You got off easy, just raise your car and bring it into VIC roads with your defect notice, they will most likely come out and make sure u raised the car and make u scrape off the defect sticker on your windscreen

theres a few good reasons the pay is so much, mainly for the fact that the work is physically challenging, u are in the middle of no where, not many people wanna do it, have to leave home and probably die at the age of 60 cause ur body gave out

u may or may not have a EPA summons coming to u, u never know with them. Yes they keep on record if u have been submitted to them before and if u get caught again with them non EPA compliant mods theres a strong chance u will be fined
