  1. Might do the same, if SAU create a "best drift-pig" category I think it was a great day, and a huge amount of effort to put it on for the first time by a lot of people. Granted some people spent hours polishing their beasts and didn't walk away with a prize but even if the judging is "fair" someone will always walk away feeling hard done by. Perhaps you're taking it a little too seriously - I certainly think you're being very critical of the day without any knowledge of what changes are being considered for next years' show. There will certainly be a few, cos you only learn by trying. The aim should be to detail your cars nicely, turn up, show them off a bit and enjoy people gawking and turning green with envy when they look at your ride. It was never supposed to be an ultra-competitive competition. The prizes are secondary IMO, just enjoy the day!
  2. I need more bandwidth
  3. German beer! it's local too so I can just stumble/cab it home :bahaha: You'd better come this time andrew, i hate it when you pull out
  4. I'm also waiting on officimacul membership, it's being handled as part of the whole 3 stage driver training thing B-man organised so i'm hoping to just get a pleasant surprise one day
  5. I don't see why not - my main concern would be making sure the pod filter isn't exposed to the elements (water, stones, large insects). But my pulsar is drawing air from a cavity between the bodywork and the inner guard for the front wheel so if you find a good spot, why the heck not.
  6. i'm sure everyone will have their digi there. for something a bit different i'm going to take my film SLR and (if i can find it on a sunday morning) some nice slide film - and get it developed and scanned at a hideously overinflated price. kinda bored with my compact camera's inability to take photos as good as I'd like, and colours on slide film are sooo beautiful.
  7. damn, i almost woke up early enough to make the entrants cruise. that's scary oh well.. i'll mosey up late morning regardless
  8. 36 always caused uneven wear in the pulsar (205/50/15) so i use 32 i think. thought i'd try 30psi in the skyline and see how the tyre wear went, and then adjust it from there.
  9. an aggravated burnout is one done because you can't drift for shit, everyone is laughing and you're pissed off that you look unco in your sik ride so you rip a fat burnout. a normal burnout is one done when you are drifting hard and people are cheering and you don't manage to finish it, so you go around and do some circlework and make heaps of smoke and everyone cheers louder
  10. very lucky man. i am pretty mindful of people on bikes. a lot of people aren't, tho. and dale, you were right... this isn't the place, post a new thread if you want bike advice.

  18. Ken Oath. I'll be doing my part
  19. My first serious taste was a friend's toyota crown with a 7MGTE conversion. He took me for a lap round the block and the seat fabric crawled fair up my arse - the acceleration was phenomenal.
  20. seems to vary a bit between models. and it's unusual to hear about a motor being damaged by lack of oil pressure - unless of course it's being used on a track and suffers from starvation under hard braking or something. Mine will get pretty close to 0 at idle, with a thin oil like 5W-40. I tried some thicker synth oil and it held pressure a touch better but revability and cold start were affected. Now that it's coming back into winter again i put 5W-40 back, and I reckon thin oil's the go in any case. My unprofessional opinion is not to worry about it, just work out what's normal for your car and if it does anything different THEN worry.
  21. haha yeah an espresso machine.. i definitely needed a coffee around mid-morning to keep the enthusiasm going! and next time i'm going to find somewhere better than maccas to eat lunch (reckon any pizza joints deliver to eastern creek?)
  22. also, the red top came in NICS and ECCS versions. the NICS version had a head design that gave it better low down torque but strangled it up top. the ECCS is much closer to the silver-top RB20 in design and power output. Personally I wouldn't bother with a NICS. either ECCS (the engine that's in my car) or a silvertop - the latter is preferable due to its newer vintage and slightly higher power output.

  24. couple more pics from the events i've driven in... haven't taken any really good closeups of my car - i'd have to 3-step it before I did that http://geoff.yourweb.com.au/gallery/Speed-Zone
