  1. Been accumulating parts required for this weekend. Picked up a turbosmart bov, The largest and the highest-flowing BOV in the Turbosmart range.
  2. Price drop on remaining unsold items Turbos 300 Cams 300 Oil catch cans and breather kit. 100 Standard plennum and throttle bodies 80
  3. Advised I don't need a heater, its only $100 if I change my mind, don't think the temp sensor is needed, if they put one in ill post it up.
  4. Bout time
  5. The oil tank arrived today, we were originally having one made up by Leigh our fabricator but unfortunately he is flat out so had to find one in stock ASAP as Bc are working flat out on it next weekend. So this is what was available in 24 hours delivery, looked at the aviaid but not sure if it would make it in time. The fabricated one from Leigh was going to fit behind the left wheel against the firewall engine bay were the abs used to be, this 6x19.5inch will now fit in front of the left wheel.
  6. Cheers, 2860-10's. or they were 2860-5's, I keep getting them confused but its the ones that make big power up top and the others top out around 420-440kw.
  7. Start that thread, I'm sure all want to read how you have progressed. Thought about using the foam but decided not too as eventually ill be running a full floor and may need those 2 bottom holes for brake duct venting. And the carbon has blocked off the holes pretty well for now. There's another alternative which costs around 300 to have someone block off and design the bar to look smooth like it was designed like that from the beginning, but then you have to paint it. I will eventually do it right down the track when funds are available.
  8. That front splitter interpretation did my head in, I emailed and spoke to Ian regarding this, and the response was basically what the rule says it is. So I was still confused as this wasn't an answer, so I emailed Scott beeton as he helped write the rules and this was his response back 27th April, 1.5 version rules. I've shot an email through to Ian outlining your concerns. As far as the front splitter length is concerned, I've asked for clarification, but it says that the profile must follow the outline of the front bar, but may extend 150mm longitudinally forward, so this allows for ONLY 150mm forward at any given point in the direction of travel of the vehicle. Where you get to the point that the vehicle front ends, ie, the side of the car, I would imagine that you cannot then go any further forward as you go out to the side. Anyway, I'll chat with Ian and see if I can put together a document to clarify all of this. Best regards, Scott Beeton Short story, its still open to interpretation so I reckon this year either way will be allowed, just in case we only went forward only. John I reckon you will be ecstatic when the time comes.
  9. Thanks buddy, if you do it yourself careful with drilling as it can split the carbon, and use a heat gun to shape the corners.
  10. 1.42 club sprint should be in the top 10ish
  11. Yolanda manny competing in club sprint class, anyone know if the evo 8rs she's driving is quick? Should I ask Richo? Rumours on the street say that Yolanda's your mrs.
  12. Started on the front bar, needed to block off 3 of the wholes that weren't being used. Had some left over carbon sheet that was cut up and riveted on. Also dean modified these crap canards I bought online, they fit a standard bar fine but needed to be cut to fit, and the 75mm following the coachwork rule didn't allow us to make the most of them so we cut em shorter. They will do for now, positioned them up from our wool tuft test. It all doesn't look the best but as long as it works I don't care what it looks like anymore. Really hope all this gives us some more front downforce as its easy to get rear downforce but limited from the front.
  13. So after some positive encouragement from John and levinboy and dean, went back and cut out the doors, didn't do much but its something, just under 1kg for both doors combined. I weighed the doors again and they actually weigh 6kg not 8kg as I posted earlier, scales still didn't move from 6kg after cutting em out.
  14. Didn't need any cooling elsewhere if this is what you mean by ducting?
  15. Carbon doors with plastic windows weighing 8kg, I can't decide if I should cut up the door also, I can get another 1.5-2.5kg out of them, cut or leave?
  16. Changed the steering bush to a solid bush, driftworks. Also repairing the driveshaft as a boot was split
  17. Blocked off the rear vents to the bonnet with some carbon. They were allowing air in to the wrong area.
  18. Started cutting out the inner shell on the bonnet also, was weighing 9.5kg, now weighing 7.5kg, 2kg of inner shell.
  19. Dash weighs 2kg, standard was 10kg, and a copy of the original dash in carbon fibre weighs 2.2kg but cost heaps. Happy with my choice
  20. Decided on wrapping the dash in matt black as the carbon finish has a glare to it. Dash brackets are welded to the body and the dash attaches to the brackets for easy in and out if required.
  21. Very good points, call Ian to clarify.
  22. Great ideas guys, I even had to look up "flocking" as I didn't know what the process was, have seen it before but didn't know what it was called. I like the dark carbon look wrap, not sure if Steve's is black or carbon black, bit hard to see with that photo but love your dash dude.
  23. That front splitter will definitely help, it's great that you can buy one already fabricated to fit your vehicle. Since you won't have it on for the first event please give feedback in regards to front grip, not even sure if you will feel any difference but still curious.
  24. Leigh our fabricator and the guy's worked on fitting up a dash today, think ill carbon wrap it.
