ask like I'm an expert! I have good advice that shockproof will solve your grinding problems, but there's more realisation these days that while it works great in the short term you may be shortening your box's life by using it. Not sure if any additives like the nulon G70? will help shift quality. Otherwise just go for shockproof and when the box blows up get a new one
  18. http://www.aus300zx.com/tech/lights.htm for anyone else needing extra help. You can get Plus 50 globes in H3, I did this mod in my R31 and it improved matters.
  19. I think you'd be better off in your mum's echo, you've already proven you can't control a skyline even with 4 good wheels on it
  20. yeah that charge voltage sounds reasonable, so does the rest voltage of the battery. what happens if you disconnect the battery and then reconnect it before starting the next morning?
  21. I'm planning on using Motul Gear 300 in my gearbox and diff when I get the time to do it.
  22. that's how you know it's aftermarket. R33s look and handle great in standard form (until the suspension wears out anyway )
  23. if you get no chattering when cold sounds like you need to run thicker oil in general?
