Is This A Scam?
PRIMO replied to varsana's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
yes its scam ive had many customers ask if i can buy these cars and myself being in Japan all there websites they have had are blocked for user with Japanese IP address they have had quiet a few websites made so far So Be Advised under no circumstances do these car even exist or would you ever recieve a vehicle once you have paid it has been documented in many websites mainly in UK and European markets. -
For Curiousity sake and a cheap run around i purchased a BZG11 EX Cube 2004 7 seater last week for a work vehicle here in japan. apart from the fuel consumption and Looks im pretty excited about getting it ready to drive.... Ahhh the benifits of living in japan ...... buy the import u want to drive any time ...... I gotta say there is so many holes hiden in this car to store things you will need to make a list to know where you put some things, For those who will be buying Cube Cubic 7 seaters you will be very supprised how big the cargo space is with the 2 rows of seats folded down in the rear.

Wanting To Import A R34 25gt-4
PRIMO replied to JGTC's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
auction sheet translates interior dirty rust under the car seat has cigarette burn hole its worn and scratchy B panel meaning back end panel step has wave so its small rear accident in the spare wheel well where it meets rear panel. i agree with craig also im almost 100% sure this car will not exist due to listing dates and there web site does say its part of dealer network which at most keep cars no longer than 3- 4 weeks. ENR34 GT4 Skylines in coupe 4WD version are rare. -
Side Intrusion Bars...
PRIMO replied to frozenwaffles's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
1st we would need to know what year skyline you have as most skylines built after 1992 have factory side intrusion bars fitted. if you have the earlier 1 than 1992 its most likely installed with large pop rivets that are visable on the inner sides where the door locks are and in between the two door hinges. if this is visable you have compliance type fitted. if you cant see these u need to look inside the door which means removal of the door card to see if there is a solid tube or thicker type flat steel about 3" tall with small chanels running horizontal at about halfway from top and bottom of the door. In the case you have nothing ur car would have no side intrusion protection. hope this helps -

Different Levels Of Compliance?
PRIMO replied to byebye's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
the Bloke must have been talking about a persoanl import these cars are owned by someone more than 12months overseas and are allowed in under the personal import Scheme not RAWS so the only go thru an Engineers certification and mod plated to be allowed to register this differs for all states . this would mean if you moved interstate it may need to be rechecked and signed off by an engineer from that state. In the Case your question is asking if you are a private person importing or a dealer imports a vehicle unders the Raws system they are all complied axactly to a national standard set by raws and would be able to register in any state. So really you need to find out if the car was a personal import or a Raws complied car. for your own information Personal imports have a yellow type Id plaque stating the vin and personal import. for old Raws complied cars they are green ID plate and in the last time raws went crazy they changed it to purple colour with all details of raws compliance workshops name and Vin # etc .. ask the seller for a photo of the import plate it should clearly state what type of import it is. Hope this helps Regards, Phil -

Help With Radio
PRIMO replied to pocus's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
To answer the question correctly you have a radio that does not cover all the bands to australian frequency's you will need the part called a band expander that fits in the antena line at the radio or just purchase a new radio CD player is the better solution as band expanders tend to ruin radio tuners as it adds a small amount of power to the radio antena which frys the tuner electronics after a while. there is no fix or code for these radio's at all -

PRIMO replied to SSHatch's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
No its illegal to comply a car with japanese tyres fitted. so to comply your car you will need to fit new tyres no way round it.. -
Jap Tyres And Compliance...
PRIMO replied to SSHatch's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
Absolutly nothing is stopping you if it has the correct markings ..it is your personal property and you did follow the rules and registered your car with compliance tyres fitted right.... but i have heard of insurance companies kicking up a stink in insurance claims if there is no DOT on your tyres. -
Jap Tyres And Compliance...
PRIMO replied to SSHatch's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
i would say the best possible answer is there really is no differance we all import our tyres from all companys world wide yes there maybe some DOT stamped on tyres i have seen many here with dot samps and many without but this makes the tyre no differant from 1 stamped without from the same maker and brand type. Prevention of registration was brought about due to the quaility control was almost nil and a lot of importers would sell the cars with faulty tyres still on them IE as in Japan we have Snow tyres (very dangerous on hot climate with highway speeds) Most other brands are also sold here even US and korean and chinease makes ive seen here in japan for sale so all tyres that are a few years old driven in the snow tend to freaze in japan and driven thus causing small cracks in the tyre (i call these snow cracks) if you have ever seen these tyres from here they can look in very good condition but minor snow cracks on the surface, the cracks allow moisture into the internal structure of the tyre so example if you have tyre made from Textile fabric or steel cord this creates a problem with reliabilty of the structure of the tyre, the fabric tends to rot inside with heat and moisture and in the case of steel belts lets say the rust and may break in both these case the rubber tread will seperate from the fabric or steel belts in side the tyre. Any way due to the control of this was intended to be the compliance company and in most cases no one ever replaced good tyres with snow cracks and as you can imagine an accident at 100klm or more with a seperated tyre would cause accidents. these cases have caused the new regulations to make it that all newly imported Japanese imports be fitted with new tyres prior to registration and to be part of the Raws compliance to show you have replaced tyres on all cars you have complied. Hope this answers your question. -

Importing Gtr
PRIMO replied to raps86's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
LOL nah ....ive heard the Australian export companies in Japan are the best guys for Ozzie brokers as they trust them after years of bussiness together .... plus supply 50 or more photos after purchase. and give really accurate descriptions including they are a motormechanic and know what a bad engine sound is plus allways look under the hood check for oil leaks, turbo problems, rust, frontal accident repairs, headgasket problems in the oil filler cap and radiator. gezz my right knee cap has grown tough skin from looking under each car. the plus's are there. Although i have seem many Japanese exporters not know what a Turbo looks like nore know where the oil filler cap is LOL -
ill be in attendance taking pleanty of hi res photos so if anyone wants to host them later please ask.
