  1. I just ordered a couple of silicon lengths from pirtek BUT, I must have tried over a dozen places (several auto stores, hardware stores, plumbing, hose specialists, radiator specialists) and nobody has ordinary rubber hose. All the auto stores go "uhh yeah, we can order silicon hose......" and just trail off like it's something they have no knowledge of and couldn't care less about, so it'd probably take 6 weeks of me strangling them with the phone cord before I actually saw my order. Who the heck carries it? 2.5" ID rubber hose. I'm really curious
  2. Are you sure your boost gauge is reading correctly? ie you haven't touched anything to do with its vacuum feed and you know it was reading correct before... An RB20 actuator at 10psi should not open at 5psi, for any reason. Even if the ECU is pulsing the actuator like mad it can only feed 5psi of pressure to the actuator and it won't open! I have connected 2 of my vacuum lines in reverse in the past after removing my crossover pipe and the boost did read a fair bit lower than it should have been.
  3. If it's your first day and you're taking it easy then you'll be right as long as you start the day with some meat on your rear wheels. If, however, you want to carve it up and make lots of smoke you'll probably want an extra set
  4. I'm already goin
  5. It was never good
  6. ... I'd love to do a time trial but I'd want the cooperation of the authority owning the road first
  7. cool.. looks like you guys had fun. I'm a poof too, i've had uni work piling up and decided to get some shit done for a change.
  8. mechanic time. either the sender is faulty or you have oil pressure problems. either way, it's not something you want to muck around with
  9. fixed
  10. it sounds like your coil packs are getting tired, mine does the same thing. check plugs first - i'd put new plugs in people recommend gapping them to 0.8. if you've done that and it's still missing i'd say coil packs.
  11. Dale, I think the only person who got offended was you.. if you're trying to get a point across, explain yourself clearly using neutral language. Also by the sounds of things, some clearing up in your head was required before you knew what it was that bothered you - if you don't know what you think, how can you expect us to? Might help if you clear your head first, then figure out why something bothers you, then open your mouth. You will learn though, that if things annoy you it's far, far easier to just ignore them. Case in point - you've done yourself no favours by having a bitch about it. Lots of things are annoying in life, and if you learn to deal with it without a fuss you'll have a much easier time of things.
  12. 24kt response Dino
  13. As people have said, wash the car and wax it regularly. Wax maintains a nice smooth surface so dirt will be removed much more easily, it'll just slide off. After a few cycles you'll build up a layer of wax which will protect the paint.
  14. I pinched it out of B-man's wallet while he was trying to tune a $2 whore in oxford st who was really a man. Abo Bob has it now..
  15. So it was just a normal evening at the local, I was downing a few beers and chatting to my mates when a hottie came up and said hi. Blonde, just a bit shorter than me, nice eyes wearing a tasty cleavage top and short little skirt. I made small talk with her for a little while and then suggested we find some place quieter. Anyway, her idea of some place quieter was around the back of the pub, she dropped her panties and I just hitched her skirt up and hammered away. Only thing is, one of the security guards came round the corner as we were finishing up and he shouted out so we split, and I must have dropped my c0ckring in the dark. Never got a name or a number either... Hi dale :wavey:
  16. Dale, I have only one suggestion in light of your silly crusade cum bitch and moan session. grow up son... it's just the internet
  17. I'm pumped for it. Been practicing, should be a ripper
  18. Had a fun day as well, got out there a few times and poked the R31 a bit. Was just getting into it after lunch when i started leaking oil around the turbo though, so I parked it and took lots of photos, and car-whored with most of the SAU guys. The 31 will be back in good form shortly, even if the "only" solution is an RB25 turbo (altho if it's an easy fix, will thrash the poor lil RB20 turbo some more) Thanks Dan/Brad/Pete/Brendan for letting me in the screamer seat. Although the only time I really got terrified was when Pete started carving it up in the 31. It wasn't so much the drift, it was the wild look and uncontrollable giggling that made me realise I was riding with a true madman.... Bring on FD2 is all I can say. My car wasn't built for going in a straight line! Edit: Pics are uploaded: http://geoff.yourweb.com.au/gallery/album15
  19. 7am, sheezus. Who on earth would be up at that hour? I'll most likely see you guys in north ryde. If I'm not running late, of course
  20. I always used mineral oil in my charade, and that thing got fanged off its tits. pod, exhaust, cams and a 7500RPM rev limiter. 140,000km and it had 61.5fwkw :bahaha:
  21. More Photos: http://geoff.yourweb.com.au/gallery/album13 Taken with my trusty old Canon FT QL and some sensia slide film. Scanned using a Frontier lab (blame them for the shithouse colour balance I don't yet have the software to fix) but take a squizz anyway
  22. semi synthetics are only around 15% synthetic. 85% is plain old mineral oil. i would always use a full synthetic in a turbo'd motor (run-in period excepted of course).
