  1. I'm up the northern subs of the 'Gong. I haven't taken the GTR for a drive down there yet though.
  2. I'll be paying on Monday.
  3. I'm still waiting for payment details. How long after we've paid do we get our PFCs?
  4. I'm designing a box right now! I've got an R32 GTR with HKS pods on it now, but I also have an ARC airbox, and I am in the process of making a custom box. I'm not totally happy with the ARC box, so I'm making something better! I have an excellent welder (aircraft engineer) who is happy to make one for me, and I may be able to get him to make a few more if interest is high enough. Also, my cousin owns a metal fabrication business so.... It will be made from aluminium sheet/plate, maybe each side welded together, or maybe some bends(professional/industrial press) and some welds; I'm thinking all welds though, as al doesnt bend too well. I may also look at getting it powdercoated/anodised? black for stealth look, or color maybe. I'm doing it for R32 GTR at the moment, but I would also look at doing them for other models if interest is good.. If anyone is interested, give me a PM, and I'll keep you posted on whats happening.
  5. Just letting you know I'm still in for it. Let me know payment details and I'll pay asap. Thanks
  6. I've bought some standard R32 GTR wheels for my R32 GTR (funny that). The tyres are pretty rooted so I'm of course looking to replace them. I got a quote of $202 fitted and balanced for 225/50/16 BF Goodrich G Force Sport What I want to know is, does anyone have these tires on their car? How good are they? I had them on the front of my Subaru Liberty RX(195/60/15) and I thought they were the best tyre I've tried yet, but unsure how they go on Skylines/GTRs. Is that a decent price? Any other suggestions for a good tyre thats not too exy?
  7. You'll get respect for a car that looks done complete and well maintained. Pay attention to little things that people dont think of, and any cheap things like painting your calipers, keeping car clean and polished, wheels clean, tyres shiny black etc will make peoples opinion of the car rise and cost very little. Plus what I said above. When people see your car, you'll get more admiring nod and smiles with a car like this than you will with a lairy bodykit etc, and much fewer snickers and shaken heads.
  8. RICE= Bad. (My opinion) In saying that, I have to admit that I have an R32 GTR so I don't really have to worry about ricing it up to look good, it looks tough, which I like, and goes hard. (Suck eggs dude, I got it just before the new rules came in, lol. I'm on green P's. Didn't u have your P's before the new rules came in? If yes, you can get turbo.) I think that big, open fibreglass bodykits look crap, especially with heaps of mesh inserts, and especially on non-sporty cars. Same with huge carbon wings. I think gR33ddy is on the right track; try to make your car look different. This will get you the most looks, if thats what you want. Example: the other day I saw a WRC blue WRX with the gold rims(yes guys the dark side still tempts this young Padawan). The only mod I could see was a set of WRC style Subaru star decals in yellow down the side. I couldn't take my eyes off it. This is what I'd do, and the kind of thing I think would look good(only my opinion): Nice racing type rims: 17 or 18 inch, 19s if you are super keen. Decent tyres. Paint your brake calipers red/blue/yellow or whatever, match car maybe. Drilled/slotted brake rotors look good too. Get decent pads too while at it. Nice bodykit thats not too lairy. Good paint job. Carbon fibre bonnet and neat carbon wing. Carbon mirrors too maybe. Nice window tint, I don't know about colored. Neons maybe if they are legal(someone said you have to have the actual tube concealed). Nice decals/stickers down the side. Stay away from the shopping list style sticker down the door, you have no GReddy, TOMEI, HKS, A'Pexi gear on you car, so this would look wanky. Thats all I can think of right now:) Someone slap me before I turn into a RICER!
  9. Dude, I agree with someonestolecc, go the turbo or you'll regret it later. If you are scared of manual trans, don't be; I bought a GTR when I couldn't drive stick hardly at all, and you learn pretty quick. Outlay a few hundred for driving lessons if you have to, or ask anyone, uncles, cousins, friends etc if they can teach you in their manual car. A decent full respray would cost around $3k or maybe a little less if you can do some prep yourself. My tip: research, research, research!!! Then, import a black GTS-T, and get a decent audio setup($3k) and then forget about audio, because you'll have no money left over from buying too many mods.
  10. My God you have a lot to learn.... By the way, your budget for buying the car is probably more than you'll need, only area it is though.
  11. Im almost certain that the March that JustJap have (unsure if they still do), is a Turbo, not a SuperTurbo. I had a look at it one time when I was there. I was actually looking for a turbo/supercharged kei car or similar to use as a runabout if anyone has one lying around.
  12. I also had a strong belief that gaijin was a derogatory term, meaning something like 'crazy foriegner' or 'stupid foriegner'. Know several people who have lived there for a while, several of whom have Japanese wives. Funniest moment from my Japan trip: mostly just us guys at an onsen, and my friend's dad went to take his camera(don't ask) back to the lockers. He came running back in and did a bomb in like that guy in the beer ad into the spa. A middle aged Japanese man had come in and sat near the entry to the onsen. He got splashed something fierce. Japanese man:"(Pissed off sounding Japanese words) gaijin (some more pissed off sounding Japanese words.) Back on topic: When I went to Japan earlier this year for a ski trip, I had only basic numbers and greetings etc, plus a few others and I got on fine. The two most important words to know in Japanese: ichi biru! Seriously, most accomadation places will have someone fairly english fluent on the staff, or tour operators etc do as well and you can ask them to organise things or call people for you if you get stuck. P.S. Stay away from a beer called 'Draught One' at all costs; it became known among us as 'dog fart beer', due to said odour upon can opening. 'Asahi Super Dry' and 'Sapporo Draught' are both decent beers.
  13. Hey guys, anyone got any recommendations for quality security installers (mobile or shop) in or near the Sutherland Shire-Wollongong-Cambelltown kind of area. I'm looking for some decent protection for my R32 GTR. Options are: alarm, 2+points immobiliser, GPS trackers, pager, screamers, alarm trip activated release on cage of taipans, large male gorilla named Thumpy chained to car, pager alarm with remote activated seat mounted spikes laced with Ebola. Now I know some of these are a little unrealistic(who puts GPS trackers in their cars???), but thieves these days.....
  14. Ask your turbo machinist. For stock stockers people say no more than about 1 BAR, 14.7PSI i believe. As Cubes says( or implies), turbo boost pressure is only a measure of how much of a restriction your engine is to the turbo'd air. Power is related to compresser speed/flow more than actual boost pressure. So if you prepare your new setup correctly(heads+cams etc), you don't really need huge boost, just look at rotaries. Do some searches on a few different topics, or try to talk to talk to someone in the know.
  15. I call a Jihad on Harold Scruby and the Pedestrian Council of Australia! Hmm, this guys is such a toolbag, I bet it was no accident that someone hit him, only that they didn't do it properly.
  16. Forza is awesome! I don't know what % I'm at but I'm around level 40 I think. I'm trying to finish the Ferrari supercars events. My F40(twin turbo V8, 2 Bar), struggles against the Enzos on most tracks, but it eats them in a straight line! I think the setup of it is all wrong, but I only know the basics of car suspension etc setup so we wrote down the setup from one of my Porsches(GT3 race car I think), and put them in for the Ferrai F40. I don't know how suitable they are, but I won Nurburgring next race so??? I think I'll look right now and see if anyone has posted setups on the net yet, I'll let you guys know if I find anything decent. Ah, I almost forgot. For my 21st my mates made me a chair out of a cheap race seat fixed to a office chair base, and its good for playing xbox race games, but we've always been talking about making a simulator. My mate bought an ex-race seat from a guy(for a slab of Bourbon+colas!), and its in my garage now. I'm thinking about taking the fabric off it and replacing it, as that is the only thing wrong with it, then we'll find and modify seat rails to suit, and then start on the mountings for the steering wheel and pedels etc. Pity that XBOX has no true force feedback, we may wait for the XBOX2 to come out and see if that does. F#$% me, that was a longer post than I intended!
  17. Hey Charles, I've seen you post with reference to items listed on your website. I thought your site was under construction? If you have one thats up, give us a link. Thanks
  18. Hey Craney, welcome to the site. I don't have any direct experience with RB strokers, but I think most people would tell you to steer clear of strokers unless you've already modded your car significantly. Extra capacity gives you more low down torque, which is good for any engine, but as you say, the kits are expensive. I think most guys who go for strokers already have everything else sorted out, and they mainly want the extra grunt to spool up big turbos quicker. So my advice would be to go for a turbo(s) back exhaust, pod(s) or high flow panel filter, possibly new turbo(s) and PowerFC/retune. Also look at cams. Theres about $5-6000 or so gone, and you'll get much more out of those mods than a stroker kit. If you are still keen, post up as much info about your car as you can, including all modification etc, so the people with more experience on the topic than me can give you a more detailed/informative response. Good luck modding your car!
  19. I was testing my newly arrived R32 GTR the other night, also on private roads by chance(maybe we were on the same road ) I had no such problems thats for sure, 3rd revved out nicely, as did 4th. Come to think of it, I think 5th gave a good showing as well. What limiter? What kind of hill are we talking about? A slight rise, or a mountain pass? You could just be at the limit of your cars pulling capabilities. With regards to the mods to your car, they are two of the best mods you can do to any turbo car. Have a look around, you'll be able to find plenty of suppliers on the forums, both local and importers to provide such mods.
  20. I should be in for a PFC + Comm for R32 GTR, just have to see how the bank balance is after yesterday. I wasnt going to buy PFC just yet, but this is the best price I think I'll get so may as well. I finally got my car on he road and I got bent over big time by Mr Carr. Also paid compliance+CTP. Put me down as a probable buyer, and I'll let you know within a day or so for sure, I should be right. (Hmm, comprehensive insurance, or PFC and new turbos?)
  21. I have a set of four 17in studless snow tires. Haven't had a proper look at them yet, but they appear to be in good condition with heaps of tread left on them. Unsure of brand/s. Also, they are currently attached to 17in wheels, 2x OZ racing F1 wheels and 2x some brand I've never heard of. These MAY be available also. Anyone interested at all? Maybe as winter wheels/tyres if you live on snow? If I cant flog them off they'll be getting burned under my mate's Centura or maybe Dad's XR8 if I can get it away from him, so....
  22. If you've used a supplier from Hokkaido (north island Japan), please either PM me or leave a post here outlining how it went. I recently imported a car and it did not match its description upon arrival, and I'm interested to see if anyone else has had similar problems or other problems.
  23. Hey, I've got a GTR and I'm only 22. And by the way, Ford guys are getting 300rwkw+++ easy with "unopened" engines, some more like 400rwkw, all on stadard heads, rods and pistons. They have around 190rwkw or so standard. They're getting well over 1000hp out of them now with modified heads, rods, forgies and big turbos.
  24. What happens if the mate has a APS Phase II kit on his Ford? 300kw atw Like all the other guys said, a well sorted R32 or R33 would kill a (standard) XR6T. Just get upgraded turbo, cooler, fuel supply and computer (easily under $10k).
