Interesting... so many people have said that to me. My only concern is that there's a electrical component mixed in with stuff that is very hot... not the best combination!
-
Hmmm weird... my car even at idle is quite loud (much more noticeable than the old 25), the exhaust system is relatively the same (add screamer pipe, add cat, add hotdog) so essentially the old system should have been louder?!? My main concern is not WOT noises as I can control that with foot... it's the cruising along, idling sound levels that I'm paranoid about. At full song it is music to the ears though, especially going through tunnels
-
I've actually got a question for all you peeps with the RB30 and some serious HP coming from them... what's your exhaust note sounding like? I'm finding mine to be very loud, and actually look over my shoulder more often than not to make sure there's no 5-0 behind me to tear me a new bum-hole... I'm looking at replacing my Trust PE2 Catback with a different system that uses a large oval bodied muffler - hopefully that will bring the noise levels down.
-
Hehe thanks Vicky

Yeah not sure where the fuel smell was coming from but the cat fixed it up... there was an exhaust leak at the turbo flange at one stage, but that was fixed up. All good now! Mine isn't a X-Force cat, it's a Metal Cat...

Buy my car

Whistling? I'm thinking more like SCREAMING.... I think I'm officially on the hate list in Chatswood after my little squirt through there; screamer pipes n packed bus stops don't really mix too well

Imagine the look on her face when she wakes up one morning and jumps into a 500hp GTT Overnight conversions FTW!
-
Oh and as for fuel... 98RON is a minimum on the GTTs unless you're a tuner and you can re-tune your AM ECU for the cheaper stuff (which would be awesome provided you didn't lose driveability/power).
-
My GTT in its stock form was a bag of fun, this was coming from driving a 2.8L 5 Series BMW... The auto was quite easy to "tolerate" but I would highly recommend the gearbox overhaul from MV Automatics (about $3K-$4K for the whole works) My latest conversion has come together very nicely... lots of R&D and once off parts required but it was worth it; RB2630 - never looking back now!

I'm using a large body 3" Hi-Flow Metal Cat... Main reasons for using one: * a bid to muffle the sound a bit as the 3" straight through pipe was a tad bit loud (understatement) * to stop myself and other occupants from getting high every time we go for a drive, massive amounts fuel fumes before cat (parched throat, stinging eyes etc), none after Cost of the cat was quite reasonable too although I got other things done at the same time.

I've heard some say that a stock turbo can get up to 250rwkw too My opinion is that you'd be better off spending the money on a fuel pump rather than a FPR. At the end of the day, you can't change THAT MUCH with a FPR, get a fuel pump, get an ECU - and get it done properly.

R34 Gtt Rear Strut Bar
satanic replied to arch6's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Remove rear trims... all will be revealed. On each side there are 2 threaded rods poking out, this is where the Cusco brackets bolt to. It's almost as if Nissan was going to put that exact item there, but ran out of money or something. -

Yeah there's a mid-sized bush fire in the North/West area... can see it from my office -

Mine's not a daily driver... will never ever be a daily driver! Too much of an attention seeker, paranoid enough as it is when the screamer is going off -
$450.00-$480.00 delivered from MV Automatics... just had one done up for my R34 box.

R34 Gtt Rear Strut Bar

Made heaps of difference on mine, tightened up the rear end a lot. You're hearing wrong... and no, those parts are not ALL you need... furthermore, R34s came standard with a front strut brace that more than does the job, why the hell would you replace it? So tell me why you'd NEED to do that? Yeah quick n easy install... those photos are almost 2 years old now. Some dude who did it in Japan had to grind away the edges on the brackets as he was fitting it to a 4 door. As for the trimming, you are spot on, just a small cut here n there so the brackets fit through. Are you talking about the same car here? R34s did come standard with a front strut brace, not sure how that can be "bang for buck". -

I like the fact that I can load my Skyline full of stuff / people and drive around like I was in it by myself... oh oh oh, I also love the fact that I need to scream at the drive through attendant at Maccas in order to put my order through -
Don't you live in Chatswood Richard?
-
LOL try having your car stored in a warehouse next to a bikie gang clubhouse... extremely safe, but extremely loud
-
I'm just thinking what's louder... a 18 wheel truck, or a screamer pipe at full song...
-
Surely these are not going to be deployed anywhere near where we common folk would live... as stated, it's primarily to target truckies.
-
Undecided... I wouldn't have a clue which is better; they both look n read the same to me~ Will have a chat to my exhaust guy and see what he thinks, his field, his expertise - miles better than the interweb...
