If you can find a good auto electrician he should be able to bridge the two wires that make the motor put the window up and get you back to a closed window. If you've already got the switch exposed then it should be a really simple 30 second job and he shouldn't charge you much - unless there's something I don't know about nissan power window switches! After that you'll need a new switch, try wreckers. I have never looked at power window switches to be honest though, so anything i've said may not be entirely true

The CCD I used was $110 retail, and I'll be looking at spending several times that amount just on the camera when this idea gets going. As Tex says the real deal is for us. It's custom work, and will be a lot more elaborate eventually.

benm, the camera is only a little B&W CCD model, which I bought because it wasn't too expensive and would allow me to pilot the idea of mounting external cameras and mics. Re sound, I have already trialled mics in the engine bay and it's pretty good. I need to build a preamp before I can get the sound and video working together. Once I've done that I'll be choosing a colour camera. Tex and I had been musing about it for a few weeks (ie "wouldn't it be cool if...") and then I thought hell let's try it, bought what I needed on a friday afternoon and made up the cables. Turned up 20mins late to dinner with a bit of a smirk until I spilled the beans and said I had onboard video and we tested it that night, then I brought it with me on the hunter cruise the next day. So it's very much a prototype

merli: it's Taz, from looney tunes cartoons! dark: it's encoded with divx 5.0.2 so if you've got an old 4.x or 3.x version of the codec it might not work.

For those who weren't aware, I had an external camera mounted on my car on the day of the hunter cruise to Amanda's and took some footage of the day. It's now been edited and is suitable for viewing. Great cruise, I enjoyed it. I've got some B&W footage from my mini camera - only a prototype setup at the moment but I'll dub some of it to audio and put it up when I get a chance. Mona got quite a workout on the dirt section, don't have much of a tolerance for up and down do you? Shame Incidentally Mona, my arse featured in the "other" film so don't worry about it.. these things happen
