  1. Nah, they are an off the shelf order. My engine builder is secret squirrel when it comes to the cams. Not sure why, they are just cams I say. But I wanted to at least show everyone the specs of em.
  2. Another thing I've had to get was different sized uprights for the Aeromotions wing. Regs state the max wing height can only be 250mm from the boot lid at the centre point of the car. The old height was about 295mm. With these new smaller ones it now sits at 249mm. Hey snowman, not sure if your gonna add a front splitter now or later but curious if running the lower uprights gives you less rear downforce. It may end up balancing the car and loosing that under steer you have.. Not sure but would like to hear your feedback if you try. Cheers
  3. Also removed the aeromotions computer which weighted 3kg, that is heavy. So in total another 4kg out of the car for the day. We have bets on what the car will weigh once completed, Brett and I reckon 1270kg, dean reckons 1250 and if its not he's gonna cut everything out till he's right. Next week ill start on the bonnet and chop it up.
  4. I worked on the wing and boot, cut out the inner shell of the carbon/ fibreglass bottom boot lid. Total loss of 1kg, it all adds up in the end.
  5. The guys in action reassembling the sump.
  6. The whole engine except for the hypertune plenum was cryogenically frozen, from the block to the clutch and flywheel, head, nuts and bolts, the lot. I have no idea if this actually prolongs the life of the parts, but went for it on the engine builders recommendations.
  7. Cams and spec sheet.
  8. Inlet manifold match ported to cylinder head. Inlet manifold match ported to hypertune runners.
  9. The project seems to be a little off schedule but its starting to pick up again. Went past today to see the progress and help out we're I could. Engine will be completed by this weekend, just needs to be put together.. Some snap shots of the block 2stage bored to 1mm oversized, diamond plateau honed bores.
  10. Are there any other big name teams coming from Japan/US/UK? Seems a bit light on so far... still 'early' days I guess. Hopefully a few more come out. I've been hanging to see all these cars for years, I reckon they are saving the best till last and teams are still probably still putting them together at the last minute.
  11. Thanks dude, looking forward to reading up on your beast, soon as I get a copy. Had brad snap and send some shots of the story till its out.
  12. Lol so true. Not sure about you but I've become emotionally involved with the it. I can't part with it even though financially it's the smart choice. If only I can turn back time, if I could find a way...blah blah blah.
  13. So here are some pics of the old car prior to Bc automotive livery and last track day, photos courtesy of hp imports. It's a trip seeing your car like this then in 100 pieces again.
  14. Blew the budget ages ago steve, I wish I could get another set of te37's, I'm starting to think I should have bought a Porsche gt3 cup car instead as I'd have heaps of spare change.
  15. Hey dan, this is correct but in the new rules state that the car must have been produced at least 500 units to comply, what do you think your car will weigh?
  16. Currently running 18x10.5 +22 offset te37's which are needed for the way it's set up. Been using 305/18 slicks with no issue. Running spaces in the front. Will be running 295's for time attack for sure. Looks like a second hand pair of te37 but probably won't find it in +22 offset, best bet is work wheels but weigh 11.1kg, te37 weigh 8.8. Not a huge difference.
  17. Thanks dude, I didn't know the issue was out yet, curious to read what was written. Workshop is in lilydale Melbourne. Need anything pm and ill point you onto who ever you need.
  18. Can't get these wheels in a +22 offset or else I would order them.
  19. So had a chance to read through the new rules and it doesn't affect us in open class I don't think, it actually cleared up a couple things that needed clarifying. Glad they posted all vehicle weights, those evo's are so light to begin with.
  20. Short notice, is this affecting you guys at all? I need to re read them again... Especially with the new interpretations. Alternative materials are permitted however all bodies must follow the same shape and retain the original look and style of the vehicle. Does following the same shape mean keeping the original side skirts? Keeping the original front bar? Front and rear bars may be modified to incorporate aero design. Front bar may not extend further than 150mm forward and rear bar no further than 100mm rearward than the vehicles bodywork. Interesting
  21. What have you heard?
  22. Looking at a spare set of wheels 18x10.5 +22 offset, what's cheap and light, any ideas? Would love another set of te37's , they weigh bout 8.8kg but there not cheap. Looking at these work emotion cr kiwami weighing in at 11.1kg for $1850. Do you think these would look ok on the car in bronze?
  23. Update progress report.........um, yeah, slow. Checked out my clutch we were using and it seems fine, twin plate and In very good condition. Wonder if a triple plate will be needed for the power we are running.
  24. Those 285's worked well, well done
