  1. Compared to Motul is that better? I have heard several SAU members use that ELF. Please work out a price for me then Where is Powerplay Imports - obviously I'd need to pick it up from you~
  2. Cheers d00dz again You guys are my knights in shining cars
  3. Also, I'm going to go buy the Motor Oil and o2 Sensor this weekend... Any suggestions on which oil to use (Motul is the favourite on SAU) and where to get it from for cheap? If your answer is going to be Motul, please give me the number as well as there are a few available. o2 sensor fron NTK or ACA... which one is better? And again, where should I buy it from? Thanks
  4. Will do d00dz Please tell more about the dyno day - $50.00 sounds ok. But I don't really see a point considering my car has not been tuned LOL
  5. Dudes... Beer and ample company or "spectators" are most certainly welcome... I will provide the beer (please put preferences). As for the space where we're going to do it... Unless you like to work on cars at a 45 degree angle, my house is not good at all. 1 extra case of beer to the person who donates house as well
  6. Thanks all... at the moment just an oil change, new oil filter and change the sparkies to Iridiums. Possibly do the o2 sensor (Ford EL unit as well). I have most of the gear ready.... just need a time and place (Sunday is most preferable since I work all 6 other days) Can you guys just post up how much I'm looking at for something like that from one of you? Cheers for the support ^^
  7. Welcome to Sydney! Another fellow Skyliner in the area We should all go cruising one day...
  8. Hey everyone, Unlike the majority of guys and girls here, I am not 100% with all the bits and pieces on the Skyline, and am quite adamant to do any servicing or maintenance myself (oils, sparkies, o2 sensors etc.) Usually for this type of dilemma I'd just consult a workshop and pay some guy to do it all... but I have read that people tend to rip you because you own a performance machine. As such, I am seeking anyone who is confident with their Skylines (particularly R34s and RB25DETs) to help with some of the small things - paid for of course. I'm seeking Northern Beaches people due to proximity to home but if anyone is genuine about it, I don't mind driving Thanks all! I know a lot of you may think its strange or whatever, but seriously - just not too confident with my knowledge of the car ~
  9. And I suppose people from the shire are... ? :D
  10. 777That's only because the Northern Beaches ROCK! On my way home: R33 next to an old Commodore on the bridge, left it for dead! R32 and R33 at Chatswood around 7:30pm. Then my R34 sitting in the garage at home
  11. So how much are these filters worth without the Group Buy discount? I may be interested, but depends if you are willing to ship to NSW?
  12. Well for me it took a little longer as I applied for a car loan at first (they called me later to tell me i wasn't applicable). I'd say that if you got your application submitted and posted off, the total time would be about 1 week before financing takes place. If you do it over the phone it'll be faster.
  13. www.hsbc.com.au After that you just download the forms , fill them out and submit them! They call you and confirm everythin, send you the contract, you return it and the money is in your account!
  14. OMG so many people on the Northern Beaches!!!! *GETTING EXCITED*
  15. Direct Debit on a nominated Fortnightly basis... only because I get paid fortnightly. If I got paid weekly I would do it that way and probably save another half year on that in interest too (you can nominate the option you want before taking the loan). I'm with Commonwealth too, they just DD from my account - no charges associated with it.
  16. Hey midnight, do you live in the Northern Beaches area?
  17. HSBC Australia. Apart from some communication problems with their call centre staff, I can't really fault them on too much. Their assessment system is pretty good and they are more than helpful when suggesting alternatives or other options. Hope it works out for you mate!
  18. svd164, I didn't know that it was a uniform rule throughout Australia. I got the xenons on my car from the place where I got the car... the way I got them was the same as the way I told everyone above: by going to a car importer that does their own compliancing (add a little cash incentive, and then a direct swap with an un-complied car). I won't post who did it, but yeah basic concept. The only way they could tell if every single xenon unit was destroyed would be to take down serial numbers which I don't think the units have. This RAWS thing to me is a little bit flawed... but I'm still learning, maybe there is a legitimate reason why they have to do it.
  19. DO NOT GO WITH COMMONWEALTH OR ANY BIG NAME AUSSIE BANKS!!! Reasons: Way too expensive and a big lack of customer support when it comes to negotiating the best option for your situation - been there done that! Most just asked what it was for, my age, and then turned me down (they have way too much emphasis on age and what it is for, didn't even consider my income or financial assets). Solution: Personal loan!!! It doesn't hold your car as security and it also doesn't fix in the amount of interest meaning you could pay it all back in no time with no interest! Personally I went down this path after being turned down by countless banks on the R34. Most said the 34 did not qualify for their secured car loan conditions. HSBC turned me down too, but they offered the Personal Loan instead - ends up being $20 a fortnight more expensive $28000 over 5 years @ 9.95%pa = $320 a fortnight (paying at this frequency gets reduces the interest by an amount which is equivalent to $4000 meaning I pay off the loan in 4.5 years
  20. Are the laws regarding import cars and illegal parts that strict in WA? Surely a set of lights won't be looked upon as something too punishable ~
  21. Why is it that I'm always the last to know whenever there are cruises organized? Shitty thing was that I was in the City that night!!! Major GRRR Factor! Re-organize another one
  22. WA could be different to NSW laws... and you must remember that they are just LIGHTS!!! It is not going to kill anyone nor pollute the environment in anyway.
  23. Just went through a RBT on Friday night... copper didn't even notice the fact I had some brighter lights on the car than "legally" allowed. As with what Mad34 said, they really only car if its too low or too loud... besides, how many new cars do I see with much brighter lights (Mercs and Beamers). For those who want them, go back to the place where the car was imported... offer them a $100 to call you the next time a "fresh" car arrives so you can do a swap over before the lights get ripped out of that one for compliance Be WAY cheaper than buying from Nissan (think about it, they were yours in the first place)
  24. Ok I stand corrected... but I am pretty sure you can get the location down to a pretty exact location, definitely less than 100 square kms. When all those new phones coming out, this was one of the selling points of them as you could track them if they are stolen. This was one point that the Telcos and the Police were pressing as well! But that may just be a scare tactic...
