  1. hmm interesting. looks like the vacuum lines actually duck in front of the pipe and then head off to the charcoal cannister. that might answer my question if there are only two lines though.. thanks
  2. Can someone take a closeup pic or two of their crossover pipe? Specifically interested in the way the vacuum lines run and where they end, to see if I can keep my R31 happy.. TIA
  3. Mine came from Flexwebber, I assume (since I seldom get PMs on here, one arrived today and it coincides with spammage)
  4. it's good to hear some mature skyline enthusiasts have been recognised for once

No permanent cameras but i've seen cops trapping on gore hill fwy before. supposedly they sometimes sit on the bradfield hwy under the falcon/ernest st bridge though.
  6. A smaller turbo running high boost and producing less power will be pushing fairly hot air into the motor, which makes detonation et al more likely. I'd go for the larger turbo, less boost, more power. Part of the power gain comes from lower exhaust restriction with the bigger turbine, so don't forget that. It's probably better to push a larger volume of cooler air through the motor, ultimately more power will mean higher cylinder temps, but I'd rather be making a given figure with a bigger turbo than a small one (assuming the little one is being driven to the limit of its efficiency range). Lag, of course, is another story
  7. i'm using motul 8100 year round. the only difference being i don't thrash my car in hot weather, aside from being harder on the engine you make less power anyway so there's no point.
  8. Wanted: compressor elbow for RB25 turbo (right angle outlet from compressor housing to intercooler piping) thanks.
  9. well, now that you mention it.... last night was pretty average your track days have always been great fun though
  10. did someone say drift? shit. I'd better get my finger out and fix a few things
  11. bump.. anything happening with this sale? your PM box is full.
  12. re turbo - oil and water lines or no? how much shaft play? and where in syd?
  13. Having any filter is still better than having no filter for sure, but all the little dust and grit particles will accelerate wear in the engine, they get into the sump as well and make the oil dirtier faster. The difference isn't huge but over the course of a few years might make a measurable (if you pulled the engine down) difference. You likely wouldn't notice any difference in driving the thing though. My apexi filter was looking quite tired, so I just bought another one. easy
  14. no but I've used a KYB shocker on my girlfriend. she was not impressed.
  15. 0W has always seemed too light for my liking.. and given things really don't get that cold here I'd stick with at least a 5W. Oil pressure is important too, not just flow. The other rating is the hot viscosity which is more important (since, if you boost your car when it's cold you're an idiot). 40 for city use and 60 for track use is what I go by... I use motul 8100 which is 5W-40.
  16. They're not bad.. do grip fairly well. General impression is not as good as the dunlops but they're probably on par given I've only had the dunlops on the pulsar and only had the bridgeys on my (r31, with ordinary suspension) skyline..
  17. sounds.. worrying. did you get it aligned after having the suspension done? you MUST do this. although, i've not heard of a car changing behaviour like you describe.. i wouldn't be driving it fast until you know what's going on!
  18. I've had a message from him "mysteriously lost" in the ether, after payment they advised 7-10 days or whatever and i emailed them after 12, heard nothing then emailed again after 5 days saying "wtf's going on guys" and he said he replied... so it took much longer than it should have to get what I ordered (apexi were out of stock) but it did arrive in the end. Maybe I was just unlucky..
  19. There are always those times when the road ahead looks clear, you give it a squirt in 3rd and next thing you know you're going a lot faster than the number on the sign says you can. It's a temporary thing, you give it the berries for a couple of hundred metres and then slow down again. Most of the time you get away with it. 140 in a 70 sounds huge but remember homebush bay drive is a 2 lane split carriageway with bugger all on each side of the road. I can think of a lot stupider places to be doing 140 in a 70, which is ironically why cops trap there because it feels (and is) safe to travel a bit faster.
  20. you've either got your head in the sand, living so close to peats ridge and not knowing anything about the runs that go on up there... or you're a cop. Either way... we don't do that here.
  21. Going by what others were saying, it was quite extensively modified. I didn't see it driving during the cruise but I believe it was pretty stiff too.
  22. sort of died how? I thought it was new? Anyway, GW on removing it. I wish I had a garage I could pull shit apart in
  23. good cruise guys, glad I came! teh 31 needs new shocks tho
  24. In for Aaron's answer, since I did the 3 stage package and wouldn't mind my membership thing finally happening Although if it's clear he's not going to pay I'll probably pay the extra myself anyway.. considering i've already put my share of the joining fee into the SAU account (back in january)
