Big Power, Auto, And Flex Plates

Cheers... and btw, if anyone else is doing this - be sure to use good quality turbo lock nuts, I can't believe they came loose TWICE (resulting in boost issues) -
Big Power, Auto, And Flex Plates
satanic replied to satanic's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Well it's been a little while, and admittedly I've just been lazy with updating this Anywho... upon discussion with others, we have decided to draw a sensible line to wrap up 2008 modifications - 350rwkw was what this line was, and that we got with 1BAR of boost. In doing so, we managed 526nm of torque which is a tad bit more than before... All the above was measured using a Dynojet Research. The main thing after yesterday's touch up was: 1) Power delivery was smooth throughout the rev-range 2) Gear changes are now smooth as (achieved through the F-CON I believe) 3) AFRs set perfect I can't really comment on how far this new flex plate has to go, as we were playing the "safety first" game... but I do believe it would be more than comfortable with another 0.5BAR of boost in there I must note though that at no stage during the 40+ dyno runs yesterday, did the AUTO OIL TEMP go above 70 degrees. -
When do you get it tuned? Keen on the output with your list of modifications and $$$ spent...

Interested to know what type of modifications you needed to do to make that bonnet fit without spacing it up?

Quick question... is it possible to get a R34 box with no holes drilled in the side panel? Need to try and fit one over this:

There'll be a whole bunch at the Firehouse tonight including myself n Blitz... we won't be celebrating said execution though; I don't believe in the death penalty...

No need for a BOV, seriously...

Never been a fan of OTT kits... so yes, the new bonnet (whatever it will be) will be subtle and functional. Thinking about just getting an OEM copy bonnet in CF or FRP, take it to a body shop, have them cut the entire middle section out and mould in a higher centre "rise" to clear the engine. Mould in a NACA duct above the high mount turbo / dump pipe area and we're done PS: thanks for the kind words all, feel free to check out some of my videos on Youtube... another update will be added there after Wednesday's efforts at the dyno room.

Hehe... you're lucky I live just up the road else I wouldn't have been assed to drive out after work Still need to sort that "bulge" out, it's a dead giveaway that there's something big hiding in the bay

It's the price you have to pay for a RB30 Still drawing up plans for a solution, but that will have to do for now...

Thanks Howie... I decided on Saturday night that there would not be anymore spending on the '34 until 2009... should give you some time to catch up 2009 looks pretty tame from where I'm sitting though: brakes, wheels, tints, and some paintwork...

I'll try find a photo tonight... should have a few floating around.

Hi all, I've just moved in with a few friends and our place is overflowing with internet capabilities... as such, the Vodafone wireless broadband account I use to have is no longer required. I have called them up, and they cannot cancel that and divert the costs onto my mobile account - but I can transfer ownership to someone else. As such, I'm putting it on here at a $0.00 cost to you - only thing is you'll then assume liability for the on-going contract which is $39.95 a month (incl. GST) + $0.10 per MB that you use over that cap. This is a no-strings attached transfer meaning you won't have to go through any credit checks etc. Included in the transfer you will get the USB wireless modem, the Vodafone SIM for the account, Cables, and Instructions. Will even throw in the postage free of charge Express Post to anywhere in Australia after transfer is completed. PS: I signed up for the contract in Jan 2008, so the termination is Jan 2010

Not a photo of my car (the outside is just too boring)... but it is a shot of the engine bay Completed in September 2008. [ Have a super duper intake pipe happening these days, yet to take photo - maybe later... ]

Getting car tuned next Wednesday again should be interesting...

My only question is this... "do you always just jump into your car and reverse without looking?" If your response is "but it's my driveway, it should be clear" then that's pointless because your driveway ends when it meets the public road... I believe not looking / checking for traffic is classified as negligent driving? Offense that is punishable with fine and points in NSW

Hey MBS206, got any photos of your setup? I'm really keen... At the moment this is how my system goes: 3" Dump Pipe hanging off Turbonetics GTK Turbo 3" Hi Flow Metal Cat 3" Hot Dog (some generic brand) 3" PE2 Rear Muffler The thing is; we previously got rid of the mid-muffler on the PE2 when it was still a RB25, it was relatively OK then. Now that it's a 30 and sounds like a jet plane all the time, I really wish we didn't do that. PM me the details PREASE?

So the guys for NSW have changed from Tunehouse to CRD? Wow that didn't take long... a month or 2 ago you were full plugging Tunehouse as the place to go to, why not now? Or did you just forget to mention them? EDIT: Actually scratch the above... you're not Martin from HKS - I'll neglect what you've just said.
