  1. abso****inglutely. Plus, although the cop was an idiot you were giving him attitude. Any smarter cop would have gone over your car with a fine tooth comb and a defect pad and then you'd have whinged harder. So bear that in mind, if you give a cop shit and you get some in return don't expect sympathy. I agree he's harrassing you and probably deserved it (except about the fog lights, he's dead right about that) but you are doing all the right things to rub a cop up the wrong way and come off a lot worse for your trouble. Don't take it as a personal attack, I see your point of view but I've also seen how this sort of thing turns into "cops are assholes and defect me for no reason" (when I called them cops and insinuated that their mother was a whore - is the part that people never mention)
  2. Most of the experiences I've had with cops have shown them to be decent enough. I've been warned 3 times for: * spinning my wheels "stop being a goose!" (that was the first time i was pulled over, handed him my ATM card by mistake too hahaha....) * chirpie at the lights and speeding (no reading, and I found out later he almost crashed into my mate trying to catch up with me) * "driving like fangio" (sorry officer, a 1.3L charade DOES need to be redlined to get up a long hill) been asked to leave the area when pulled over near peats ridge group of skylines followed by two cops in a camry, who watched us from a distance when we parked and got out. hwy patrol cruised through too, but they didn't approach or harrass us. kudos. have had the cops chase a convoy through hornsby with some determination specifically to defect a loud rx7 we had with us. fair enough it was too loud for the road but damn it sounded nice and we were just passing through anyway (apparently there's a cop based there who puts the c**t in constable). if you're in the wrong place or your car is attention-seeking then you'll probably get bent over. but if you know this is the case and still do it then you accept the hassles part of it too I say... (says the guy with the stock SSS pulsar hehe)
  3. I'm interested, will confirm when a firm plan coalesces and I'm free
  4. i thought i'd replied.. oh well. I'll be spectating on the day. Must get a car I can thrash on the track without feeling guilty so I can come out and show you all what I haven't got :bahaha:
  5. if i was a club member I'd reply.
  6. I'll see how willing the body is to get to homebush by 10, if it can't be done I'll see you at palmy
  7. Apathy prevents me!
  8. I start mine, let it idle for a few seconds so that the oil has a chance to circulate through the engine and then put the clutch in and select 2nd, let the handbrake off (since I'm on a downhill slope) and then ease it into gear and drive off sedately ( I don't have the time to start a car and then sit around playing with my stereo for 5 minutes, and driving it gently warms it up faster anyway.
  9. get a xenon-filled halogen if you can. eg plus-30 or plus-50. Or higher wattage. Blue tinting makes the light blue how - by blocking orange light! Light that could be shining down the road. Bugger that, I want more light, not blue light
  10. After some recommendations for suspension places (around brookvale/chatswood is ideal, but I'll go a bit further if i have to) to take the pulsar. I want to get new shocks, nothing special but there is a knock in the right front suspension which I need diagnosed and fixed to make replacing the shocks worthwhile. No Bull was No Help. It probably is just a worn bush but I don't want to buy 4 new shocks and new bushes and then find it's still there, they wouldn't give me a positive answer. I have a good general mechanic I can take it to but he's mainly servicing and engine type stuff, I don't think suspension is his forte but I might try him anyway. Any other guru workshops around that you've used?
  11. huh? all of a sudden I'm liberating 2 jugs.... is there a snatch involved? *crosses fingers*
  12. I've heard if you laminate them, stubborn stains wipe right off! /me leapfrogs that line in the sand again... (ok ok I'll stop whoring.... now!)
  13. I think I've already registered my interest in some other place but I'll whore through here to make the numbers look impressive anyway
  14. I take it you'll be attempting the man-on-top, woman-in-magazine position?
  15. boner? (I would assume you have to take care of it since your wife isn't there tonight...)
  16. I bought some motul 8100 because I was too lazy to drive further from home in search of (cheaper) mobil 1. besides which, the mobil 1 I had in the car broke down quite suddenly at around 7500km since being changed. that kind of end-of-life knee worries me, it's too quick. I guess you REALLY know when the oil's had enough though.. "holy christ it's below the low mark and it's turned really dark!" (previous checks had all shown very little oil usage and still light golden colour) hmmmmmmmmmmm.....
  17. *raises eyebrows* oh, you were talking about quake... LAN night would be funny. Everyone needs to get into Live for Speed first tho
  18. mobil 1 does seem to go off.. i have checked my oil a few times since last service and it's been sweet, only a light brown colour and didn't look like it had used any... then i checked the other day and it's below the low mark :uhh: and also turned quite dark. only just 8000km since last service on a pulsar, so even on an NA car I'd be changing it at 5000km intervals in future or be very careful about checking your oil regularly
  19. somebody say swedish teens? i'm there.

  23. can we stop replying to this now... every time i see this thread i think "ah crap, who's.... oh it's merli's april fool thread again"
  24. SR20DET goes in as soon as I figure out a plausible explanation for why there is a snail like object beside my engine and why the car suddenly does awesome 3rd gear burnouts at anything more than 1/4 throttle...
